I traveled to Myanmar with my family. We stayed in Yangon for 2 nights, flew out to Bagan, then came back to spend one more night in Yangon. Both times we stayed in Yangon, we stayed at Esperado Lake View Hotel. The hotel is nicely located, easily accessible to taxis where for about $2 you can get to downtown. The rooms were very nice - newly renovated with modern and comfortable facilities. The bathrooms were huge, and the beds and linens were new. The rooms are definitely worth more than we paid. The staff were probably the best thing about the hotel. They were very friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond whatever we asked. We plan to visit Yangon again, and whenever we do, we will be sure to stay in Esperado Lake Hotel.

This was the first hotel we stayed in during our trip to Myanmar and it was wonderful! It is a new hotel, very modern, with clean spacious rooms, a fantastic exercise room, and a huge pool and bar. From our room, we could see the Schwedagon pagoda and skyline of Yangon. Breakfasts were delicious with a large selection of various foods, both Asian and Western. The staff went out of their way to allow us early check-in and then provided good advice for sightseeing and local drivers. After hearing some warnings about hotels in Myanmar, this was a pleasant surprise and the start of a wonderful visit to Myanmar. The location is close to many sights and the value for the price is excellent.

Excellent stay. For some reason they gave me two beds instead of one and were not able to move me, but the room was spacious even with two beds. There were not tour groups at the hotel during my stay as with many hotels in Myanmar that are quite inconvenient for individual travelers. I believe this hotel is a bit out of the budget for those types of tours which is a refreshing break. There were a couple corporate events occurring for the meeting rooms and the breakfast service suffered (long lines for egg station, difficult to obtain table side service for refills on coffee or clearing of plates etc) but that was a minor hiccup in an overall great stay. Some pool lounge seats lacked cushions which was odd. The on-site spa was not very good in terms of service. The woman who handled phone calls was abrupt and not polite. Not rude, but just unpolished in her manners and tone (e.g. 1pm appointment? You come now. Come now! ~Click. Dial tone~ Okay..., I guess I'll go over to the spa now). It could be cultural but I've had the same treatment from Chinese immigrants in the States and it's still a bit rude for guests used to a little more refinement. Like many people of Myanmar, my masseuse was also a bit pushy asking for money which was in contrast to the Concierge and Reception staff who were very polite and discreet. One member from Concierge even refused a tip simply saying he was happy to be of service which was a welcome change for Myanmar. This is a full service hotel that took pains to ensure the safety of their guests given the recent bombings (Oct 2013) and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel.

Sedona Yangon is home away home. I can vouch that no other hotel in Myanmar can beat the superb Hospitality of Sedona. The staff is so cordial & warmth that they will think of solutions for you at a personal level. i have never experienced a NO during my last 11 years of continuous stay in Sedona. GM Mr Mok is personally involved in taking care of individual customers so as to make their stay comfortable & respond back ASAP on any of the issues. Ms Yadnar is a of great help anytime during your stay. i stayed in almost all the key hotels of Myanmar but SEDONA stands apart Hope to get the same service in times to come

After staying in 3 different hotels in Myanmar, we'd have to say Ta Win Garden Hotel in Yangon was far the best experience we had. The rooms were huge and the showers had good water pressure and hot enough during winter months when we were there. There was hardly any noise in the night and we had a very good night sleep. The breakfast selection was huge and very impressive. We'd definitely stay here again!

We stayed here for two nights after the long flights from the UK as it was close to the airport (10/15 mins) and we just needed somewhere to recharge our batteries before touring Myanmar. The hotel is a stunning new building (opened Sept last year) offering a true 5* experience set alongside the lake with glorious views towards Yangon. It has everything you’d wish from a luxury hotel and everything is brand new - with the rooms still sparkling new, giving the feeling as if they’ve not been used before! Superb staff, a wonderful swimming pool, great food - just could not be better. The executive floor offering well worth it - the free food on offer simple scrumptious and plentiful. Highly recommended hotel just outside Yangon.

