Florence hotels & places to stay

This is our third time stay in C-hotels in Florence. Twice in Ambassador and once in Joy hotel around the corner! Don't know where to start or stop complimenting this hotel as we are just in love with staying here every time. Excellent staff, special mention to Matteo at the front desk as he was a legend this time round... location superb just across the train station and close to all amenities... Excellent Trattoria restuarant below next door which we ate at every day we were there!!! Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Florence:-)

Hotel Veneto was by far my most 3 comfortable nights stay in Florence . The only sad side, having to walk about 5-7mins from the Firenze Santa Maria Novella railway station (Florence railway station.) With it crackly tiny road, pulling my heavy luggage to this hotel was a real killing moment. But upon arriving to my room, from the tired face becomes happy face. The hotel management was very kind and engaging. He would list down the places I can visit and its best timing to visit. My king size bed was bigger than what I have expected, so it felt luxurious for me. Bathroom/toilet were a little small but they had all the amenities needed for my stay. They do change both towels and bed sheet everyday. What's even better was my room was situated on the ground floor just beside the breakfast hall and patio. It allow easy access to the breakfast hall in the morning. I will definitely book again when I visit Italy again. Thank you!! :D

The room was very spacious, bright and clean. It provided all the ammenities needed for a holiday in Florence including great storage and hanging space, very effective fan, comfy bed and a great view. The two windows are huge and we had a great view towards the Duomo and across the terracotta roofs of Florence. There's also a TV if you need one. The room is also tidied every day. The staff member who booked us in on Sunday 10th was very knowledgeable and friendly. Cons: the area is fairly central so there's a number of restaurants and outdoor areas with people socialising until late and in the morning there's quite an number of trucks and cars (I.e don't book if you're a light sleeper!). When tidied a belt was put in the cupboard (but nothing else was) so it was almost left behind as we didn't use the cupboard. The breakfast had pastries, bread and cereal. However the hot food was limited and cold. Majority of the breakfast spread was cakes and biscuits.

The location of the hotel was very convenient for us as we were traveling by train. It was on the street directly opposite the train station about 5 minute walk. The concierge was standing at the gate and helped us in with our luggage something we didn't experience in any of the 4 star hotels in Italy. Check in was quick. The room itself was very nice and clean and very modern and spacious. The best room we had in Italy 4 star hotels. Also the breakfast only includes what's on the menu and if you even order an omelette you would have to pay for it and you are not told about this when you place the order. They just get you the bill after they get the food. I was used to ordering an omelette without any charges so something to keep in mind. Rest of it was good. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

this is the best hotel we have stayed for our Italy trip. I can say this hotel is really out of our expectations and the design is really trendy and unique. Also, the location of the hotel is superb,, close to the central station as well as those sightseeing spots. Its so nice to stay here with my boyfriend. Everything is great except there is no lift to reach to fifth and sixth Floor. Since our room is on 6/F, we have to carry our suitcases and climb the stairs which is a little bit tough...but this really doesn't matter, we will surely recommend to our friends of this nice hotel in Florence!

My husband and I are traveling through Italy and this was our first stop. Unfortunately, the other hotels along our trip just don’t live up to this one! The amentities were great (your stay includes a nice sized gym to use, and access to the spa with very reasonably priced services), the hotel was so clean, chic, and centrally located (very convenient to get around), and the concierge staff was wonderful! Marta, Michael and another woman (I didn’t catch her name) were so helpful and not only made great recommendations for Florence, but also for Siena and Naples. The hotel rooms were also the most spacious that we’ve had, and the most comfortable beds. The bathroom was huge with his and hers sinks. I hope to get back to Florence some day and will definitely stay here again!

Hotel Duomo is right next to the Duomo in Florence. The rooms are beautiful, we are allowed to use the existing items in the room fridge with no cost. If one does not want to pay for the breakfast, you may still have coffee or tea any time of day or night for free. The staff is extraordinary: professional, kind, knowledgeable, helpful. I had one heavy bag and Sonia picked it up and carried it to the room for me. When I was traveling to Siena, I was able to leave my suitcases there until I returned to Florence the next day. The hotel is in the center of Florence: close to museums, restaurants, stores. Sonia, and all other employees were very helpful and kind. This is an amazing hotel in which to stay and the price is reasonable.

