Where to stay in Fes
Fes hotels & accommodations
The hotel is very modern and nice. Our deluxe rooms with direct access to the swimming pool were large and beautiful. The Acqua di Parma products is a nice touch. The hotel is a bit disorganised. We had some issues at the time of booking, which took a few emails to resolve. The very expensive New Year's eve gala was nice but not worth the €150 per person. We asked for ...
I booked two nights at Laaroussa after just 10 minutes of hotel research for Fez because of its glowing reviews. No regrets! And I shall add another. Friendly staff Rajae, Karim, Anwar and Mr Porter - they were ever so helpful. Fatima, the chef - oh my, best meal I had in Morocco for sure. I don’t like lamb and I finished every bit of her lamb tagine. The riad is gorge...
The facilities are a bit outdated. However, it’s clean and offers great value for money. Probably one of the best places to stay in Fes if you are looking for a convenient location outside the hustle and bustle of the old town.
Superb riad with excellent staff!
Noordien welcomed us so warmly and maintained the friendly, helpful and professional service throughout. Thank you again Noordien. The setting was quite breath-taking....the fountain, plants and trees in the courtyard as well as the beautiful authentic decor created a typical Moroccan experience for us. The breakfast was substantial and delicious. Thank you to the k...
The hotel for the price is good, nothing luxury but a comfortable bed to sleep in a clean room with tv and light breakfast is served (nothing fancy, but it does the job for a start to the morning)....hot eggs on request, bread, tea/coffee, yogurt, juice........cutlery is normally limited and refreshed every few minutes. I thought booking with Agoda meant everything is...
I LIKE THIS HOTEL
Our stay was superb in a hotel converted from a palace. The most wonderful moment was being hosted by the owner, Mr Driss & his family, during our last night. The famous Moroccan hospitality was displayed by all the staff in their service in every room in the hotel. The breakfasts were excellent, diverse range of foods. Our dinner on the terrace was divine. The signa...
I arrived late at Fez, so this hotel is very practical as it's situated besides the main train station (in new town area). However if you're looking for authentic Morocco experience, you have to try riad. although, from this hotel, u can take a taxi (20dh) to old town, in 15min. Still, most convenient place to stay if you're looking for short stay and using the tr...
This is an absolutely beautiful hotel with outstanding staff. Will definitely stay again if ever in Fes.
We loved everything about this place. Our room was beautiful, the water was hot, the air conditioning worked very well. The staff was friendly we had so much fun with them. The pool was clean and refreshing, unlike other hotels we stayed at in Morocco. Breakfast was delicious, traditional with pancakes fruit honey toast. The view from the roof was lovely. I would reco...
Moundir and Ahmed provided excellent service and advice. Location easy to access (look up on the walls of the Médina and follow the signs-ask shopkeepers the first trip) and convenient. Lots of shops, food, donkeys along the way. The room was comfortable and nice shower, great aircon. Lounge/breakfast room beautifully decorated. Nice breakfast and good coffee prov...
The Riad Sara was a cozy and beautiful place to stay. Siad was lovely, accommodating, and kind to interact with during our stay. There was just a bit of trouble finding it at first because it was down a very small dark street.
The Hotel is located very close to the Center, so you can easily walk. The rooms are big, clean and have everything you need. The only thing, which could be better, would be a softer matress;)- it was a bit hard. The stuff is supportive and friendly
We've chose this Riad as is our first holiday in Morocco so me and my partner want to enjoy the moroccan experience and I'm so glad we did. It is down on a quiet little street and is beautiful inside and has a lovely roof terrace. We stayed 2 nights and Mbarack couldn't have been more helpful. He is speaking excellent English(and many more:Italian,Spanish and many more...
Breakfast could be better, orange juice is not fresh and the offer only a boiled, margarine and honey with a lot of bread and ”Morocco pancake and donuts”. Staff is very very polite and friendly. No restaurant close
This was the best experience I've had in Morocco. When in Fez, THIS is the place to stay at. I can't praise enough about Ahmed's hospitality. He was most helpful, friendly and professional from the very beginning. It might be a little challenging to find this place at the first time - so don't forget to call ahead of time and Ahmed will meet you at the taxi stand/squar...
The owner is so nice and friendly and the room is spacious and nicely decorated. The dinner offered is a must try . The owner help us booked the airport transfer and day tour .
