We absolutely loved this hotel and the staff. Everyone was so welcoming and made our stay there special. The room was very large with its own patio. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had both a shower and tub. The breakfast was not a very large menu but the food was delicious.

I've been to Bagan total 4 times until now and this was my first staying experience at Ananta Bagan. The kind staffs and delicious meal, spacious room and warm water was all perfect. Especially thanks to Mr. Lyin, the hotel manager. It was the most joyful christmas holiday in Bagan during 2 days of short trip. I would definitely visit again here if I get chance to trip to Bagan again !

The staff was so so nice, nicest we had through our trip, very helpful. The rooms were great, spacious, so many nice details (free mini bar, fresh fruit, a real Nespresso machine, etc). The hotel surrounding (garden, pool, infrastructure) were beautiful. One of their masseuse was GREAT (Momna or Mumun - sorry for the spelling, its probably not that at all..). Good location for temple exploring.

Excellent hotel with great service”
A small hotel that outdoes it's competitors with small touches. Free mini bar of a couple of cokes and beers. A turn down bed service and mosquito spray ( not that there seemed any inside ) and a luxurious feel to the room with a large balcony area. The room was well equipped, safe, tv, a/c, good wifi, tea and coffee facilities, immaculately clean. Breakfast is taken poolside or in the dining room and consisted of juice, cereals, fruit, egg station, cheeses, hams, bacon, etc with several Asian hot dishes and tea or coffee. A very nice pool, enough sunbeds for the number of guests bearing in mind most people are out visiting sights and are only there for a few days. Pleasant helpful staff everywhere completes a very comfortable stay.

Please put a plug to charge a phone near the bed. Unsure the minibar can be cold enough, same for the Aircon that can be a bit under dimentionned. All the rest is really great!!

Great place to stay whilst exploring Bagan ”
As long stay guests (5nights) we were given lots of little extra freebies such as massages and a local dinner. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, breakfast was pretty good. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Would recommend.

4* choice at old Bagan”
They allowed me for very early checkin which is essentially important after 10hrs overnight bus ride, and exempted my on arrive breakfast charge (after certain negotiation as I booked for 2 pax room with 2 breakfast though I just checkin as 1 pax). But still the overall staff services is good and the room spaces is large enough for relax. They placed the thanaka + stone base at the room and I could experience the grind.

No soundproof at all”
First impression is hospitality of staff. Helpful and always answer my question with smile. Location is also good. Cafes, restaurants and convenient store nearby. There are also Tuktuk and taxi drivers waiting nearby at almost all times. Room has good amenities but insufficient lighting. I stayed here in 2 different rooms. Despite them being of same room type, they have different layout with one having significantly better layout and amenities e.g proper bedside tables, bathtub, soap holder within reachable height. With that being said, I would not recommend a corner room. The biggest issue I had during my stay is that the room is NOT soundproof at all. I could hear when the room next door was opening the doors. Someone in the room above walking or moving chairs. But the worst is the street noise. Cars honking starts before 6am and that woke me up before dawn. I didn’t get good sleep during my stays at the hotel.

Rooms are very dark, electricity only occasionally, room was clean but with a very strong smell, Gym in a bad condition, looks like staff has moved into some rooms of the former spa, pool area looks like unused since years E-bikes are double the price compared to other rentals

Nearly perfect”
This is my first time in Myanmar and my very first hotel stay in Bagan. I must say I’m very delighted and satisfied with the top notch service and best experience I had here at Ananda Bagan Hotel. Upon completion of booking with Agoda, they provide confirmation of booking promptly in less than 20 mins. Not only that, they also response in reasonable time on my following request including pick up service from the bus station. Lucky to say they got me a very good driver which I then hire to be my private driver in Bagan for one day (Toyota Premio car plate number CC-2211, I couldn’t recall the driver name). One of the reasons to ask for pick up service is to avoid having to negotiate cutthroat prices with taxi driver that will come to you the moment you got off the bus. As I went to Bagan from Yangon by bus, I arrive in the morning around 5:40am. My driver picked me up and I arrived at the hotel just after 6am, without I asking, they proceed to let me check in to my room with no extra charges. Ananda Bagan Hotel deserve a BIG THUMB UP 👍🏻 for this. Next up, the room is really spacious and clean! I’m not sure how long Ananda Bagan Hotel has been around, but everything in the room looks pretty new to me. Unlike usual practice where only drinking waters are on the house, Ananda Bagan Hotel provides two bottles of drinking water (1 liters each), two cans of coke and two cans of Myanmar beer, all on the house. Moments after settling myself in the room, apart from the usual welcome drink and wet towel which I received at the reception lobby, they send to my room a complimentary fruits (papaya, watermelon and honeydew), another shown of warm gesture by Ananda Bagan Hotel that catches my heart. On the breakfast included with my stay, they provide a decent mixed on their buffet lines and a numbers of local and western choices on the a-la-carte menu. The management, and Staff in all areas of the hotel were always conscious of making you feel at home. Location is minutes away to multiple restaurants. The staff’s caring and serving attitude was exceptional! We hired Kyle Ye Aung (09-451000673) in Mandalay to show us Mandalay for 3 days & then took us to Bagan. Kyaw drove us around to see all the major Pagodas, including Mt Popa in 4 days in Bagan. I highly recommend Kyaw as your personal taxi driver as well! Back to the hotel. Morning Breakfasts were delicious with extensive menus to serve people’s pallets worldwide! Hotel Guests will never want to leave once they check in at the Ananta Bagan Hotel!

Wonderful resort ambience and facilities”
The hotel has a resort feel and is really beautiful. The room and furnitures are spacious and tasteful (the bed is especially spacious). The private balcony is a nice place to sit in. Breakfast spread was fine. The staff are really nice, friendly, and helpful. Hotel is in the outskirts of Nyaung-U, and you can borrow their bicycle (for free) to cycle a short distance to town for meals (some nice trip-advisor recommended restaurants there) and to rent an e-bike (or you could rent e-bike from the hotel too). Old Bagan is a short e-bike ride away, and there are many temples along the way. The only problem would be that the water from the shower tends to overflow onto the bathroom floor, though that is a minor issue. All in all, highly reccomended place to stay in Bagan!