I stayed a day in Florence in this Hotel honestly by the end of my travels this has been the best places I've stayed the satff is so nice and give you the best optional routes to go site seeing and the recommendation they give you for the place to eat is spot on. Hotel is pretty clean, if there something they should.improve should be the size of the beads they where to small or maybe I'm just to tall. But overall I would definitely recommend anyone that is traveling to Florence to consider this hote

The 5 of us stayed for 4 nights and the experience was superb. We love the rooms...the size was good and the decor simple and clean. There s also a small balcony in our units. The staff at the reception were efficient and courteous. Location was excellent as it s only 5 mins away from Firenze SMN train station. There are many restaurants along the street and there s a huge food market and leather market nearby. Exploring Florence from the hotel is relatively easy. Would definitely stay there again if we return to Florence.

We stayed in executive suite. The suite is very beautiful! We enjoyed our stay in Residenza Castiglioni. It’s our first visit In Florence and were so glad we picked this B&B and stayed in one of their beautiful suite. Perfect location. Walking distance to train station and to everywhere. In the centre of shopping area and lots of restaurants nearby. The staff are friendly also. The room was huge and the design is absolutely beautiful. It’s clean and bright. If We will visit Florence again we will stay in the same suite in Residenza Castiglioni!!!

I just returned from spending 10 days in Florence,stayed in this wonderful little hotel in the very center of the city.You can't wish for better value for money.The hotel is small,very clean,rooms are lovely and have everything you might need,the staff is friendly and helpful,breakfast is good-complete with delicious pastries.But the best part is the location.You're 2 minutes walk from Mercato Centrale and leather goods market,10 minutes walk from Duomo and in general walking distance everywhere.There are shops on the street,where hotel is located-including small supermarkets,restaurants,laundromat and everything you might need.It was really a great stay and if I was to return to Florence,I wouldn't even look for another place to stay because Hotel City is perfect.

Our Italy trip. This hotel is the best. Bed is super comfortable, location is just next to city center only 1-2 mins. Room is very big and facility here is all you need. I love the most is bed and breakfast. Staff is also nice to. We arrived quite late at 10pm and met old man staff but he's so nice and willing to answer all question, to show us everything and also help us plan the trip for tomorrow morning. This hotel will be my choice again for my next visit in beautiful Florence. Walking from SM Train station is about 15-20 mins. There are many restaurant near by the hotel not only italian food but so many. Walking to Duomo is 3mins. You need to notice the Museum ads. Which is the way to entrance the hotel. I think Columbia hotel and Dome florence is the same chain. Small elevator and reception is in 2nd floor.

This is a lovely hotel very central within walking distance of everything you want to see. There are several restaurants in the same street but not far to walk to the center. The rooms are very small, but they provide a computer for your use and a power board. Bed was comfortable but pillows were hard, but that seems to be common in most places we have stayed. The breakfast was the best breakfast we had in the whole of Italy. The reception staff were helpful and allowed us to store our luggage when we went out for the day. Over all a comfortable stay.

The hotel was superb! It was nicely situated along the river. It was about a 20 minute walk to the ponte vecchio but it was such a lovely walk and there were great open parks and gatherings along the way. We were actually glad that it was a little bit away from everything or we would have missed out on seeing such a lively part of the city! The hotel and its staff were incredible. They had taxis and a free shuttle service so getting in and out of the center of town was very easy, but we still preferred to walk. The outdoor and indoor pool were a welcome during our stay as we were in Florence in July so it was quite hot, but the pool offered a nice escape from the heat. There are also so many wonderful touches that the hotel adds like flavored water and biscotti and candy jars at arrival and their custom bath products were great! The hotel offers great excursions and can even arrange a cooking class within the hotel. Our room was upgraded and it was so comfortable and roomy and honestly we didn't want to leave! The bartender Andreas was so kind and we looked forward to having our afternoon or evening nightcap with him upon our return to the hotel. I can't recommend this hotel enough. I will absolutely be back and there's nowhere else I would want to stay in Florence. The hotel has everything you could hope for and more!