The Rose Garden Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to several sights, such as the Shwedagon Pagoda, the Kandawgyi Lake, the main railway station and downtown Yangon. My room was nicely aquatinted featuring traditional Burmese culture and styles and it had all amenities one could expect from a five star hotel. I particularly liked the small bouquet of fresh flowers. Another thing I like is the emphasis on environmental matters like shampoo or body lotion in elegant dispensers or city maps on recycled paper. Myanmar needs much more of that! It was nice to have a balcony, though the mosquitos that appear in the darkness can be annoying. The public areas of the hotel were also great so that I always enjoyed walking in and through the main hall. There is also a very nice scent in the public areas. WiFi is free and has always worked well. There is also a pool, but I didn’t use it. The staff was always friendly, polite, professional and helpful. They are all doing a great job. Joining the breakfast buffet is a good decision given the wide choice of warm and cold food as well as freshly prepared egg dishes and noodles. When coming back to Yangon, this hotel would surely be my first choice and I can only recommend it to other travellers.

This was my 7th visit to Myanmar, but my first stay at this hotel. It is a 5 star hotel on the edge of the CBD (it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the CBD). The hotel is of high standard: great breakfast, a nice swimming pool, a lady playing classical Burmese harp in the lobby every second evening, a good room. Like many Myanmar hotels, a bit over-priced for the standard of facilities and services compared to other SE Asian countries.

We stayed at 3 different hotels during our 4-day trip in Myanmar. Hotel G is very well designed and nice to stay at. The only frustration is we think the hospitality is not up to standard. Check-in was pleasant and welcoming and that's pretty much it. We booked a room for three, and only two sets of amenities were provided. Breakfast selection was poor and the service was relatively ignorant. We felt we had to try to get the staff's attention and food over the counter was never filled and we had to ask a couple of times. We did not feel welcome walking back into the hotel, and walking past the reception made us feel like strangers. It's just a relatively 'uncomfortable' stay in terms of hospitality. The other two hotels we stayed at were 1. Best Western Green Hill and 2. The Mountain Top (Kyaiktiyo) and they are significantly different (better) in making us feel welcome and comfortable. For the price we paid (around 150 USD a night), we would have chosen to stay somewhere else.

This is my first time in Myanmar and my very first hotel stay in Bagan. I must say I’m very delighted and satisfied with the top notch service and best experience I had here at Ananda Bagan Hotel. Upon completion of booking with Agoda, they provide confirmation of booking promptly in less than 20 mins. Not only that, they also response in reasonable time on my following request including pick up service from the bus station. Lucky to say they got me a very good driver which I then hire to be my private driver in Bagan for one day (Toyota Premio car plate number CC-2211, I couldn’t recall the driver name). One of the reasons to ask for pick up service is to avoid having to negotiate cutthroat prices with taxi driver that will come to you the moment you got off the bus. As I went to Bagan from Yangon by bus, I arrive in the morning around 5:40am. My driver picked me up and I arrived at the hotel just after 6am, without I asking, they proceed to let me check in to my room with no extra charges. Ananda Bagan Hotel deserve a BIG THUMB UP 👍🏻 for this. Next up, the room is really spacious and clean! I’m not sure how long Ananda Bagan Hotel has been around, but everything in the room looks pretty new to me. Unlike usual practice where only drinking waters are on the house, Ananda Bagan Hotel provides two bottles of drinking water (1 liters each), two cans of coke and two cans of Myanmar beer, all on the house. Moments after settling myself in the room, apart from the usual welcome drink and wet towel which I received at the reception lobby, they send to my room a complimentary fruits (papaya, watermelon and honeydew), another shown of warm gesture by Ananda Bagan Hotel that catches my heart. On the breakfast included with my stay, they provide a decent mixed on their buffet lines and a numbers of local and western choices on the a-la-carte menu. Staff at front desk (Myint myint mo,Er.ic,David)helpful, bell boys Sithu, Nyein Chan, Jack lin thet maung,William) have been marvellous. Thanks also to domestic staff who. responds to our needs promptly. The room that was initialy given face constrution site but was compensated by higher floor on our initial stay. Hotel offered us shwedagon pagoda view when retuirned from our trip to Ngapali. We are happy to return in future if Melia maintain1hese excellent standards. The only grumble is Hotel has deducted 50 dollars automatically for mini bar from our credit card. This will return to us in 3 weeks if we did not use the contents from minibar,which we did not. We have stayed at another 5 star hotel in Myanmar before and they only took the credit card details without charging upfront. We now have to lookout for the return in our credit card statement which we find extra work.

