GREAT HOTEL!”

I stayed in Essence Hotel for 3 nights during my trip in Phnom Penh. The location is good, on Monivong Boulevard. You can visit the most majority of famous site of Phnom Penh by feet if you like walk. Rooms are cleans and spacious. Food and breakfast is good too. Hotel is calm and you can relax easiler after a day trip in Phnom Penh. And to finish the review, the most important positive point on this hotel is the staff. They are amazing: very nice, kind and always ready to help you. It was a pleasure to stay on this hotel.

I live in a guest house in Phnom Penh and took a "daycation" at the Essence because of their beautiful pool, sky bar/pizza cafe, and ample free breakfast. The great deal on pagoda made 1 day very affordable. I loved the room, the sky bar, the staff in the sky bar, and above all the pool. I did not love the person who checked me in. Made me feel like I was coming to commut a crime. Definitely not a way to greet a tired customer. Never got a welcome drink even though I asked. Honestly, everyone other staff member treated me like a queen and were delighted that I could speak Khmer . One suggestiin. Please have a No smoking section in the sky bar or ban all smoking. I get sick at the smell and had to eat my meal in my room instead of the nice view I was enjoying. That is not good.

What's not right, is getting fixed fast.”

First, the location is very good... some hotels have a better location in Phnom Penh, but few rival this hotel in most other areas. It is a beautiful property and the rooftop pool is fantastic. The sun chairs are comfortable and the setting beautiful. There is a brick oven pizza bar rooftop as well. One could stay there all day and night and be extremely happy. The rooms are top notch for the money, the beds comfortable and the staff, all but one, are happy and eager to please. I had some trouble getting my room cleaned by one disgruntled employee, however, I spoke with the very professional manager who soothed my ruffled feathers and put everything right. He was very impressive and the company is fortunate to have him. The lobby staff are very eager to please, however, are not always certain as to how. I'm sure the place is improving daily under the manager's efforts. DRC

Loved my stay at this hotel”

Loved the breakfast buffet, although a bit more variety every day would be good. Looks like there was a full restaurant menu at lunchtime when no one was around, and a pizza and snack menu at night time when it was busy. Safe, very comfortable, love love love the staff (most speak very good English), great air conditioning, car & motorbike parking (staff organised motorbike rental), lovely pool (although it feels a bit strange swimming when everyone else is having dinner, I did it nonetheless). Will gladly stay there again as long as I get the same Agoda rate. I think their standard room rate is too high for Phnom Penh.

Great place, great staff”

I stayed here in September in my first ever travel to Phnom Penh. The staff were super helpful and helped in every way they could. Special shout-out to the front desk, you guys were so kind and made our check-in and check-out process smooth. We wanted to get pizza delivered but couldn't dial the shop through our phones. The front desk staff were kind enough to help me call them and give them the address. Tuk tuks are right outside the hotel, so transportation is no problem at all. I loved my stay here. I definitely recommend the hotel to future budget travelers. Also great view from the top floor.

Nice Rooftop Bar”

With breakfast come in compliment, they served pretty good breakfast buffet considering their pricing. Rooftop bar gives a good view of Phnom Penh City, with a swimming pool and gym. Location is wise when major attractions can be accessed by Grab, Grab Tuk Tuk and their local PassApp. Do note that local Tuk Tuk that not yet joined ride hailing programs are quite against the Grab and PassApp. So, stay low when picking up Grab.

Comfortable and value for money”

It is not easy to find a reasonable price for a hotel that have a room with triple bed and here we have it in Essence Hotel. Our room is a corner room (nice view and bright) and can easily asses of sunlight especially afternoon that will heating up the room. Air-conditioner have to take longer time to make the room cooler. The bath room have a window / a wall of glass that make the sunlight happily shining in through even they have blind to block it, the floor is warm too. If they can tinted all the glasses / window i believe it will help to reduce the heat. You may request a "Not" corner room if you are very particular on warm. The staffs are very helpful and their service is good. Breakfast is consider good to us. We had our dinner at MOON Pizza Bar (at Rooftop) and it's tasted good to us too. Overall, I will say that Essence Hotel is a worth to stay place.