While still a part of the historical center of Florence, I find that this place is in the periphery of the city center where tourists tend to flock. Nonetheless, anyone with a good pair of legs will find this hotel to be located within a reasonable distance. It is in the same block as the Church of Santa Croce but it is a big block. I walk slow to appreciate the place more. So this is a good 10 minute walk from the church to the hotel. This place is predominantly white. And it was very interesting that the white interiors gave a vision of more space of what it could have been had the walls been painted differently. I thought that the interior design was very refreshing given that this was once noble home of a Florentine family. By and large, the staff I met were very capable. Very helpful. With very good education, work experience and reasonable knowledge of good places to see in this magnificent city. Most come from different parts of Italy and are quite interesting to chat with about this city and the history of the country, at large. They also attract a very good set of clients. A more sophisticated lot. And generally, in their late 30s to early 50s. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were excellent. The Aircon worked good in my room and so did the other features of the room like the 32" flat screen TV, etc. Cons : - the pillows were too flat and seemed overused for me. - the bathroom shower does not have a full enclosure hence water splattered when I showered. - there was not enough space to put my toiletries. A couple of shelves would have been useful.

Built during the Renaissance period the building and its rooms are old, but so is Florence. This hotel is in a perfect location with just short walk to sightseeing locations, markets, shops and eateries. Staff here are the best we have ever encountered. Very friendly and willing to help. Be warned there is no lift but they have a porter who will carry bags. This hotel has a wine cellar that was built in 1400’s and yes they will open a bottle.

We stayed here for 4 nights initially in the 3rd week of Aug 2016 and we loved the hotel and its feel, so much that we came back for an over nighter the following week. It is walking distance from the train station (pro tip: the underground tunnel from Firenze SMN exits directly in front of the hotel, so no need to drag luggage on the side walk). Rooms are well appointed, if a little dark because of all the wood and have full facilities like a mini-bar, closet space, luggage area, etc. and are spacious. Toilets are good sized as well. The breakfast area has a great view of the duomo and an average spread, enough to get you by. The stand out for us was the excellent customer service we got (and we were very demanding!), the concierge desk is fantastic (Particularly Linda & Leonardo at the front desk), they were able to help us get a suit altered, a tux rented, an emergency mani-ped organised and "insider" preferred customer service at all the places we were referred to (at reasonable rates). It is located centrally and is an easy 10-20 min walk to most places you would hit up in Florence (under 10 min walk to Duomo, Uffizi, Galleria Academe, and several noted piazzas). Already came back ! definitely recommend.

Hotel is right in the middle of town. No need for taxi. Rooms were clean and spacious. The staff was great! We didn't get our luggage for 3 days and the staff brought us all the essentials we would need until our luggage arrived. They even called the airlines for us. The spa is great! My husband and I had hot stone massages. Well worth the price, which was very reasonable. Breakfast was very good. If ever we are back in Florence, I will book at the Continentale.

The location was centrally located in Florence to give you easy access to all the plazas, museums, and monuments your heart desires to see on your trip, and the staff was sublime! Assisted us in printing flight itineraries we needed as we continued the rest of our trip around Europe, and gave great recommendations on where to eat, what to see, etc. Would book again, and highly recommend to others!

I was in Florence for one night at the end of a trip to Italy, and I knew I wanted to see the Duomo and The David. This location was perfect. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room was so clean and roomy, and I loved the smell of the shower gel. I needed to leave early in the morning so they arranged a cab for me, and made sure I was all settled up on the bill the night before. There is also a great vintage shop just down the street. Overall I would recommend - especially if you just want a roomy place to stay within great walking distance to many of the sites. It is a bit more residential feeling, though, and doesn’t really feel like a hotel. I am giving it 5 stars based on what it is - more of an apartment than a hotel.
