The hotel has lots of staff always willing to help! The exterior is of a high standard, clean & contemporary, the rooms were clean however the upkeep like bubbling walls & dirty cushions on the balcony did let it down slightly. Shuttle to the medina daily every hour is helpful, small area to purchase memorabilia & a few homely restaurants. Tax charges at the end of the holiday changed the mood as we were not informed of this via Agoda so be aware that if you spend during your stay i.e. Charge anything to the room, you'll be changed an additional £7 per time!

Worth every cent! The hotel is perfected located: opposite the beach, at an entrance to the old medina and close to the main square filled with many food options. Every room is unique but offering the same level of comfort. The terrace is serene - for breakfast or sunset and a drink. By the way, best breakfasts we had in Morroco! Every staff member is kind, friendly and always willing to help. Attention to every need of the guest was great: your welcome included a snack and tea, reading material on what to do, where to eat and the history of Essaouira as well as a cellphone for your local use or any urgent need to contact the hotel. Loved it so much, we extended our stay and definitely will be back!

We liked the place although it’s off a square so taxi drops us 300 metres away Then to locate the office for keys across square Then a walk 300m walk in a alleyway to flight of stairs no lifts here a disabled person will find it extremely difficult to 2nd floor quaint rooms of character Delightful little place The rooftops has excellent clear views of ocean n beach Nice side kitchen well equipped where we made our own breakfast Not many guests just us

Very nice riad and easy to find/walk from Supratours bus terminal. Booked a suite, which are ocean facing, including breakfast served on upper observation level with great views. Great staff all around! In high tide the ocean reaches directly below rooms. As rooms have no heating or airconditioning one must keep window open for ventilation so if constant ocean noise is not something you enjoy we would in that case recommend an inside room. Suite was large with great décor and flt screen TV with 2 English movie channels. In room Internet worked fine. Has mini fridge in room. Easy walking distance from markets and harbour and beach. A more relaxed and quieter atmosphere than that found in Marrakech.

We stayed one week. Great base. Staff excellent , very amenable and helpful. In medina within walking distance of all amenities. Mosque very close so we heard bilal loud and clear, but we expected and adjusted to this. Only downside was closeness to Bar Tavos which had loud music which we were surprised at it being in the old city. Music did finish at 10.45 though. Proprietor says she's in negotiation with Tavos over noise levels. Overall we had a great stay!!

This is the first hotel I stayed after arriving in Morocco, and it gave me a great first impression about this country. The owner is very friendly and helpful (also very multilingual). From pickup at bus station, tourism guidance to serving dinner, he does everything to make his guests feel like at home. The room is clean with local decorations, the food is great (the best chicken tajine and fruit salads during my stay in Morocco actually), other guests I met here are also very easy-going, will definitely recommend this lovely place to others.

rooms are small but nicely furnished and clean. the hotel is located in a nice back alley if the Medina in a 10 minute walking distance of the port. breakfast uninspiring in comparison to hotels with a similar price in Morocco. the French owner actually seems to be annoyed by her guests and only seems to be nice to fellow french people while ignoring the others. the staff has the same attitude and as a guest you sometimes feel like a burden. make sure you have ready the exact amount of your hotel bill when you pay as the staff will not have any change and the pay by card charge is rather steep. apart from these negative points it is still a nice spot in essaouira.

Nothing much bad to say about this place. The only "problem" we had, was that we were missing a shower curtain. This meant that the entire bathroom floor would get wet, and drip out into the main part of the room. An easy fix. Other than that however, we very much enjoyed our stay. The interior of the hotel is beautifully decorated in antique moroccan style, and feels spacious despite the tight location. The ceilings are high in the rooms of this 200 year old building, and the common area is a tranquil indoor courtyard with plenty of light and comfortable lounging space. The atmosphere really makes you feel like you are in a different part of the world. I would definitely come again.

The staff is awesome! Simo is the manager and is by far the greatest host we had in Morocco. He sat with us and gave us a map and explained all there is to know around the medina. We stayed for 3 days and he showed us around when needed. There is also Mouhcine who helps around and he was very helpful. He took us around the medina, cooked tajine for us and made our trip in Essaouira unforgettable. It is a great place for gathering and it really feels like home. 👌🏻 The place is a bit hard to find but here's a tip: ask around for Simo the manager of the hostel and ppl will tell you where to find it !

Dar Nafoura Mogador is very nice place to stay and relax after day in busy streets of Essauira. Accomodaition is accually riad (guesthouse) with its Morrocan atmosphere. Comparing to Morrocan hotels I visited this place is much cleaner and staff is very nice and helpfull. You are always welcome back as a person who lives there not as a number who pays for a room. Rooms are decorated with style. Rooms facing to the street however may be a bit noisy. Highly recomended and worth of price.

Pros- Good location in the medina (near everything, yet off the main thoroughfares for less noise), comfortable upper deck with ocean view CONS - Owner sits at the front door chain-smoking (which wafts up through the riad like a wind tunnel) and talking loudly into the wee hours of the morning (then argued with other guests that asked him to keep it down) - After that lovely night's rest, I was hounded at breakfast an hour before checkout that I needed to 'pay now and get my bag out of my room'

My husband and I spent 2 nights at this Riad. The staff, Hasna was friendly and helpful. She took us to a nearby restaurant which served delicious Moroccan food. Also she made sure our own computers worked at the lobby as there was no connection inside the room. Room was clean, but the bathroom light was dim. Unfortunately our room faced the roof terrace whereby 2 large dogs barked for an hour or so the 2 nights we were there, but that only lasted until midnight.So we did get enough sleep. The proprietor and staff served delicious freshly squeezed in season clementine juices for breakfast every morning. The location of the Riad was inside the medina and we arrived at night, so we paid someone at the parking lot to transfer our luggage as well as show us where the Riad was. All in all, we have no complaint to stay at this budget riad.

This was the most expensive hotel of my holiday and the only one that had no wifi in the room. It is indeed a luxury hotel with great beds, good shower and tastefully decorated room. I found the reception desk to be brusque and in some ways unhelpful. She was going to charge me for the room but I had already paid through Agoda. There is a huge outdoor pool but with the temperature and constant wind I wondered how comfortable it would be to swim or sun. I decided that I could not eat enough food to justify spending 180 MAD for breakfast. I went into the Medina, 5 minute walk, and ate at a sidewalk cafe for 35 MAD as I people watched. However I had room service dinner, a penne with garlic and basil, that was amazing and not expensive. I only booked because there was a good price on Agoda but I am glad I stayed.
