GREAT STAY”

We had a great stay at Backpackers Hostel. We had trouble finding the place since it was down an alley. It's very close to Ximending district and walking distance from Ximen MRT station. The AC inside the room is super cold. The beds can feel flimsy when climbing up but the beds are soft and comfy (love that the comforters are thick since the AC can cool the room real fast) I just hope they provided a table or somethung where we can store our things. We ended up putting all our bags and souvenirs on the floor. We were also on the highest floor and it sucks to bring down luggage since theres no elevator. It's also a negative to go up and down the stairs in case you forget something. They have a coffee and water station. But towels, slippers and other amenities are for sale instead of being included on the price of the room. Our room alao had this weird exposed pipe thing so the water coming from upstairs can be heard. Theres also no breakfast included, not really a con for us since theres a nearby 7-11 which provided amazing food.

This is my first time staying at a backpacker hostel, the room is small but decent. Only thing to note is that the location is quite some distance away from ximen station (about 10-15mins walk) ps. There was no wifi on my first day of stay and even when they did the signal was very weak (i was staying on the 3rd floor), perhaps installing a router on every other floors will be nice? pps. No towel provided, though you could bought it for a small fee from the host.

This hostel is in the BEST location. Ximen is a very cool district with lots of bars, shops, theaters and restaurants in walking distance. The Ximen station is only a 10 minute walk as well. The room we had was very clean and affordable. The curtains around the beds provide privacy. Coffee and laundry in the basement was nice. The only downside was the stairs, but not a big deal because we're in shape. Anyone with mobile disabilities should note there is no elevator. Otherwise, great stay!

Nice place, Friendly staff and Good location”

The hostel is about 5 mins walk from Ximen night market. It is very good price with private bathroom. The space in the room is enough for unpacking 2 big luggage. However, wifi is not work in my room. But it's not a big deal. The staff is also helpful. I recommend you to stay here!

Worth Staying For Travelers ”

Pros : Have an underground open space for u to chit chat with ur friends , have tv/pc for u to use if u are bored . Cons : I dunno whether is my problem or whatever it is , the dryer seems to unable to dry the clothes that we wash even thought we set the temperature very high but there is a dobi near the hostel which is more effective n price is almost the same with the hostel . Overall : Quite small for a quadroom but it is backpacker anyway 😂(im not a backpacker), It is clean and location is good for u to walk around the night market , mrt and also have convenient store nearby . 😀

Cheapest hostel in town! ”

My family booked this hostel because it was the cheapest out of all the hostels we’ve searched. And it was near Ximending which is a plus points. The staff we’re very attentive coz we have a slight problem and they helped us. Near the Taipei Expo Park too! If you’re looking for the graffiti walls, you will find all of it here!

Exceptional”

Pros: - near the mrt ximen - affordable - accommodating staffs (they are so nice) they can speak english - the lounge )where you can eat with free coffee, tea and water - it has also laundry area/ service Cons: - no elevator (it’s okay if you are really just a backpacker but if you have a big luggage, struggle is real) but staffs are offerring a help. - there is an additional pay if you check in 11pm-6am depends on the time. We arrived there at 4am and it is closed and there’s no way you can enter,only guests with card key can enter. We don’t have the key yet since we haven’t checked in. Luckily for us, there’s a guy outside (he’s taking a phone a call) he let us borrow his key card then upon entering, there is no staff to accommodate us. There’s a phone number you can contact but we don’t have sim card yet for taiwan. Then the heaven sent guy called the number using his phone, we are so relieved that it was answered coz we are really tired that time. We are really thankful.

They also allowed some of our friends (staying at a different venue) to leave their luggage while waiting for their flights; other venues will not really allow this, but Backpackers was truly generous with providing help and comfort Secure - the place is secure and not in a crowdy place If there is anything to comment on as improvement -- it'll be about the pipes in the ceiling --- I know it's one of those new industrial designs, but it kinda needs a bit more of soundproofing. We always laught hard when we hear waters rushing through the pipes and comment "someone is taking such a long shower right now" LOL

Clean, convenient, worth the money”

I arrived in Taipei at 10pm, I actually requested for an airport transfer but no one from the hotel picked me up at the airport. They also did not inform me that they will not be able to pick me up so I waited for a couple of minutes until I decided to take a bus instead. From Ximen station, you can walk to the hotel, but I got lost because there were no visible signs. You can exit at 1, then walk straight ahead until after the intersection, from there, turn right (you will see Family Mart) then turn left on the lane going to the hotel. I arrived past 12mn at the hotel, the receptionist welcomed me. I booked for an all female bedroom. The room was nice, clean and smells good. The bathroom is tidy also and I loved that they have cold and hot shower. The bed has safe, plugs and personal light, and curtains too for privacy. The hotel, unfortunatelty does not give free toiletries but they sell at the lobby. Since I forgot my towel, I purchased one for NT150. Not bad! The hotel has pantry also where you can prepare your food, but no cooking though! They do not offer breakfast but you can buy and store your food in the refrigertor. You can use their other facilities like computer area, TV and lounge which I love because of the colorful sofa! I love the overall look and feel at the hotel! It's quaint and really clean and tidy. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and I highly recommend this place!

We rented a room for 3 person with a cheap price from Agoda's deal. New and modern hotel whose facilities are good. The staff is friendly. Room is clean and good standard. It's near MRT Ximending & Ximending night street for 5' walking. Good value !

Location ”

The location is very close to Ximending. Use Google maps to find this Hostel as it's located in an alley. Excellent place to stay and good value for money. Highly recommended for young travelers and backpackers.

Had a great stay in the hostel. Located in the heart of Ximending Night Market. I just love how near it was to all the shopping and food shops. The room was clean. The sheets were clean and had a very comfortable sleep in the room. Not too expensive also. Had a superb stay in a good price. Highly recommended.

Best Hostel Ever”

I just wanna give 10/10 for all staffs here. They are super friendly and always in a good mood 😁 and very helpful. Value for money, their room with private bathroom. There’s a living room underground. Facilities are for selling, but free shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom with hairdryer. Location is good, just 5-10 minutes walk from Ximending exit 6. Hostel staff working from 7 am to 11 pm. Check in time is 3 pm. We will definitely come back to stay here next time and hopefully there’ll not rain again 😆👍🏻🌧

The hostel is just a few streets away from the MRT station and the Ximending walking street with lots of shops, street food and restaurants. The staff were nice and very helpful (Tip: If you're a foreigner, you can buy discounted THSR tickets at the hotel). Overall, it is a nice value for money hostel with a great location.

Place is 10-15 min walk from Ximen station. Very near Ximen shopping area. Neighbors are residential buildings so it is quiet here. They have a lounge area with microwave, toaster, cold/hot drinking water, fridge, wash area, washing machines, even a projector! Hot/Cold for shower is also available. Towel is not provided so either bring your own our buy one at the lobby. No elevator. We were lucky we were at the 3rd floor and we do not have a very heavy luggage. We found out our toilet's light was not working at around 10pm, they fixed it immediately. You can early check-in and leave your bags at the lobby same with check-out so if you still have a few things in your itinerary, you can go and come for your luggage before you head to the airport.

Worth to stay ”

Overall, it's a good experience to stay at this hostel. It's slightly farer from the railway station or XiMen Ding but a walkable 5 minutes distance. The dormitory room for 4 persons are quiet small. It may be difficult for those who carry big luggage with them. Not sure if the other rooms the same. I would recommend you to stay if you have mo better choice. This is still not bad.