The rooms were nice and clean. The staff were super helpful. The air conditioner and fridge were the best in our Myanmar trip. The staff had already turned it on to welcome us when we entered the room. It was very nice coming back to the room after a trip in Yangon. Location was great to go anywhere such as the pagoda and China town. It was a good walk. Breakfast was mediocre but same as any other hotels we've been to in Myanmar. I would stay here again!

excellent, could not have been better. After two weeks in Laos and Myanmar it was a great treat on my last night. I had booked into the Clover City Center Plus Hotel where I unfortunately stayed on my first night in Myanmar but cancelled that and upgraded to the The Governors Residence Hotel. I contacted Agoda when I made the GRH booking to cancel my booking at the CCCP Hotel but did not hear back after contacting them 4 times on the issue. I even sent the hotel a note to cancel and heard nothing from them. I'm waiting to see if I am charged for this cancelled booking. Agoda is very quick to take a booking but totally opposite when cancelling and they make it impossible to speak to anyone about any problem.

Clover City Center Plus was one of the best hotels I've stayed at in Myanmar. It's not much to look at from the outside, but the interior of the hotel is designed well and the rooms are comfortable and spacious. Wi-fi nternet also works quite well, which is definitely a bonus in Myanmar, and breakfast was definitely above average compared to comparably priced hotels in the city (although you should go early if you can to make sure it's still warm!). Overall, I think the Clover City Center Plus is the best value for what you can get at this level in Yangon. There aren't many amenities (no gym or pool, for example), but if you're just in town for business and just need a comfortable space to work and sleep, it's a great option.

We personally love to stay at Pullman Centrepoint during our stay in Yangon. All the staffs were very friendly, professional as well as helpful. The most amazing part was that the hotel staff has contacted us for our arrival details one day after we booked the hotel via agoda as we mentioned about early check in. As such, our room was ready by the time we checked in. This is their fantastic service beyond our expectation. Kudos to Pullman staffs. Hotel facility is very good. The Housekeeping Aunty was very friendly. Overall, thumbs up to Pullman, we didn’t see any cons during our stay there. Of course, we will definitely come back to Pullman for our next trip to Yangon.

This is one of the better hotel in Myanmar (in my opinion). Facility wise it offers a business center, breakfast, in house restaurant in case you don't care to leave the hotel. The highlight for me personally....was the Gym facility!! Love that they have an actual "GYM" not some make shift outdated stuff. As a professional in the fitness industry...this definitely made my stay a pleasant one. Breakfast .....buffet style is a definite plus!! And the staff are very professional and helpful!! I would give these guys an A++

The best hotel during our three weeks in Myanmar. Our room was very spacious and had a large balcony. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well, listening to the waves. The beach was so empty (and clean), it felt like our private beach and there was no shortage of sunbeds. The breakfast was amazing and the best we've had. There was everything you could ask for and the quality was great. They also brought us snacks to the room every night, another lovely touch. However, the best part is the staff. Everyone is extremely well trained, speaks fantastic English and is super attentive. We'd like to say especially huge thanks to Chomee, who looked after us a lot and even taught me how to make a delicious tea they were serving. The resort is superb on all accounts, but most of all the staff. And the prices were really reasonable for a resort of this level.

