Perfect location for the golden rock ”
Very nice western standard rooms, gorgeous bathroom. Perfect location for the golden rock, located next to the bus shuttle to get you up the mountain. Only bad thing is the breakfast was absolutely pathetic. Buffet set out but no actual buffet, you could pick rice or noodles. Definition of all the gear but no idea!!

Bang in the centre of Kinpun, with trucks up to Golden rock mountain and pickups down to Kyaihtio both just steps away from hotel. Nice and comfortable room. If the price is acceptable for you, this is a convenient options to stay at.

Super clean, and right in the centre of town, next to the truck station. Noise was incessant though, all night. Unless you can sleep through anything, or have fantastic earplugs, do yourself a favour and choose one of the other limited options.

Unexpected situation”
Well, I thought I would stay at the main building but they sent my family to a resort which a bit far from the building and the resort is closed to the checkpoint which is so noisy from truck and car horn

Great central location with wonderful staff”
I stayed at the Bawga Theiddhi for one night while visiting Golden Rock Pagoda (Kyaikhtiyo). Centrally located at the base of the mountain, it is very closer to both the bus station (if you want to take a bus up the mountain) as well as the base of the hiking trails (if you want to hike up). This was perfect for me so I could unload my backpack at the hotel before heading up the mountain. You cannot see Golden Rock from the hotel, meaning you will have to be sure to be up the mountain and at the pagoda if you want to catch it at sunrise/sunset) or lit up at night - with the entrance fees for foreigners to get inside the pagoda, you may end up waiting around for the sun to set. However, the prices you pay at Bawga Theiddhi are far more reasonable. I was able to watch the sun set at golden rock then head back down to base camp for dinner at one of the many choices of open air restaurants in the village. In the morning I walked around the village browsing the various stalls selling souvenirs, snacks, clothes, etc (and at more reasonable prices than up top). The hotel itself is very clean and the rooms are very spacious. I had wifi connection more often than not but not always. Didn't have too much hot water in the evening, but had enough warm water early in the morning to shower and wash my hair. A couple notes of caution: the lights from the hallway stream in through cracks in the door so if you need a dark room to sleep this might not be the place for you. Also, I got woken up around 3 am by what sounded like a throng of locals doing construction outside my window (trucks coming and going, people yelling at each other) so if you are a light sleeper and/or need a full night's sleep you will be taking your chances by staying here. Breakfast, included with the room, is either fried rice or fried noodles, plus coffee/tea/juice etc. Overall, a really pleasant experience that I would not hesitate to recommend to others.

Comfortable hotel with easy access”
Stay at the hotel was good. Nice hotel and I would like to recommend it to anybody wnts to visit Mt. Kyaikhtiyo. However the booking through Agoda created problems for me. I reserved 3 rooms for my group and paid through Agoda using Paypal. Payment went through and I received the receipts. However when I arrived at the hotel they told me that they have been paid only for one room and all other rooms are occupied. This put us into a very embarrassing situation. Fortunately we had the receipts of our payments. After showing the receipts we managed to get the other two rooms, however only after a lot of arguments and wasting of time. The hotel is not to be blamed, however Agoda as a booking agent should take better care of their customers.

Very Good, Nothing to Complain”
The stay is good. It is in close proximity to the bus station where it is the only mode of transport to see the Floating Rock or Golden Rock. Breakfast is reasonable. The room is clean with comfortable bed and nice toilet. There is also wifi available with cable TV too. It is also close to the market where you can buy local tit-bits and savour some local food. It is exactly in the center of the town, so locating it is a breeze for a foreign visitor. Overall comment, a must stay hotel in Kyaikhtiyo.

Located at the base of Golden Rock, the location can't be beat. Coming from Yangon on a 8:30pm bus and arriving at Golden Rock at 12:30am, I just wanted to wash up and get straight to bed. You literally step off the bus and the hotel is right there (remember to get a bus to Kinpun, which is the mountain base. Kyaiktiyo is about 15 minutes away). I was pleasantly surprised by the facilities, it was absolutely sufficient for a night. AC was on blast when I entered and more than enough room for one person. Having stayed at hostels before, the shared bathroom was fine, it was clean and spacious with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. I've seen much grimier places. I also had breakfast the next morning and ordered the stir fried noodles which was also very tasty! For a hotel breakfast in Myanmar, It exceed my expectations. Staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. Yes, this is more expensive than other places, it isn't a 5 star by any means and people just need to reset expectations. You are definitely paying a premium for the location here which is sandwiched between the trucks that take you up Golden Rock and the bus terminal to take you to other cities. It really can't be beat.

Very convenient, relaxing and enjoyable place”
My friend and I have been backpacking for 5 months, and initially when we booked this hotel we thought it would be average but we were pleased to find it's actually a very very nice hotel. The staff, who aren't fluent in English are so happy and eager to help. Service was great even when we arrived back from the golden rock at 11pm after walking down the mountain they cooked up a big meal for us. If you want a relaxing, clean, nice place to stay with good wifi and ideal location, literally over the road from the bus stop to go to the train station and next to the bus stop to go up the mountain to the golden rock...then opt for this place. It's the nicest hotel we saw in the area. I should also mention we booked a bungalow but they gave us a room in the main hotel.

I highly recommend this place”
I had a lovely one night stay here. The staff were extremely helpful in helping me figure out the route for my walk the next day, and showing me where I needed to go for various things. The rooms were very clean and well presented. I had the cheapest option, which had a shared bathroom, but this was also very well kept. Over all a fantastic hotel for the price.

Perfect for a tip to the Golden Rock”
We stayed here as part of an overnight trip from Yangon to see the Golden Rock, and it was absolutely perfect. We were initially booked into the Superior Bungalow, but when we were told this was about 15mins outside town, we asked to stay in a room in the central building, an our request was accommodated with zero fuss. The room itself was possibly one of the nicest we stayed in during our entire time in Myanmar, with a particularly nice bathroom. The resturant wasn't that impressive, but there are several nearby restaurants. The best thing: the hotel is directly opposite the transit hub to the Golden Rock, so it's easy to get there and back. Definitely recommended.
