Breathtaking sea view
Breathtaking sea view, peaceful environment and sea front villa
I had a sea front villa facing directly to South China Sea, is a jaw dropping view with endless white sandy beach. Villa is good but a bit of trouble due to multi levels of floor in the villa. TV channel was very poor, not much choice but manageable.

Value For Money?
Beach, pool(s), tranquility
Staff are extremely attentive. Late checkout made it worthwile. Best part is the quiet atmosphere, as if it never gets crowded. The beach and landscaping around the villas is stunning. We did experience an issue: the aircon and part of the electrical circuit broke down. It was quickly fixed though. Also, the food and drinks are overpriced: A salad, spring rolls, 2 drinks = $80. It all tastes great but that's simply too much in Vietnam. The rooms themselves are nice, but the layout is not very "user-friendly" or functional. Only 1/2 of the room gets used, so the elevated area in the middle represents some wasted space. Very tastefully decorated. The audio / TV system seems somewhat outdated. In similar resorts you get 7-1 surround sound, 41" TV & free movies. The iPod in the room starts playing at night and the remote control didn't work properly. TV should be away from the bed downstairs in front of the sofa. Frankly, I'd rather prefer no TV at all, put some flowers and subtle artwork instead! Another minute detail is the selection of music. Christmas songs evoke the wrong atmosphere. In the bathroom, there's hardly any space to hang towels other than the shower and toilet door. There wasn't really any bath salt. There was something called "eggshells", which had a nice scent but released hardly any in the hot bath water and didn’t dilute easily. It would have been great if there were a fan outside in the porch against insects. We liked walking to the beach from the villa, but there are no signs on the way back unless you go via the lobby. Breakfast quality was great. Amazing service again, but selection for such a resort could have been wider. It wasn't "overwhelming" as I have experienced in other resorts (different fruits, some papaya instead of the pineapple, more vegetables, salad condiments, cheeses).

Luxury hotel with small hiccups
Design, beach, facility
We stayed in Nam Hai for a week after hearing how amazing it was. It is a nicely designed hotel, possibly the most luxurious in Hoi An. However, we had experienced some small issues: 1. Wild animals getting into the room. Frog and snakes. We had found a hole in the floor where the animals were coming in, and the staff members had repaired it in a days time. 2. Inconsistent room service. things are left in different places, and the fruit and flowers that was there on the first 3 nights didn't come on the later nights. 3. Room design, thought the rooms look great, however with all the stepping up and down and sharp corners, it becomes dangerous for young children, probably a nightmare for people with hip replacements....

Not fully satisfied with the in room design
Pool, quietness, beach side
Not fully satisfied, due to The interior layout of the room in split level create dangerous and accident prone particularly at night when lighting are emphasised on ambient without considering the practicality, such as in bathroom, toilet and washing areas where we need sufficient lighting.