My stay was five days and I have no complaints with the best western. I had a basic double room which was to be honest just a little small with only enough room to walk round the bed. If you are using this as a base then no worries but if you spend much time in the room, perhaps in the evenings then expect a little cabin fever. The staff here are great and helped me in every way I needed. I stayed in bigger more plush hotels in Myanmar during my travels there but this hotel had the best breakfast.

We booked TBR for 4 nights of beach time at the end of our Myanmar trip. What a fantastic place to relax! The resort occupies a central location on a stretch of beautiful beach, with many restaurants a few minutes stroll away. We booked the cheapest rooms, which are at the back near the road. You can hear the traffic but we didn't find it bothersome. The rooms are spacious with a balcony which is great for hanging out clothes to dry or just relaxing with a book. Although the resort was almost full when we were there it never felt busy or noisy. No problems getting sunloungers! It was nice to have the option of the sea or the pool and you could easily switch between them, with lots of outdoor showers to remove excess sand! What really stood out was the level of service, especially the F&B and housekeeping / ground staff. Staff were very friendly and attentive without being overbearing, their level of service and professionalism was equal to that of a 5* hotel. Nice touches like a "fold down" service and staff pulling out chairs for you to sit down etc, as well as being greeted by a big smile and "minglabar!" everywhere we went made us feel very looked after. I really enjoyed the breakfast and thought there was great choice, again with excellent service. You will see "swankier" resorts along the beach but if you want great value for money in the care of wonderful staff I'd recommend Thande Beach Resort unreservedly!

Shangri-la is my favorite chain, so visiting Yangon I decided to stay here. Location is nice - can walk to Sula pagoda, gems market. Shwedagon is in 5-10 min driving (depends on traffic). Entering in the hotel lobby you like teleport to other city, country, universe .... Far from noisy, crowded and vibrant Myanmar capital ))) Modern hotel with colonial style interiors with some local Myanmar details (wood sculptures, pictures...), fantastic friendly and prevent service! Room is not big (no balcony), but has everything ! One of the best bedding sheets and bathrobes and towels for whole my travel experience ! Very quiet corridors (special system of noise isolation and doors closing) prove best conditions for sleeping and relaxation !!!! Breakfasts are perfect, all food is selected... Buffet has Indian, Myanmar, Chinese and international food stations (there are only 4 kinds of sausages there !!!) and fresh juices! We tried dinner in Chinese restaurant (2 floor). Was nice also! Nice quality and reasonable prices ! But better to book a table ! Unfortunately I had no time to use swimming pool, health center and gym in the hotel. Think they are also perfect and I will use them during my next travel in Myanmar capital !!!

I have only positive thoughts on Holly hotel. Arrived here late at night after 3 long haul flights, staff were very welcoming and helpful....rushing out to get my bags and a cool welcome drink was just what I needed. My room was very modern and very clean with all relevant amenities. Wifi worked well in reception and my room. I cannot comment on breakfast as I left at 6am again the next morning so not in time for breakfast, the hotel also swiftly arranged a taxi to the airport for me. I found other hotels in Myanmar to not reply to any emails I had sent to them asking basic questions such as the best way to get from airport to hotel etc...Holly hotel was the only one to reply to me and they also emailed a short time before arrival to ask if I needed any assistance. About a 10 minute drive from the airport so I would definitely recommend you stay here.

New boutique hotel and the whole room is in white. Clean, decent with a very convenient location. Staffs are very nice. The first hotel in Myanmar that provides free coffee mix and with a boiling pot. Opposite is the Aung San market. Super One supermarket is just round the corner. Many kiosks selling all kinds of cheap and local food are next to the hotel and a lot of local shops selling books, accessories which you can spend time on. They are not closed till 8-9pm which is comparatively late in Mayanmar.

