Nice hotel with great view”

we did a quick overnight trip to Kaohsiung from Taipei and stayed at the Ambassador hotel. It was a beautiful hotel with a great view of the Love River and Kaohsiung harbor. Nice breakfast buffet with full assortment of eastern and western foods. the hotel is across the street from the promenade along the Love River with shops, bars, restaurants and tour boat operators. Will certainly stay here again.

Awesome stay! But not “5 Star”...”

All in all this is a great hotel in a great location (perhaps a little far from MRT if you don’t want to walk). It’s clean, quiet, and is staffed with great, friendly people. The bed was comfortable, and the view of the love river was excellent. The price I paid was an exceptional value for what it was, and I would definitely stay here again! But 5 Star? Eh... almost.... 4 definitely, maybe even 4 1/2. Not quite 5... Why? Well, the building is a bit old. Old style keys for the rooms instead of magnetic cards, paint showing its age in some places. The bathroom was a bit small with towel rack in the shower (which I’m not a fan of, and there was really no room anywhere else to put them) and the water temperature during my shower was slightly inconsistent. I got the American style breakfast delivered to my room (eggs, sausage, croissants, salad, coffee, and orange juice) but was a bit surprised to find no butter or jam for the croissants, no milk or cream for the coffee, and no ketchup for the eggs. Not a terrible breakfast, but I was a bit disappointed for NT$450. Definitely not a 5 star breakfast. If you’re a hotel connoisseur, you might want to consider somewhere else, but if you want to stay in a great hotel for a great price, look no further. I’ve stayed in the 85 tower hotel before, and it is of similar quality. The view from 85 is great, but Ambassador is right next to the love river and I found that location to be far superior.

Very pleasant, efficient, and friendly”

I was visiting Kaohsiung with a couple of colleagues. The Ambassador is very well located, and provides an excellent level of service. We had to change our lans at the last minute and they were very helpful and accommodating, I'd definitely recommend this hotel, and would stay there again.

Great hotel with very spacious rooms”

Excellent, comfortable and great service staff. It's a great hotel. If ever I should visit Kaohsiung again, I will certainly again stay at Ambassador Hotel. The rooms are really spacious and well equipped. It made my stay very relaxing and satisfying.

Good value”

Great service and food on top floor of this hotel. Beds a bit too hard but staff provided soft mattress. Solid place to stay. When in Kaohsiung, the Ambassador Hotel is much better place to stay than the over hyped and more expensive Grand Hi Lai or old Splendor Hotels. In fact, I'd skip the Grand Hi Lai as their Mgt team is terrible - with bugs/lice in beds at Grand Hi Lai, etc ... Never stay at Grand Hi Lai! Stay at Ambassador as it's a much better venue indeed.

I stayed there with my mom. It was clean and had a good view. And it was a holiday(dragon boat day), so more exciting view to see the race of dragon boat in the hotel. They have a small swimming pool (free) and sauna(ntd 500) that family can enjoy there. I could not swim because of temporary raininning time. U can feel it is pretty far from MRT if it is too hot. But if it is fall or winter, just u can enjoy walking to go to the MRT station. Actually nearby this hotel on foot(within 20mins) i could see some famous places to look around. When i was looking for the breakfast, i was almost nearby Talee dep. We could go to many places like ikea, carrefour, dreammall, hansin dep., 85 building by taxi with just 85~100ntd and 290ntd for airport. Fuguangsan and dragon tower with my friends car so do not know how far from there but i can say Kaohsiung is small city. Many ppl can not speak english so it is better u make a note in Chinese the place u wanna go.

Great Location”

We stayed for 3 nights at Ambassador Hotel. The hotel is located at a nice location near to wonderful love river. Rooms are clean and spacious. Easy walk to shops and restaurants.The hotel staff was friendly and so helpful in showing where to go and give some advice any place that need to visit.

First time in Ambassador hotel! I thought it was a old and impersonalized hotel type. I was wrong, the staff are very nice and gave a lot of travel tips. it is a traditional hotel but gives you very energetic and good impression, every one is trying to help out! They are ready at all moment ! Very pleasant trip

all the good memories started from there”

There were truly things to be remembered, the LOVE river, night food market, fancy department store with a roof “Kaohsiung Eye”. Our final destination was Kenting, and all the good memories started from this hotel, sentimentally brought us to a true pleasure of Getaway. The hotel is not linked directly to any commercial facilities, it is not a “Lotte” style hotel, but generally a gentle and warm welcoming in the winter season.

Good hotel, next to the love river”

We stayed there for 4 nights for sigthseeing in and around kaohsiung. The room had a good size, but we expected more for this hotel. The fitnesscenter unfortunately has no windows and is on groundfloor. The pool is nice, if you don't mind people watching you either from the restauant or passing by from the street. We usually toom the metro from the other side of the river, which we guess is the nearest station. You can also walk to the night market, which will take about 10-15 minutes. All in all it was a good choice of the hotel, as the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great value and stylish”

This hotel is in a very convenient location, central to everything. It's clean, stylish and modern. The bed is really comfy. The free afternoon tea is a nice little surprise. The staff is also friendly and very professional. Highly recommend to anyone who comes to Kaohsiung and looking for a stylish place that has good value for money too.

Solid, Great in Fact”

Great staff as they are well trained. Room is good but the real deal is upstairs for food - as it's great. Highly recommend this hotel as I look forward to it when in Kaohsiung for certain. Great location as well.

Nice Stay”

We stayed one night at the Ambassador Hotel of Kaohsiung, its near the river, with tons of places to eat. Just that we weren't able to get onsite parking that evening, it was a long walk from the 2ndary parking location.

We had a great stay in Kaohsiung. Hotel is good & comfortable. MRT is within walking distance. Convenience store is round the corner. 2mins walk bring you to the famous Love River. Take a stroll or jog along the river, enjoy the morning breeze.

Nice view and staff”

I booked 3 nights and in different rooms with different price and room view. The staff moved my personal belongings to different room daily. The staff is very nice and the hotel room with love river view is fantastic. Had my thanksgiving dinner at the Cantonese restaurant on the 2nd floor. It was delicious. The hotel price is very resonable for a 5 star hotel. All was good.

location is good”

the hotel is good, centrally located, with a nice view of the river. it's easy to walk around, if one is lucky enough to avoid robbers (there are more robbers in kaohsiung than in other cities in taiwan). one major complaint is about the sichuan restaurant on the top of the hotel: the food they serve is not authentic. we ordered smoked cod but it turned out deep-fried. when we complained about it, the manager said it's deep-fried first and then smoked. it's simply not true. i hope the chef and manager there should be honest and stop telling customers that they serve smoked fish. we visited this restaurant before; the quality of their food used to be very good. what a pity that its quality is going down the drain!

Not bad”

I stayed at ambassador hotel for 1 night, the service is good, especially the bell man which tell us the nearest attraction to visit. The room is nice, large, clean, i can said is a basic needs for a five star hotel. Anyway, as the room is not come with the breakfast, so i think is a little bit pricey for me at kaosiung standard.