This is one of the best places I have ever stayed, it is absolutely beautiful everywhere you look. The staff are helpful, extremely kind and make you feel relaxed and as if it is your home. The food was by far the best food we tried in Fes, we were lucky enough to meet and dine with the owners who were very welcoming, shared incredible stories, gave lots of help and ad...
The receptionist who checked us in and showed us to our room was very nice. We were lost in the city and couldn't find the way to the hotel, when we called the hotel they came for us immediately, they took care of our luggages. Even that we came late, they served us a very good dinner. The man who worked there, Junior, was very helpful, giving us the advices what to v...
Pros are location and there is a restaurant on site a gym and an outdoor pool and bar. The bed and room were comfortable. The restaurant had nice decor as did the lobby area. Cons are despite being 4 star spa staff cannot speak English properly; lifts are really slow; there are no irons available and staff are entirely unapologetic about this; food was not particularl...
The only negatives I experienced were that some rooms are very noisy (room 5 is above the main entrance door) and the breakfast could have more variety (but it’s fine if you stay only 1 day).
It is really close to everything in the Medina. It is obvious that if you are going to stay in the Medina you have to walk a little bit from your taxi to the hotel through the Zoaks about 200 meters. The hotel has a services to help you with your luggage from the main street (taxi delivery) to the hotel (don't panic is really close and the hotel worths every euro)
Riad with a luxurious feel, so beautiully decorated. This was my favorite riad during our time in morocco. The showers had amazing water pressure and had plentiful hot water (very important during the winter!). Mary was not as helpful as some of the other riad hosts with respect to her knowledge of Morocco and English, but she was very nice and respectful! Great breakf...
The place is bautiful and clean. Location is good, around 10 minutes walk to the Blue Gate (with budget restaurants) and taxis and stop right in front of the hotel. The staff and the owner/manager, which is the best part of our stay, gave us a map and introduced us to the Medina. They also recommended and arranged Hammam massage, local tour guide, and a dinner for us w...
This hotel is near Médina and it’s easy to find it. Sana and Hasna, they are staffs there, have amazing hospitality! Rooms are clean, shower is good enough even in winter. And we can get welcome tea and good breakfast! Actually I really like it. When I come back to Morocco, I’ll definitely stay here again!
Riad Le Calife was our FAVORITE riad in our 10 day trip through Morocco. The attention to detail and the design of the hotel was amazing! We loved the owner, Fatima - this riad truly seems to be a labor of love! The location is ideal - a great place to return to after the craziness of Fes. All of the staff is very helpful. We stayed in the Amethyst room, and loved...
The staff were very accommodating, will help arrange a ride from airport 15euro taxi & be ready to have some 20 dirhams to Pay the guy who will haul your luggage to the hotel since the road is so rugged & dusty. Exchange money at the airport as most stores accepts dirhams only , a few accepts euro. We hired a taxi to give us a tour for 2 hours for 200 DH and it's worth...
Very fine and pleasant stay. Good service. Keep it up. Will come again.
I can't express how much we enjoyed the Riad Anata. The place is of course extremely beautiful and done well but I must praise especially the team who looked after us. Mustafa and Samira were incredibly gracious, accommodating and all around lovely people. I travel all the time for work and rarely have I experienced so charming hospitality. We were made to feel like f...
Cheap places to stay in Fes
Very friendly staff who helped organised an excursion for us (though do try and haggle as they make commission) to Merzuga and the Sahara which was amazing. Very close to fez blue gate and allows you to explore the medina, the room had air conditioning which was great. Overall 4/5
I arrived very early around 8am. Although I couldn't check in yet, the staff was nice to let me have a much-needed shower. buffet breakfast is awesome. the dinner is also the best I had in Morocco. The chicken tajine is soooo soft unlike the ones I had outside. (you have to pay but it's worth it! !) a short bus ride from the bus/train station. The hostel is just out...
I had a lovely time here! Nordin is really polite and friendly, always there if someone needs help, although he seems very quite and reserved :) Showers were really good, great breakfast! highly recommended!
The hostel is in the medina and you can access to any attracting spots quite soon. The hostel is simple and good place for taking a rest without special facilities, but it is very awesome for this price. The thing is it costs you only this price, and you will find the place is comfortable and warm, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Also, the Moroccan breakfa...