We stayed at Hotel Accord for our last two nights in Yangon. The beds were super comfy, the staff very helpful and rooms very quiet at night despite being in the heart of a busy area. The location is great near Dagon Center 1&2 with a lot of street life and several restaurants right outside the front door. The Owner was often in the lobby helping guests and was very friendly and open to suggestions. The staff were all very helpful and spoke remarkably better English than at most other hotels. Overall the hotel was clean. Bathrooms are small and set up like most in Myanmar with the shower fitting out in the open instead of in an enclosure, but had a rain head and good water pressure. TV had English and other languages avaliable and the internet was good, with the fastest upload rate we tested in Myanmar and a very solid download rate. This hotel is much better than many in Yangon, even than some significantly more expensive properties. Breakfast was good and ample, however the problem common to Myanmar of keeping hot food hot was apparent here too. The staff did, however, constantly refill seving trays in the buffet which made it better. Our plans for a taxi to the airport fell through at the last minute, but the hotel owner quickly helped and arranged a faiy reasonably priced one. We will come back to this hotel.

Again great staff in a hotel in Myanmar. We arrived late on a Sat night and didn't have hardly any local currency and the manager let us personally some money. I have stayed in hotels all around Myanmar having lived and worked in the country for 4 years. The Link 78 in Mandalay is by far the best all round hotel I have stayed in. This is intriguing because it's far from the most expensive. It's what you would say is 'mid-range' in terms of price. However the quality of the rooms, the service, and especially the food, is simply the best in Myanmar I have experienced. It's worth visiting the restaurant on the top floor even if you are not staying int he hotel, the food is truly first class and not at all expensive. In the past 4 years I have stayed in about 15 different hotels in Mandalay. Over the past 6 months it has been the same hotel each time and I cannot see myself staying anywhere else. Well done to the Link 78 Mandalay - as a business traveller, you are the first hotel in Myanmar that has truly satisfied me and achieved international standards.

This was the most expensive hotel we stayed in during our Myanmar travel about, in late November, early December, but it was worth it to us. We chose the most expensive rooms as well, with a river view, facing spectacular sunsets. Staff were very friendly and even if their English was hesitant, they tried their best to look after guests. Could not ask for better service. The hotel is located in the Old Bagan pagoda park, next to the museum. Food service, particularly buffet breakfast, were very welcome after our more adventurous tastings around Myanmar at Inle/Inlay, Mandalay and Yangon. Compared to other SE Asian countries (esp Thailand and Vietnam), Myanmar is not a foodie place. There are regional specialities such as the ferocious Rakhine dishes and the flavoursome Shan noodles. Order "medium" heat for safety, but also the oil based chili and garlic side sauce to pump up the spice of required. River prawns and fish seem to be overcooked wherever we found them. As the guidebooks say, the Bagan Thande is for the splurge.

People say that here are not many great hotels in Myanmar, but what I experienced in Zfreeti was quite different. staff were so nice and kind and they offered breakfast even though we didn't pay for it! (I think it was because we booked the room very early so there was a deal without breakfast but now they serve breakfast for every guest) Swimming pool was the heaven after spending grueling hours in the heat. Especially for room service menu, I wanna recommend to anyone who wants good food with reasonable price. We found that restaurants nearby were more expensive. Plus, I really want to recommend you to rent a e-bike from the hotel. It is cheaper and safer. We rented more expensive and heavier ones from retal place and it was horrible. . because the other one has smaller wheels so it was easily lose the control on the sand.I fell down 3times with the bike, so I rented the hotel bike and it was 10times better. Thanks for giving me the greatest memories in Bagan. But there are some minor inconveniences that the hotel can improve easily. 1. need a cabinet or a drawer that I can put my clothes 2. bathroom door didnt close easily 3. The power went off very often at night but I think power shortage is not the hotel's problem Thanks Zfreeti I would definitely stay there again when I visit Bagan.
