Quite comfortable and relaxing”
I really enjoyed it. It was an older hotel but they kept it in good condition and the staff were really great. The room was large with a large bathroom and the breakfast was better than what we have had at other hotels around Myanmar. Overall, I was happy with what we got for the price and would stay there again when I visit Yangon.

Great Budget Hotel in a convenient location”
The hotel is a nice budget hotel that gives value for money in a central location in downtown Yangon. It is a 10 min walk to the nearby market, which is very convenient. The rooms are a bit worn out, but that is to be expected for a 3-star hotel. Overall quiet rooms and a decent breakfast is provided.

Very comfortable and convenient place to stay”
I stayed at the Asia Plaza for an extra night at the end of an Intrepid tour; the staff were very nice about arranging things so that I didn't need to change rooms. Both times I stayed (at the start and end of the trip) my room was very spacious, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Lots of windows with plenty of natural light, lovely breezes (or perfectly good air con if you prefer) and interesting views of the streets below. Good shower, with decent water pressure and hot water! I also really appreciated having a kettle for tea/coffee. Wifi was very patchy and tv reception was poor, but you can't have everything. Good buffet breakfast on the rooftop terrace area - also a nice place to sit and have a beer in the evening. Yes, it's overpriced and poor value compared with other parts of SE Asia, but considering the lack of options locally it's not a bad choice.

The hotel is great for location”
I stayed in the new wing which has been renovated. The room was large, clean and all the services worked. The hotel has so much potential if money was spent on it.There is a restaurant of sorts on the top floor with magnificent views of Yangon but the hotel does not promote it, no menus in rooms, why?.The wifi really only worked in the reception lobby. For the money, it's the cheapest hotel in Yangon, but you can not compare to Thailands hotels. The hotel is walking distance to Scott's market, hundreds of traders under the one roof, and downtown Yangon. The staff are helpful and I organised a trip and overnight stay to see the Golden Rock with the travel agency on the ground lobby. It was well worth getting a car and driver which included Bago.

Pleasant, professionally run hotel in perfect location”
My rooms have always been clean, large and nice. The staff is good, with ready smiles and enough English to get things done without a strain. The breakfast buffet is focused on Asian food, many of their clients are Asian, what do you expect? They will cook eggs if requested, have yogurt and fruit available, and the food is kept hot, which is a nice touch not very common in Myanmar. I have stayed there twice, will come back next time I am in yangon

Great location to stay”
This hotel is in a great location to explore Yangon from, the rooms and the hotel are very clean and functional- roomy, air con, fridge etc. however lacked atmosphere, I could have been in any country. Tourism is still quite a young industry and it was at times difficult to find an English speaker for assistance especicially as a solo traveller. The views of Yangon and shwedagon from the rooftop restaurant are wonderful.

Unavoidable stay”
We had to wait a night till our flight to domestic destination in Myanmar. A friendly lady at the information desk at international arrivals gave us few hotel names and approximate prices. We ended up choosing Asia Plaza as it seamed a good location on the map. Indeed it is a good location, its close to everything as the downtown of Yangon is relatively small. Our room was on high floor so the view from the window reached far as there are not many high-rises in the city. One can appreciate the 360 view of the city on the top floor (14) were breakfast is served. The downside of the hotel is cleanness, but that is an issue for the whole city. The room was reasonably clean, but the clumsy fit-out work and aged furniture makes you feel it's not fresh. Though I didn't see a rat in the hotel, I saw rat droppings on 12th floor hall along the wall, and lots of it on 14th floor where the breakfast is served (inside and even outside on the terrace). City has rodent problems, but it's inexcusable for a hotel especially food area not to deal with it, or at least clean it every morning. Also the breakfast is very poor. Scrambled egg or omelet is a safe choice. The staff is friendly, the door guys are friendly and helpful.

An Old Hotel in A good Location”
Asia Plaza hotel was probably the better hotel in the old time. it consists os 2 towers with one tower has been partly renovated and the other tower was closed for renovation. Staff had a very limited spoken english and simple conversation in english was quite a challenge. They were friendly though. Room size was good and could easily accomodate a family with 2 young children. Room condition was clean. However, the shower and toilet shower water pressure was absolutely terrible to have a proper shower. Breakfast was served on the 14th floor where one could have a good view parts of Yangon. Although the location was close to downtown/ bogyoke market etc, it was quite difficult to find a presentable restaurants. For other city standard, the rate we paid was quite expensive. However, hotels in Yangon are quite costly in the first place.