We had a very nice stay at Dar Naima. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The price was excellent value. Although there are not many frills, the room was very nicely decorated with a great Berber carpet and had an incredible view over the Fes medina. Breakfast was one of the better hotel breakfasts, with a hot tajine of fried eggs accompanying some traditional Moro...

Staff were very friendly. Communication was good. I arranged a ride to and from airport. It’s close to many things and easy to navigate Medina with map or google maps on phone. Neighborhood seemed safe enough, and it’s not far from good food! Breakfast comes with the booking! When walking Médina, I suggest keeping to yourself, and learn to say la shock run = no thank y...
I had hard time finding the guesthouse. Not much English spoken here. Room is cold, shower and toilet can be improved. Didn’t get to eat the breakfast as I left early.
the house holder is super kind. strongly recommand
We stayed at this Dar for 14 nights during the period of the Fes Sacred Music Festival. We chose this Dar (house) for its location and proximity to the festival venues and its good ratings, all well deserved. We found that many dars and riads increase their prices during the festival period however this Dar did not. Our room with ensuite was spacious, very comfortable...

I love it, will come back with my family and strongly recommend it as a must stop in Fez. They are young and willing, and deserve lots of credits. I wish them the best in the future. Tah
We spent 4 nights here and it was great! Rachid and Fatima are both lovely hosts and Rachid in particular went out of his way to make sure that everything went smoothly for us, including arranging 2 excursions, helping with taxis, finding a restaurant for us and accompanying us around the medina (in the rain!) so that we didn't get too lost. He found a heater for us an...
Very kind host, comfortable room, I felt it was my home. And I always can ate good breakfast. It was a good hotel.
nice staff.cleanroom.near sightseeing spot. i recommend this hotel!
Very friendly hosts but don’t speak much English. Use google translator no problem. The place is very traditional Moroccan riad and pretty
This is an amazing little Riad and Ahmed and especially Mehdi are very good. They were helpful throughout and were able to take us to local Hammam and within a couple of days we were able to navigate our way around most parts with their help! The Riad is very close to Bab Guissa so taxis nearby to take you to New Fes (McDonalds, Pizza Hut etc) at will and very cheap. ...
My stay in the Bab Al Madina Hotel was really a very good experience . The Hotel is very well located, right in one of the main entrances to the Old Medina of Fez . There are a parking just facing the Hotel . Breakfast is great, for this level of price . Internet is very fast even inside the room . Leila, the reception girl, and Hazarira, the cleaning girl, are both ve...
Very old riad, making it a nice piece of history to stay in. Friendly staff, especially Hassan who was super helpful and wonderful. Not nearly as hard to find as everyone says - after the first time (which staff guide you through), it is easy. Comfy rooms, big bathroom - unusual for Morocco - and quiet and dark.
After a week of traveling in Morocco and feeling like nothing but a walking wallet, this guest house made us feel better about our time in Morocco. They walked us through a few of the scams, told us where was safe and where was not safe and when. They had an amazing breakfast for us, which was greatly appreciated after a week of every guest house tour group and hotel g...

Those staff are very friendly and helpful, small raid nice but outside is some noise because my room faced to the street, you can have fan, but small wind only. Walk to centre Medina, it takes about 10 mins. Nice stay there.
For a first timer in Morocco, we did not know what to expect. The place was more than we could have asked for. It had renovations done that gave a feel for Morrocan architecture. The staff was great! A bit hard to find, that's the only drawback. Be prepared for quite a walk from the blue gate. Won't mind coming back.
I stayed two nights at Dar Rbab. Finding this place by myself was impossible so i had to ask people and they were really so kind to take me to the riad, twice! (I admit i'm not very good at finding places in Medina). The staff was really helpful and kind, even took me to all the way to Bab Guissa in early morning when i left for Chefchaouen. The room itself is ...
I have to give dar lalla bouchra an excellent review because after many hours of travel from Zagora with my sick husband, my 3 year old and myself expected to arrive in the morning and were hoping to leave our bags at dar lalla before we could check in but we arrived at 0230 in the morning. We knocked on the door waking up everyone and even though the guesthouse was fu...
For a Dar in the heart of the Medina, this house was quite spacious and beautiful, modest and rustic. The rooftop has excellent views of the Medina and major sites.
