Great location, Bad Lift Access”
First time staying at the hotel, the rooms were well prepared upon our arrival and clean although a bit old. The location of the hotel is very good and we do not have to drive out to look for food. It is only 800m away from the Gurney Street Food Hawker Center where you can find lots of delicacies. The only negative thing about this hotel is the lift access to the designated hotel rooms, it is very, very slow. While we are fortunate to stay at a high floor where we can get in the lift first when descending to the hotel lobby, there were several grumpy guests staying at the mid-level floors entering the lifts complaining about the speed and size of lifts. Hotel carparks (at level B2) were also very limited and it was full when we arrived. Hence, we need to park at a public area (level B1) where were charged RM4 flat rate if you are a hotel guest. The way to the hotel lobby from level B1 is freaking creepy and not well maintained and a little foul smelling. The hotel staff are great! Helpful and friendly, check in was efficient and we were given a room with a really nice view of Gurney. Thank you to the staff of Berjaya Penang Hotel for making our rooms great and memorable!

The deco of the room is ok, the view is nice, the bathroom is ok but i hope to get the bidet .. and free parking provided.. easy to access to town as well.

1. Location is very strategic - Within short distance to the famous Gurney Drive Food Centre and several other tourist attractions in Penang. 2. Staffs very very helpful, courteous and friendly. 3. Compliance to COVID Prevention SOP were very much in order and strictly adhered which gives a very safe feeling throughout the stay 4. A very decent spread of local and other cuisines during breakfast including safe measures in ensuring prevention of potential COVID spread with issuing of disposable gloves, sanitizing of seating facilities plus safe distancing. 5. Overall, it was a very good value for the price and a pleasant stay that surely deserves a thumbs up in recommending this hotel to others.

bell boy was very friendly in explaining the services and helping us to take up the luggages. there is a free carpark, swimming pool. room is clean and enough toiletries. the breakfast is free and got everything you need for breakfast from english breakfast to local breakfast. bang for the buck !

I went there for a conference on August. The sales manager is very nice and helpful. The room is spacious and clean. Food during lunch is very delicious even though the choice is quite limited. Be careful not to park at the front hotel because you need to pay for the parking charge. Free parking for the hotel is at the basement. Walking distance to shopping mall (suitable to exercise). Will stay here next time.

I stayed 2 nights and the junior suite is spacious and clean. Many guests stayed there because it is affordable and worth staying at Berjaya Penang. The staff are friendly and helpful. Buffet was cheap and good. I would definitely stay there again.

Since we made our bookings at a very last min because our flight rescheduled by the airlines, we decided to stay for 1 night at Berjaya Penang Hotel. Its price is affordable compared to other options that we had. It was a bit off because one of the towel provided has stain on it. And it was a bit confusing with the basement parking since we entered at the wrong parking entrace and we couldn't find the hotel elevator. We're supposed to enter at the second entrance where we are allowed to get a free parking for hotel visitors. The thing that I will look most when I stay at any hotels is the shower water pressure. Here at Berjaya Penang Hotel the shower water pressure is strong. 👍🏼 Nasi lemak including its sambal that was provided during breakfast at the hotel restaurant was delish! Kudos to the chef. Overall, the rest was okay and acceptable considering it is an old hotel.

Walking distance to almost everywhere malls, food stalls. I love the Catholic Church was walking distance. The room was clean & comfort. Too bad my room was in front of spare lift exit, which use by housekeeping. The door was bang loudly every time. The furniture, bathroom stuff were old. But still ok for me. Oh ya, there's a lot of black ants. Hotel should spend on the terminator at least. Too bad near by shop lots, many closed due pandemic, I hope the business will continue grow, so future we have a lot of choices nearby to visit. The breakfast buffet were just nice & enough, though every day almost the same menu.

Had a wonderful stay at Berjaya. This is one bus away from Georgetown main, but this is a stone throw to the Pulau Tikus area with great food and good cafes. There is also a bus stop in front of the hotel for easy access to public transportation.

Worth every penny. Strategic location, although it’s an old hotel, all are good. Stayed for 2 nights. Will come back. Make sure to inform them if you don’t want to make up the room, because we found out our room has been cleaned up even tough was not told so. It’s good if been informed earlier, but all okay.