Excellent Location, Location, Location”
It was a very nice Hotel in perspective of location. I could reach some attractive places in downtown by walking. The room wasn't good condition in privacy because I could easily hear TV sounds from other rooms. I think this Hotel is valuable for money.

Rundown Hotel with Exhorbit Rates”
This is not only for Asia Plaza Hotel but for almost every hotel in Yangon. Due to the influx of tourists and outside business people going into Yangon constantly that the limited amount of hotels available had caused the accommodation prices to skyrocket to exhorbit rates. This made it difficult for the infrastructure to keep up with the increasing demand from tourists and outside business people. The hotel that I had stayed in was pretty rundown but still manageable but not for the price paid for. Heard that hotel prices were averaging about US$50 for this type of hotel in the past but due to the country open up and huge influx of people, that hotels are taking advantage of this to charge exhorbit rates. There won't be a hotel that will charge at a resonable rate so you got to go with what's available.

Very nice hotel in Yangon”
The hotel is in the heart of Yangon, very close to teh train station and restaurants, shops, clubs and markets. The hotel is in a very quiet area and the rooms are very comfortable. the breakfast is goodspecial and there many restaurants around with excellent food.

comfortable, convenient, basic facilities”
Asia Plaza is a basic, certainly not luxurious hotel. Booking through Agoda was certainly much more economic than the hotel's stated rates. The staff at the desk are all very friendly and eager to please. Easy walk to some of the major tourists sites.

Decent for Yangon”
Old building with scary Yangon elevators, moldy carpets and dim lighting. Room itself was huge and newly refurbished. Room was quite clean - some toothpaste in the sink and an orange peel in the trash - but not bad at all by Myanmar standards. Staff were competent and helpful. Breakfast buffet is not exactly impressive, but for Yangon it is quite good: some fruit, boiled eggs, toast, cornflakes, doughnuts and various Asian options. Wifi worked well.

Much nicer than I expected”
I expected this the Asia Plaza to be more of a backpacker-style hotel, so I was pleasantly surprised to find a fairly large, well-equipped family hotel with a large number of guests staying there. The room was very spacious, and the beds and bathroom were comfortable. I did have a few negative experiences, though: 1. There was no housekeeping service after my first night. After my second night when it looked like there would again be no service, I called the front desk, which sent housekeeping to my room within five minutes. After that, they came everyday. 2. Housekeeping was inconsistent. I had to call for a replacement roll of toilet paper after mine ran out, and on one day they only provided one set of towels instead of the usual two. 3. I tried to use the safe box in my room, but couldn't open it (it was locked). When I called the front desk, they brought up a replacement box, but that one wouldn't close. I gave up after that. 4. The breakfast buffet was sufficient, but items were limited and cold. I saw a rat run across the floor of the dining area one morning. 5. There is a nightclub at the hotel, but it's not advertised in the hotel literature. I just happened to see it walking around on my last day there. Despite the negative points, the hotel was larger and nicer than I expected, and I would stay there again in the future.

Electrical Problems, Old but Spacious Rooms”
The hotel had spacious but old rooms requiring an upgrading in furniture, carpeting, and other room conditions. Sometimes the air conditioning was unsatisfactory at cooling the room. There were a few times in the evening and the night where the electricity of the hotel just switched off. The location of the hotel is good in that it is near a street near the main area of Yangon, but bad in that there are many dogs that you can hear barking at nights. It is walking distance to a church, pagodas, government offices, other tourist attractions, and eateries. Most of the time wifi was present in the rooms, except for the times that electrical power disappeared from the hotel.

Great position.”
The hotel is in a great position to walk to most of downtown Yangon. Also has a great supermarket/ department store next door with a couple of cheap restaurants on the top floor.

Dear Alan, Thanks for your review and hope to see you again. Best Regards, Asia Plaza Hotel
Nothing spectacular!”
quite an interesting hotel and reasonable (not too expensive based on Agoda rate. It seems quite expensive for walk-in guests). Overall nothing extraordinary, just normal 3-star hotel. Not much activities in the hotel. Breakfast is simple and basic. Same newspapers being placed at the lounge during my 3 days' stay at the hotel. The only consolation is the area around the hotel is quite clean as compared to other parts of Yangon.
