September 2011	Schöne Hotelanlage, freundliches Personal, Lage mitten im Alltagsleben, Essen und Trinken ok 8,7 leider abends disco-musik aus der nachbarschaft störend. hotelzimmer sauber, gut eingerichtet - weniger gut die badezimmer: schwarze toilettendeckel, duschkopf teilweise verkalkt, keine duschtasse brause zielt auf den boden, keine waschmittel (seife, duschgel), keine handtücher (nur duschtücher), zusammenfassung: bis auf badezimmer alles bestens, incl. wäscherei und auch was die shops anbelangt, besonders angenehm die aussenanlagen (frühstück, mittag und abendessen). Empfehlung zum Hotel: Wenn Sie dabei haben, was man unterwegs so braucht, wenn man von Hotel zu Hotel reist (Kosmetika), werden Sie einen schönen Aufenthalt haben.

Mai 2013	it was great start of the entire trip centrally located, convenient, yet it can be quiet and relaxing, well established hotel 8,3 it was only one night stop in Kathmandu but I am glad I chose this place. I highly recommend this place: - can be very sociable with other travellers - centrally located - yet it can still be very quiet and calm once you step in to the court yard, which I loved - you can walk to anywhere

April 2013	Nerve-center of Thamel, Kathmandu Location, service, setting 9 After traveling around Nepal, arriving at the KGH was a pleasure - quiet, attractive setting with rooms ranging in price from $2 (original dorm) to $160 (new luxury wing). Staff is friendly and attentive, fellow guests are diverse and interesting to watch, breakfast in outdoor garden setting is good (Illy coffee is extra! but a nice alternative to the Nescafe available in much of Nepal and with the complementary breakfast). This place really is the nerve-center of Thamel, the tourist center of KTM. Everything is within walking distance, yet the hotel itself is secluded and quiet. Front-desk staff are friendly and helpful. Several small shops on the premises sell souvenirs, maps, and even fine jewelry. The rooms vary according to price, but are all clean and comfortable; a $50 room with bath was more than adequate and looked out onto the central garden.

The rooms were very clean, modern and comfortable and the gardens were nice and quiet. Really had no complaints at all except that the Wi-Fi was super slow almost to the point of not being usable and that there is no wifi access in guest rooms unless you were willing to pay for it. If Wi-Fi was fast and free, would've rated this 10/10.

März 2013	Great Location, rooms can do with up-dating location,in-keeping with culture, 6 Unaware we had to pre-book for hotel shuttle service from airport so ended up paying a taxi and was not refunded by hotel. Latish arrival but restaurant still going and drink. Room was scant and out-dated with out of service shower. Saved by its location and was not noisy for central hotel.Might look to book elsewhere- coffee was extra was too much!

März 2013	Old Palace, Faded Glory Friendly staff, Centrally located, Nice Garden 7 Enjoyable, however, the hotel is a bit overpriced when considering the other options in the area. We stayed four nights, before moving next door to a hotel with more modern rooms at half the price. Restaurant is rather like a Monty Python sketch. Most items on the menu either are unavailable or will not come with standard fixings. Things like "we can make the Spagetti Bolognaise for you, but there is no meat".
