Convenient location in downtown area”
Agga Youth Hotel is located in downtown Yangon, within walking distance to the harbor and jetties. 20 to 30 min. walk to Sule Pagoda. Surroundings are very atmospheric with old crumbling colonial-era style buildings. Not much nightlife in this area, but a good restaurant next door. Staff is very attentive.

Budget hotel. Friendly Staff.”
We booked 5 nights for our stay in Yangon. Overall the stay at Agga Youth Hotel is good. It an 8 story high shop house that you need to walk up a few stairs to reach the hotel lobby and to take the lift. Not wheelchair friendly. However, the staff are friendly. They will advise you the estimated price of taking a taxi from one place to another. Sometimes, we will also walk to the main road with you to help you bargain and get a taxi. The hotel is near Chinatown and there is a shopping mall with Cineplex nearby. There are also a few cafes and restaurants at the surrounding. The triple room (double room connecting to a single room) size is not big (just nice for one person to walk), but the aircon is powerful. The bathroom is clean and spacious and the hot water shower pressure is also powerful. The uncomfortable experience staying in Agga Youth Hotel is there are many mosquitoes and we are catching them the every night. The rooms are partitioned and it is noisy when your neighbours are talking. The Wifi sometimes works well and sometimes not. The breakfast is standard either Toast and eggs or local delights (Fried Noodles, Fried Rice etc which changes everyday); drinks are coffee, tea or orange juice. Sometimes the waiter will hear your order wrongly and serve you wrong breakfast.

Great staff and free breakfast buffet”
We really enjoyed our stay at Agga Youth Hotel. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast on the roof top was a blast. The location was great too and the WiFi worked perfectly fine.

Great Rooftop Restaurant”
I was writting my postcards on the rooftop, great view to the Shwedagon Pagoda and Yangon city. There is WiFi everywhere. Agga is definitely a great Hotel for Myanmar.

Excellent Value with Under-Recognized Restaurant”
Great location with staff genuinely trying to do a good a job. From reading discussions on other blogs, I would not recommend staying the super cheap, windowless rooms. If your room has a window, you should be satisfied. There is no hotel safe or even a store room, but leaving my passport, etc. was not a problem. After two weeks in and about Yangon, we surprisingly concluded the hotel restaurant is one of the very best values in Yangon. Excellent Myanmar-Chinese food of surprising quality and at great prices. The hotel definitely needs to promote its restaurant better.

Good hotel for Myanmar”
After visiting Bagan and Inle Lake, I realize that accomodations in Yangon were not bad after all! Agga has clean rooms and I met nice people at the lobby.

Great value per price ”
I've stayed here for almost a week and didn't think once about changing the hotel. The breakfast is good, the rooms are clean and staff is extremely nice. Everyone always smiling and helping with everything. The last day I had to wait for my taxi until 5:30 pm so I allready checked out of my room but was very tired because of walking on extremely hot sun and the gave me a bed in dorm for free for few hours so I could relax until it was time to leave. If I come back to Yangon, I'm staying here again!

Superb Customer service - cool staff :) ”
Exceptional service: Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. Good breakfast. Not much choice for meals though but still acceptable. I believe TV channels should be upgraded so that we don’t get bored in our room :) Overall, This hotel is value for money as the price is very reasonable with free wifi plus breakfast and a comfortable room. Easy access to the city centre. I will stay here again for my next trip to Yangon.

Thank you so much”
After the check out I went to the lobby to use the free Wi-Fi and forgot my Iphone 6 there, I was at the junction, almost in a taxi toward the airport when a lovely girl came to bring me my phone back! I tried to give her a reward but she refused and left me with a smile. In another country maybe they would have kept my phone. Thank you Agga because all my Myanmar pictures were in my phone. My stay at Agga was great. Very nice people.

nice budget hotel”
good location, 5 min walk from china town with many local street food and shops. complementary breakfast is alright. the twin room is not that spacious but tidy and reasonable for its price. wifi is available everywhere within the premise but requires you to log in every now and then. we got a sim card with data anyway (USD4-5 for 512MB data and 100min in a mobile network company nearby recommended by the staff... good receptions in most places we visited in myanmar). most staff speak good english and are very helpful. they remembered us when we returned to the hotel after a week, and let us to put our luggage in their storeroom whole day for free even we were not staying that night as we were flying out. it's called a youth hotel but don't expect a too much of the "hostel atmosphere". will recommend if travelling on a budget.

Friendly staff, Comfy room, Good breakfast”
We were really pleased with the value for money at Agga. The room was pretty clean and simple, although the beds are a little stiff. The location is good, close walk to Chinatown and surrounding markets, and about a 10-15 minute (4,000 kyat) taxi to Shwedigan Temple. The breakfast was a full on buffet with unlimited toast, jam, eggs, fried rice and noodles, samosas, tea and juice. The staff were very helpful booking us bus tickets and giving info about the area. Definitely recommended for the budget traveler/ backpacker.

You get what you pay for (or less)”
I stayed at Agga Youth Hotel last January. Arrived from Bagan at around 6am but check-in time is at 2pm. Stayed in the hotel lobby until 9am with other early guests. Staff said there are no vacant rooms but we already saw one too many guests check-out already. I had the staff safekeep my bag so I can have breakfast and wander around the city until I get to check-in my room. They let me shower in the common bathroom. The room was something you'd expect in a single room (only a lot smaller than you think). I had a good night sleep despite the walls being a bit thin (I heard moans from the other room). So I suggest you keep your noises down. Other than that, stay was ok.

Near 19th street”
We met other travellers at the reception and we had a great time in 19th street. There are plenty of barbecue and cheap beers in 19th street. I recommend you to have a walk there, it's only 5 min away from Agga. Thanks

Great location and helpful staff”
The rooms are very basic and fairly clean. The whole building smells like garlic. Many rooms do not have windows to the exterior, but there are frosted glass interior windows to the hallway and there are bright lights on all night making it difficult to sleep. However, the location is good and the staff were helpful. When we passed back through Yangon for a day at the end of our trip, we were allowed to leave our bags and use the showers free of charge.

Good experience”
The staff was nice, after long bus from Inle back to Yangon, we came to this hotel about 8am . We was given to had fast shower and store the luggage to go to discover the city. The feeling is good, breakfast was buffet with several choices but delicious. Love the place even the flushing of my room in 201 was broken down.

Good hotel for short stay”
2 short stays of one night. The rooms, a little bit old, were not super clean, and as the walls are thin, it was also a little bit noisy. But, basically it is more than enough for short stays in Yangon. The water was warm, the wifi connexion ok and the breakfast provided simple but good. Finally, the staff was very nice and always efficient. A good experience!
