“Affordable and conveniently located hotel.”
A 2-night schedule that requires bringing my daughter and son. There were many other hotels, but I chose this one because of its location. The location is really good. The hygiene level feels like 3.5/5, but there are no specific issues. There is only body cleanser and shampoo, but the hot water pressure is good. It doesn't have the comfort of an expensive hotel, but it is quiet, and the room I stayed in had a road view with good light and decent air conditioning. However, if my wife had come along, she might have been a bit disappointed. The subway is also close, and within walking distance are beef noodles, tripe noodles, mango shaved ice, hot pot, Don Quijote, and Carrefour (15 minutes away), and breakfast is easy to take out and enjoy at the hotel. The regular bus stop to Jiufen and a convenience store are just across the street. I mistakenly booked a hotel in Kaohsiung and waited for a cancellation, so I ended up booking last minute the day before, which was somewhat expensive, but it seems that if I had planned a week in advance, it could have been cheaper. I only checked, but the late check-out fee (300 TWD/hour) is high. There seemed to be coffee and cookies (?) next to the front desk, but I couldn't use them. The staff spoke English well and were friendly.