Staffs in the hotel were really nice certainly , they helped us with the bus tickets so we could go on our trip without any happenings:) There was a heater in the room so warmest night in Morocco. Breakfast they gave us was very tasty, you should all eat it:)
The manager told me that there was electricity problem with the hotel and I was sent to a hotel nearby with a room without window and it stink. I wasn't happy with it but was told that it was only room available. So I had to take it if that was the best he could do. He was saying that it was just for 1 night but 1 night is 1/3 of my stay already. However, the next day ...
I never stayed so long in location for visit like I did at Familly Tazi.the stay was wonderful.the wife and kid was so very nice to my wife. The house keeper madame dirissia was so wonderful.Take everything.I will and we will get to FEZ and we gona book at Family tazi again.the breackfast soo good,we always order Diner on night. The photos of this hotel in no way prepared us for the actuality of the hotel, which had clearly started out grandly, but had deviated from the original plan. The 'spa' pools were empty, with only one small round pool open for use and the cleanliness of the water left a lot to be desired, as did the overall standard of cleanliness in the hotel. Considering how far it i...

wonderful place to stay for few days. Very clean and well kept RIAD , the owner is very fine Lady , very very huble and supportive and welcoming. Great price for such a wonderful time and at such a beautiful place. Recommend to all who looks for best places.
i was really enjoyed during staying in the hotel, and i extended my stay up seven nights, i left the hotel on 15/09/2012.
It's a very good Hotel, it's So Clean, the rooms are so big, the staff are lovely, they try to please us as much as they can. If when we extend the room for two more nights, they let us keep the room before they receive the new amend. I Recommend it to any traveller to Fez, I consider it the best Hotel in Fez, with a great Location.
The hotel is a bit old and they should renovate it. The breakfast they served is very poor in respect to the stars they declare. They provide snacks, corn flakes, bread, tea/coffee, scrambled egg and only one juice. No fruits or even no chicken and meat, no vegetables. We are really disappointed. But the stuffs are very friendly and cooperative. They are very amicable...
Exeptionally friendly people. Always ready to help, very kind service during breakfast. Free upgrade. Location nice and quiet and still really close (5min walk) to old medina.
I wish I could recommend this Riad. Unfortunately, none of the details have been worked out. Having staying in much cheaper Riads for the previous 2 weeks, we decided expected more. The place is obviously not busy, and this may be part of the problem. Bathroom floor was covered in long black hair upon arrival. Asked them to clean it again, but they didn't do a good job,...
I really felt taken care of - I was given all the explanation a tourist from Europe would need in Fes, Morocco. Had a great time there, thanks to the place I was staying in!
The room was very pretty and tidy, call the reception when you close to the gate he will send someone to bring you to the riad. They are willing to offer help and very kind to provide any kind of information. The staff Mohammed and Hassan are very kind and helpful, we had the best breakfast in fes around the whole trip in Morocco. We will definitely come again if we v...
A bit aged, fairly centrally located in Ville Nouvelle near the Centre Commercial Borj Fes, Menzeh Zalagh 2Boutique Hôtel & Sky does make sense for everyone who doesn't mind taking a taxi to roam around. Facilities are good, staff is helpful, food and beverages are okay and for the price we paid through Agoda it's value for money.

Poor maintenance, extremely over priced. Will never return to it.
I requested for a partial refund of money paid in advance for a reservation from 24th August to 1st September, and it was declined. The hotel should be sensitive to unavoidable changes in schedule and adjust the cancellation/refund policy accordingly.
Very nice, cosy, comfortable hotel with super friendly & helpful staff.
Oasis with incredible owner, staff and facilities best recommendation as possible.mohammed and hakima are the best Definitely the right choice. Everything was great. It's a paradise in the Medina

Very interesting and historical city to visit; lots of things to do and see; lots of culture; unfortunately, also a lot of beggars!
The city's main attraction is the old medina. The best way to explore it is to get lost and then accidentally come across some known place.
Fes is a very historical city where it has the oldest university and leather tannery in the old medina.
Fes offers a fascinating glimpse into the culture, history, and every day life of a large, active and well-preserved medina.
The people I met in the "new city" of Fes were very nice, however, my overall impression of Fes was significantly tarnished by the large number of belligerent, vulgar and rude touts and con men in the ancient medina who aggressively "prey" on tourists.
Be very careful with your belongings and do not trust the locals. There's always a plan to wring money out of you, such as unsolicited guides whom turn up every corner.
Very interesting place and completely different to Marrakech. A lot calmer, but still things to see and shopping in the souks.