My spot in Phnom Penh”

This is the IT space to stay in Phnom Penh if you are looking for a great location, amazing staff and beautiful rooms. The rooftop pool is one of the best in Phnom Penha s well, they serve FAB pizza's too have a skybar gym which is amazing and the rooms are comfortable, ridiculously clean and the staff always have a smile on your face. Will continue to come back when I visit the city.

Excellent Stay”

This is my third time visiting Phnom Penh, I'm just amazed at the facilities and the room here ! The breakfast buffet looks simple and clean but it carries the taste of local cooking. The staff is extremely friendly and one even greeted me in Mandarin ! I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.

3D2N Stay”

I booked a 2-bedroom apartment for a 3D2N stay. The hotel was about a 20-30 minutes drive from the airport, depending on traffic conditions. It is situated in a very convenient location, and there are tuktuks waiting outside the hotel, hence it was easy to get around. There were convenience stores, minimarts and restaurants within walking distance. We took tuktuk to places like Phnom Penh night market and AEON Mall, which took about 15 minutes. Our apartment was located on the 11th floor and as the hotel only had one lift at each opposite end, we had to wait for about 5-7 minutes every time we wanted to go up/down. The apartment was clean and spacious. However, the air-con in one of the rooms did not work. We had to call them for about 3 times, before the maintenance staff came down to fix it. It was still not very cold, but decent. Please remember to check the number of glasses in the living room/toilets and mineral water bottles in the fridge the moment you check in into the room. When we checked out, the staff told us that all 5 of the mineral water bottles in the fridge was gone, and we had to pay 5 USD, as each bottle in the fridge cost 1 USD. This was already explained to us before we checked in, hence we did not touch anything in the fridge. We also went to buy our own water at the mini marts nearby. After explaining to him that we did not drink the water in the fridge, he said that the water thing is settled. He then proceeded to say that there’s only one glass in the living room. (There’s supposed to be two) However when we checked in, there was only one glass already. After explaining another round, the staff then said “no problem”. Hence, please always always check when you check in and inform the staff!!!

Last minute booking. Double room was not available when we arrived. Hotel manager kindly upgraded us to a suite for our tow nights in Phnom Penh. Excellent and healthy breakfast and extremely nice staff. Would stay again if coming back

Good value in the location”

More of a good value option than a truly memorable stay. But bear in mind I haven’t stayed elsewhere in Phnom Penh, it is just that I found more personal / individual places in other towns. The Essence has good size rooms (apartment), reasonable pool area on the roof for a midrange city hotel and is easy to get to the main city centre places. So if this place looks like good value for when you are booking, go for it.

Excellent hotel in Phnom Penh. Very good clean room with wifi and breakfast included. Very friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic location and close to main tourist attractions. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Modern hotel, clean and centrally located”

We had a triple room. Large room with a big bathroom. Kid friendly if you have children. The roof top pool is a little piece of tranquility above the mayhem that is Phnom Penh. The buffet breakfast is adequate, unless you are a food snob. Good coffee. We would go back and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The clientel seems to be a mix of Chinese and Western. Staff are helpful and friendly.

This hotel locates in the heart of phnom penh city. Amazing views from rooftop pool and room balcony. the staff was extremely friendly, helpful, smile and warmth make the stay so comfortable.

Good Hotel, I recommend you !”

This hotel is located south of Central Market. The area is not so noisy in day and night time. you can go to Central Market, King Palace, and Golden Sorya Mall by walking. Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum can be approached by waking about 10-15 minutes. Room was clean, probably been renewed recently. Air conditioner was not so powerful but it's OK enough. Shower was hot and the water pressure is no problem. Breakfast was buffet style and the dishes are just like that of Chinese hotel. Customer was Farang, Korean and Chinese. Staffs are friendly and diligent. The room rate was valuable for these services. This hotel should be one of my favorite one for my staying at Phnom penh. I recommend it.

Good Location”

1. Hotel in the central of Phnom Penh, not at the main road but around 100m from the main road. 2. a new hotel with apartment style of hotel room, room is clean and comfortable. one bed room apartment size is very big. 3. local management hotel, staff is friendly and can speak Chinese but pls do not expect international level kinds of services.

Exceeded my expectations”

First of all, I was upgraded to studio unit which I did not expect. The unit was spacious. The bed was comfortable. Everything was just so good that I felt like staying in more than venturing out exploring Phnom Penh. The buffet spread was good too!
