Chaiin Hotel is a very comfortable and convenient place to stay in Taipei and a great value. The hotel is located right above the recently completed Dongmen MRT station, which allows you to get from the hotel to just about anywhere in the city either directly or with at most one transfer. The famous Din Tai Fung and the other Yongkang St restaurants are right across the street. The hotel is new, stylish, modern, and spotlessly clean. The rooms are not large, but they are well thought out and very well appointed. My executive room with window (about €75/US$100 per night for 7 nights) was on the 10th floor. It had a double bed, lots of light and decent views with huge windows (and good curtains), and was probably about 16-17 m2 (180 sq ft) including the bathroom and dressing area---more than enough space for the business traveller or a vacationing couple. It had every amenity that one could want and did not feel crowded because the space was well organized. My room rate included an excellent breakfast buffet including western items but with the best variety and quality on the Taiwanese side. The food was truly excellent. The staff were all very professional, friendly, and helpful and all spoke good English.

The buy in of the hotel is their location, being right beside Dongmen station ( red line) fron Main Taipei station. Transpo is convenient. Mrt is right in the airport and ride to main taipe station is free for arriving passengers! Its really nice way of promoting the tourism in Taiwan. Mrt is operating up to midnight. So in our case, we arrived pasr midnight, so we waited for daylight before going to the hotel. Check is fast, we left our luggage, roam around and came back at 3pm to rest in our room. Right along and in front of the hotel are shops and food stores. We arrived dawn of friday. Foreign exchange is open in the airport, we just exchange $100 USD to NTD. Suggest you exchange minimal amount in airport, even $20-50, will do. Just enough amount for you to reach your hotel. Met fare is only NTD20 from Taipei main to Dongmen station. It is best to exchange in Taiwan bank, which is located very near Chaiin. Turn rigjt as you exit the hotel, cross the stoplight, then cross again.

I come to Taipei on average twice a year to visit family, so naturally we pick hotels which are relatively close to the residential area where my brother lives. And that often means a hotel which is a bit remote and less equipped to cater for international tourists. Chaiin is none of those. We were pleasantly surprised when we got off the taxi to find that it was right above the MRT (Dongmen Station) and across from Yong Kang Street, where great shops and eateries (both street stalls and restaurants) can be found. If you get up early enough, the fruit market just behind the hotel would be a treasure trove for the wonderful Taiwanese fruits. Having stayed in so many hotels in Taipei, the breakfast buffet of Chaiin was undoubtedly one of the best. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Convenient, Comfortable and Affortable”

This is my second time staying at Chaiin Hotel - Dongmen. The location of the hotel was excellent and it was only 1-minute walk away from the metro station, which has a direct line to the Taipei Station. The room was clean, comfortable and the size was reasonable. Every thing in the room functioned perfectly. The only downside of my second stay would be a slight deterioration in quality of the breakfast provided. When it was my first time around this hotel, the breakfast was amazing and guests would have a lot of different food to choose from and there was a significantly decrease in food choice this time. I hope they would go back to providing more different kinds of food as I definitely would choose this hotel again next time I'm in Taipei.

I have stayed in Chaiin hotel - Dongmen for a couple of times over the past few years and there is no hesitation for me to return to this hotel every time I visit Taipei. The room that I stayed in this time, as usual, was clean with a roomful of fully functional appliances. What impressed me most was the service though. The staffs were helpful and polite. Seeing me as a solo female traveler, the staff not only helped me call for a cab late at night (around 1-ish o'clock), they even left the reception unattended and accompany me to go down to the street to wait for the cab. It was an amazing touch that I have not even expected.

Superb Location”

The biggest selling point of Chaiin Hotel - Dongmen would be its location, it is within 1-minute walk to the nearest Metro station and it is easy to find even if you are a foreigner. In the neighborhood is a market/commercial area in which one can find many street food, restaurants and other shops. The hotel was pretty new and the rooms are comfortable and clean, with a reasonable size and price. All the electric appliances (TV, refrigerator, coffee making machine, etc.) were in good working condition and a big plus is that the wifi in the room and lobby are quite fast. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would choose this hotel again next time visiting Taipei.

We really enjoyed staying at Chaiin Hotel. We brought our bikes so we were looking for a larger room since we had so much luggage. Location was great...right above the Dongmen MRT. MRT is very easy to navigate to get around Taipei. The hotel room was clean with a nice view. Free Wi-fi, breakfast included, very reasonably priced.

Great hotel in a convenient location”

I stayed at the Chaiin Hotel for a week and found almost everything to be perfect. The location is very convenient--both in terms of its proximity to Taipei 101 and other sites and to local restaurants and markets--and the rooms are well-equipped and clean. (Note: I did make sure to book a room with a window on a higher floor though, and the view was a big part of why I enjoyed my stay so much.) The interior design was also great, as was the bathroom, lighting, and number of power outlets. I found the Wi-Fi to be a little bit slow, but a LAN connection is also available and you can get a LAN cord from the front desk. The front desk staff were extremely polite and accommodating, as were the cleaning staff. I'll most likely stay here again the next time I'm in Taipei.

