Great stay for price, excellent location”
I spent a total of 14 nights at Casa Loma. I booked a queen room with shared bathroom because it was cheaper than the a room with a bathroom. I'm glad I did it this way because: 1. the rooms without bathrooms are bigger than the rooms with bathrooms (the bathroom takes up a lot of space), and 2. I never had any issues with waiting for a toilet or shower. They were always available when I needed to use them. They were cleaned daily. The hotel is what I would describe as cozy and basic. The rooms are nice enough for non-fussy travelers, and have everything you need for a comfortable stay - comfy queen bed, fridge, microwave, sink, wardrobe, TV, mirror, bedside tables, good WiFi). There is no elevator in the building so if you have a lot of luggage this may be a sore point for you. The hotel is extremely well located in a safe area. It's an easy walk to Haight-Ashbury, public transport is available virtually at the front door, and there are supermarkets and great restaurants nearby (within 5min walk). If you can't go without a morning coffee, there is a free coffee machine in the reception area. I am currently not having caffeine so I can't confirm the quality of it but the hot chocolate is decent for a freebie (if not just a little sweet). Besides this, there are no other shared facilities - no communal places to hang out, gym, laundry etc. I've found all of the staff to be very kind and helpful. When I called to report a few things that weren't functioning well in my room, they came to deal with them very quickly. They've been accommodating with luggage storage and helped me with some tips about the area. I would absolutely stay here again. It has a good vibe as far as I'm concerned and that makes up for the no-frills nature of the place.

Exceded my expectations for the price”
Didn't have high hopes for this hotel due to the price being significantly lower then others in the area. However I was plesently suprised. Room was good size, had a microwave, sink, wardrobe, phone, fridge, TV, plug sockets and 10w USB sockets next to the bed, reception was helpful and checkin was a breeze, also daily maid service. Although bed seemed quite firm when I first sat on it I actually had a really good night's sleep each night, pillows are perfect aswell. In my whole stay I didn't see anyone use the showers or toilets and they were always spotless. Cons: the room does need some TLC and there were a few stains on the bedding however it still looked and smelt washed and room was overall clean. Microwave in room however never used it as there is no cutlery. There is a coffee machine in the reception and it's made some of the nicest coffees I've ever had but you can only use it in the morning then it gets turned off which is a shame. Room was very hot aswell so window open the whole stay. Also couldn't get lamps to work next to bed.

I had a lovely three-day stay in Casa Loma. Rashni was very accommodating to me when I arrived early in the morning. She prepared a room for me before check-in time and also assisted me even up to my last day when I checked out. I found my stay to have a really homey touch as staff were very thoughtful and pleasant. The fact that it was also near bus stops and great restaurants made my trip worthwhile. The queen bedroom I got was enough for one person, which included ample space for my luggage and carry-on. The bathroom was clean as well when I arrived. I'd like to stay again in Casa Loma when I'm back in San Francisco. It's in a quiet part of the city and a good respite from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Good value and location”
You get what you pay for, and I mean that in a good way. If you just need a bed to lay your head, this place will do the trick. The location is secure and in a good neighborhood, with transit stops nearby. The shared bathrooms were clean and stocked. My biggest gripe is the lack of fan or any kind of temp control available in the room. I opened the window to get some airflow and used my white noise app to block out the sounds of the other guests. I only stayed one night, which is a small sample size and maybe I got lucky, but you really can’t beat the price for a bed in a locked room.

Perfect cheap place”
It's a cheap and reliable accomodation. Right in the center, it's easy to go to everywhere with public tranport. The room has a comfy bed, wardrobe, sink, microwave and a fridge. The bathrooms were clean and tidy most of the times and enough hot water in the showers. It has 3 levels, but no elevator, so if you're not good with stairs go on level 1. Staff were nice and they kept our child seat and stroller at the reception. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again
