Beware of overcharging by the hotel!”
I chose to stay in Duyen Hai Hotel as it was very close to the Convention Centre. The hotel room was not very clean as the bedsheet had some stains but was not changed daily. Since the hotel room rate is not very high, I booked and paid for a suite and breakfast for two persons. However, seeing that I was alone, I was given a superior/deluxe room which was a cheaper room. I accepted that since I was alone anyway. For breakfast, I was told that each person could order up to VND30,000 which was limited to 4 or 5 different noodle soups only and I stayed in the hotel for 4 nights. However, since I booked breakfast for 2 persons, logically, I should be able to order up to VND60,000 but I was told that I could not do that. To add salt to the wound, when I checked out, i was told that I have to pay another VND60,000 for 2 bottles of mineral water in the fridge which I thought was normally given free by the hotel. I did not mind paying but I was charged VND30,000 per bottle. Even 3 or 4 star hotels charged only VND10,000 per bottle of mineral water so why should this 2 star hotel charged 3 times more! This annoyed me as I felt being reaped off.

Near the Hydrofoil in Haiphong”
We arrived late at night from Hanoi to find no reception staff on site. Fortunately the night staff contacted the receptionist who came promptly. The room was large with beds of two different comfort levels - hard and soft. Airconditioning worked. Shower was hot but no shower curtain meaning the bathroom became quite wet. Breakfast was not included but good.

Dirty bathroom, old. Good internet connection. Hotel staff are unfriendly and unslill... no elevator. Many rooms in there. You can walk to dock for Cat Ba island (5minutes). And also close to downtown, cofee shop and street food close to here. No restaurant inside the hotel. Worth the price.

Cheap hotel but rough around the edges. ”
We chose this hotel because it was cheap and close to the hydrofoil terminal to Cat Ba Island. The hotel reception staff were ok but the room was ver dissapointing. The room smelt very damp and we could smell the damp on our clothes after we had left. The walls were stained and dirty and the door didnt close properly. It wasn't a very nice experience and for a few pounds more we would have been more comfortable.

Basic Hotel”
The staff was unhelpful and rude. I arrived by taxi in pouring rain. Nobody helped me with my bags or even an umbrella. The first words of the reception were: " We full!" Not even a hallo or welcome. I explained that I had an Agoda reservation and while they were searching for it, I had to wait there all the time shivering and wet. They gave me the key and when I asked where my room is, they ignored me as they were talking amongst themselves. Eventually I got quite upset as I just wanted to get to my room, get out of my wet clothes and have hot bath. When I got to my room, the toilet paper and towel were wet and there was no hot water. I phoned reception and the housekeeper came and told me I just have to wait for five minutes for hot water. I waited for almost an hour, but no hot water. Later the evening I tried again, but the water was running hot for about a minute and then cold again. The furniture in the room was old and not in a good condition with the varnished chipped. My room was on the second floor directly above the kitchen and next to the stairway. It was extremely noisy with the noises of the kitchen and people comong and going until late at night. I choose this hotel above others because it had a restaurant and I knew I was going to check in late and did not want to walk around looking for a place to eat. I am a vegetarian but they did not have any vegetarian food on the menu. I ordered a baguette with tomato and cucumber. While I was waiting for my order, some of the staff were sitting in the lobby. talking and making a lot of noise. After waiting for half an hour I enquired from reception to when I can expect the food. The guy was surprised and asked did I want it NOW? I decide to rather go to the tourist office to enquire where I can eat. They were very helpful and even accompanied me to a restaurant. They said that any restaurant can make vegetarian food, as there are may Buddhists in Vietnam, but at this hotel they did not even offer.

It was okay... it was close to the conference I was attending down the street at the government buildings. If you're going for the same reason and are on a budget, then it should work for you too.

We stayed only 1 night, it was enough : the room was cold and unclean, very very noisy, not because of the street, because of the people! The staff was not friendly. Will never come.

rapide, bref et hotel sans interet pas tres cher . on peut trouver nettement mieux au Vietnam surtout sans le petit dej!!! correct mais vraiment sans plus. interessant si bateua le matin pour Cat Ba.

C'est un hôtel dans le style marbre grandiose. Assez vétuste: pas d'ascenseur, portes et fenêtres ne ferment pas (courants d'air). Seul point positif: la proximité de l'embarcadère du bateau rapide pour Cat Ba.

hotel propre et bien situé”
connexion wifi, hotel d'un bon rapport qualité prix et l'emplacement central est parfait pour aller au restaurant et visiter le centre ville. En arrivant de la baie d'along, le bus nous a déposé juste à côte de l'hotel, donc c'est plutot très pratique. Ce n'est pas le grand luxe, mais les draps sont propres et ils fournissent une serviette de toilette, le shampooing et le savon. Je recommande !

das hotel wurde aufgrund der direkten nähe zum ben binh harbour ausgewählt und diente als übernachtung zur weiterfahrt nach cat ba island. es ist zwar sehr günstig aber kann trotzdem mit keinem anderen low budget hotel verglichen werden. die zimmer waren dreckig, kakalaken rannten über den flur, sehr unfreundliches personal, schwierige kommunikation da kein englisch, die betten sind eine katastrophe, die türen waren so dünn und kaputt, dass wir sorge um unser gepäck und unsere sicherheit hatten. das frühstück haben wir aufgrund des ekelfaktors gar nicht erst getestet. länger als eine nacht auf keinen fall zu empfehlen und nur bei niedrigsten ansprüchen.

Das Hotel ist fuer den Preis ueberwiegend o.k. Allerdings wird es morgens schon ab 6 Uhr sehr laut im Hotel. Die Mitarbeiter haben sehr laute Musik oder Fernseher sehr laut eingeschaltet. Ausserdem hapert es im Hotel an vielen Stellen mit der Instandhaltung. Viele Steckdosen gehen z.B. Nicht. Das Personal ist allerdings freundlich und zuvorkommend.

カットバ島への船乗り場のすぐ近くです。部屋はデラックスルームだったので、広くて快適でした。お風呂にはバスタブもありました。スタッフの対応はイマイチかな。この値段なら、簡単な朝食はつけてほしかったです。あと、マッサージ店が併設されてますが、エロ系なのでご注意を。

中心部にかかわらず安い”
中心部にあるにも関わらずこの価格は安い。 何度も泊まっているが、同じ価格でも部屋によって広さや設備が全く違う。 びっくりするほど広い部屋のことも、狭い部屋のことも。 最低価格帯なのにバスタブがついてる部屋さえあった。 設備は古く、ベッドも固い。テレビのチャンネル数も少ない。 そういう意味ではいいところはあまりないが、この立地で掃除も行き届いており、官庁街にも近い。 この価格だったら文句はない。