Good location compact hotel”

I'd chosen Chaiin Hotel - Dongmen for its superb location,just above the newly opened Dongmen MRT station, which connects to various attractions. It is also location just opposite the popular Yongkang Street which offers a number of good local food and desserts, and the nearby Shida night market. The hotel lobby is not on the first floor, which is a norm for hotels in Taipei but the front desk was fast at processing my check in. I'd gotten the standard room, which is pretty small in size but it is enough for 1 person. Imagine there is not much walking needed from the main door to the bed. For those who just wish to have a night of rest and then head out to venture Taipei, this hotel should be a good choice. The breakfast was pretty decent, with typical Taiwanese breakfast spread.

Great location, pleasant experience”

Chaiin Hotel was conveniently located at the entrance to the Dongmen MTR station and a stone's throw away from YongKang Street - a famous food street. We found a lovely tea house there called Hui Liu. However, there's only one lift, which meant we often had to wait to get to our floor. Friends we were traveling with commented that level 6 had a bit of a sewage smell problem. But otherwise, the rooms were clean and comfortable. A pleasant experience overall - I would recommend this hotel.

I stayed there for 7 nights and I absolutely loved my time there at Chaiin Hotel. Stayed at level 8 and there were no noise disturbance. Room was clean and tidy. The staffs were super friendly whenever we approach them for anything! Traveled mostly with MRT and it was so convenient since the entrance is literally just downstairs. And there are so many famous eateries nearby the hotel ie Yong Kang Street! Breakfast was simple but yummy and definitely suited my taste of a lighter breakfast. But they do have other options like rice and dishes if you prefer to have a heavy breakfast. Overall, I will definitely stay here again if I visit Taipei!

Perfect location and excellent little room”

The location of Chaiin Hotel is simply perfect; right above the metro stop Dongmen and right inside the Yongkang district with ample cafes, restaurants, fashion boutiques and more. The room itself was small but clean and we had everything we needed. Staff was very helpful and better trained than most hotels of similar size and rating.

Recommend for Solo Travelers”

Chaiin hotel has a perfect location at Dongmen station (Exit 8). The rooms are small but clean. As a solo traveler, I found it perfect but if you’re traveling with a wife or girlfriend I will recommend something slightly more upscale. Major disappointment in the room was a lack of closet and absence of safe deposit box. The staff was helpful and house keeping wonderful. Breakfast is good, while there are many local dishes, it will be good if there is a western scrambled eggs type option that is served throughout the day. I found it only one day during my 4 day stay.

Wonderful stay. It was my 2nd time staying with Chaiin Hotel - the first time shortly after they opened half a year ago. The staff was great, and this time they are even better as they get more familiar with everything ranging from the facilities of the hotel to customer service. Awesome experience - you get great service including delicious breakfast (with exceptional coffee) and an Art gallery running along the stairway, not to mention the nearby Yong Kang Street which is full of bookshops, boutiques, traditional restaurants, street food, dessert shops and a great morning market just behind the hotel. 2 convenient stores (7-11) are at each end of the street. At this price? You can't find another one like this. Highly recommend it.

Excellent hotel”

The hotel is great for families with small children. I have never stayed at a hotel that is so close to the mrt. The famous CKS Memorial Hall is in walking distance. Buffet breakfast is good, staffs are friendly. Yongkang Street is just across the street with all day good food. It would be perfect if the hotel offers air con control description in English (now merely chinese lettets), a make up mirror and a hook to hang clean clothes in the bathroom. But overall Chaiin Dongmen is a great hotel!

The location is superd to us who wants to stay near to Yong Kang & Qin Tian Streets. It is next to Exit 8 (Dongmen Post Office) of Dongmen MRT Station. Plenty of food and nice streets / local community to visit to. The Dongmen Market is less than 100 steps away which is an interesting place to visit, some local delicacies there eg. braised meat rice, soup noodle, dumpling & etc are very yummy. The room itself is big for the price paid and it is clean & comfortable (only complaint is only one pillow is provided for each of us). Toiletories are complete. Breakfast is simple yet sufficient, we skipped most of the breakfast in order to fill our stomach with local breakfast found outside (eg. Yong He Soya Milk which is located near Da An MRT Station which is 2 stations away from Dongmen Station is very good). Yong Kang Street is just across the road of the hotel. Can try to walk further from there to Qin Tian Street which is a nice area too. Will definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Comfortable, clean and great location. I wanted to stay in this area for the food that's available and was not disappointed. The bed and the bathroom facilities were fine. The hotel is right on top of exit 8 from the MRT station which was very handy. There is a nice day market down the alley from the hotels entrance which offers food, fruit and merchandise. We went there twice and stocked up on souvenirs. The hotel's breakfast was nothing to rave about which did not bother me because I was looking forward to the food offered in the Yongkang area. I will say that the toast, cereal and cappuccino were good. They provide 2 keys and one can be left in the rooms power switch so the refrigerator and air conditioning continue working while your out. Always enjoy staying at Chaiin, because of its great location and closeness to Dongmen station. Nearby beef noodles shop is our favorite. Room is clean and tidy, quiet at night for a good sleep. Staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for those who would like to explore Dongmen and nearby area.

We stayed at Chaiin Hotel -Dongmen for 4 nights total. Great room, really clean and nice. AC working really well, make sure not to set temp too low or it will get COLD! Lovely staff at the lobby who let us check in early in exchange for registering as members (I forgot the name of the club/membership), as well as helping us do some express laundry. Good Wi-Fi all across the hotel as well. Only real minor complaint, was breakfast. It's not bad at all, but at times slightly too sweet, and if you're having a late breakfast things like milk and bread can run out. The kitchen staff will kindly assist you with that if you ask however! 8/10 would visit again!
