Efficient Conference Trip”

Crossed a few oceans to visit Copenhagen for a conference. Conference hotels were outside of old town so I chose to stay close to where the action is. Building was on the older side. Atrium was a nice touch with sufficient light for reading and afternoon tea. Room was on the larger side of other Nordic accommodations I had experienced. Other than the elevator breaking down for a whole day upon arrival my stay was trouble-free. Location of the hotel was sauntering distance away to city sights, shopping, bars/lounges, and restaurants. Thanks to the hotel staff I could always come back to free mini-bar stocked with flat and sparkling water. Breakfast buffet was included in my reservation so I could get a quick bite before meetings. Some daily variations on the menu items would’ve been nice though. Hotel staff was helpful whenever I had questions regarding metro and transportation. If price point is a consideration First Hotel Kong Frederik is priced correctly for single/business travel

Character hotel in the heart of Copenhagen”

The lifts and the corridors at First Hotel Kong Frederik worried me at first as my father uses a mobility scooter and the lift being small, only just fit him in. He had some problems moving in and out due to the corridor behind being very limited but managed. The room size was great though and the location was fantastic for easily getting to all the central sights of Copenhagen on foot or mobility scooter which were my reasons for picking the hotel. The lobby was really nice and bright and sunny . Plus points were that the room fridge contents were free/included in the rates and downstairs had a coffee machine. Not entirely sure that the heater system in the room would have worked if it had been colder - there seemed to be no difference when i turned up or down the heaters in the room or the bathroom. This wasn't an issue during our stay in June as it was toasty enough under the covers (colder June than expected in CPH)

Expensive but convenient”

We stayed at First Hotel Kong Frederik for one night on our way back to Perth. The staff were very helpful and polite. We had a double room. It was quiet which was a bonus as the hotel is next door to a bar. If we had one of the front rooms it could have been very noisy. The location was good as it was near Stroget which is the main street with all the shops etc. It was also not too far from Tivoli Gardens. We did pay top dollar for the room and although there was a fridge with free mini bar (selected waters and a couple of cans of soft drink) there were no tea/coffee making facilities which was a let down for me as I do like the early morning or night time cuppa. There was also no safe :( There was no air-conditioning but I think that is quite common for hotels in Copenhagen. The room did have a fan. The deal we had did not include breakfast. If we had decided to have breakfast it would have cost us 155dk each per day. The hotel itself was full of character and full of charm.

I would recommend this hotel for travellers to Copenhagen. This hotel is good value for money. Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good particularly when it is included in the room rate. Copenhagen is an expensive city and this helps the budget a lot. The location is excellent being close to Tivoli, the train station and the shopping pedestrain walks. This woulod save lots of money on Taxis as Taxis are very expensive in Copenhagen. The hotel has just been renovated, Ican smell the fresh paint in the room when I stayed there in June 2010.

Reasonably priced!”

I enjoyed myself very much at the First Hotel Kong Frederik. I've stayed at an expensive hotel (twice the price of First Hotel) in Copenhagen and the experience at First was much better. It's value for money and centrally located.

it was a pleasant stay with First hotel Kong Frederik,the lobby area is quite boutique,and a free coffee tea machine(because there is no kettle in the room,but u can get many kinds of coffee and tea from the machine any time).central location, only 5 mins walk from the central station.room is bigger in EU standard.good for business or romantic trip.

Nice hotel for the location and price”

The room is not very big but has nice closet and some space for us to store our 3 large luggages + 2 cabin size luggages. Because the hotel is not that new so there is some kind of (just a little) bad smell when you first entering the room (mold?). Toilet has mold but overall is clean. Excellent location because it's just 5 mins away from the shopping street Stroget. Will stay here next time when I visit Copenhagen (but maybe not this type of room, I suggest you spend a little more to upgrade to a bigger/cleaner/newer room).

Great”

This hotel is perfectly located. 7 minutes from the central station, 5 minutes from Tivoli, 2 minutes from the City Hall square which is the central place pf the city. The "old city" is 2 minutes walking from the hotel, and there are many shops cafes and food places around it. The rooms are big and clean but the bath is way too small. The food is nice but nothing is special in the breakfast. The price was good and you are going to enjoy it.

Great location”

The hotel is located in the heart of Copenhagen making it ideal in you want to explore the city. However, for a 4 star hotel it felt that from basic amenities where missing which I expect to be included (such as slippers, hot water pot etc), room was big and spacious but overall the hotel is a bit worn down and the temperature in the room was impossible to adjust smoothly. We visited during feb and it we were either sweating or freezing. Breakfast wad ok. The stay was ok but I believe there are better hotels for the same price range out there in Copenhagen.

The best location”

To see Copenhagen best location. Easy walk to Tivoli Gardens, Town hall, railway station and only a pleasant 15 walk to Nyhaven. The hotel was clean, rooms a good size with a good breakfast

Nice looking hotel and clean room”

Was a pleasant one, except the hotel stairways. There were steps within the hotel and i had heavy luggages. It was a terrible experience to carry my luggages up alone without any help. Cant say much as i stayed in the hotel for one night only. Rooms are huge and walking distance to Stroget the shopping area.

Excellent hotel. Oldest, but very comfortable”

Had a very good stay. Oldest hotel in Copenhagen but very comfy thanks to a renovation in 2010. Good service, charming room, very central location. The list of past guests looked like a Who's Who.

Helpful staff, clean hotel”

The whole city is under renovation! However, the hotel has a great location very near Tivoli, and just a ten minute walk from the train station. The price of food may shock you, must look around a little, grit your teeth, and you will get through it!

Good place to stay”

Very comfortable and reasonable price for central Copenhagen. Restrant dinner was also nice, but it was very expensive.

efficiently Danish”

The location of the hotel -- walking distance from the train station and in the heart of a lovely neighbourhood, a block away from the beautiful City Hall. The hotel is charming and my room was on the more antique part. You could definitely witness its regal glory. The staff kind and helpful. I did not have breakfast at the hotel.

Kong Frederick - lovely place to stay”

This was a perfect place to stay. It was in the heart of Copenhagen, charming, old world feeling. Couldn't have been better.

Fancy hotel, superb locaton”

I've been trying out all first hotell in copenhagen now. This wasnt the best unfortunally. As I arrived at 11, checkin was at 14, so I had to stroll around a bit. I was able to leave my luggage there though. I was situated in a very small but cozy room (bathtub, free minibar ect ect). Tv-remote was missing. As I only stayed for one night I had to check out the resturant in the hotell. Service was abmysall, took ages to get the food and on top of it they cleared my table as they thought i left when i was in the toilet... No discount afterwards for theire obvious misstakes. Other then that, I can't complain on the hotell since it was really good, although I would choose first hotell skt. petri instead.

Good hotel but bad safety ”

Good hotel but bad safety. People can walk direct from the street 24 hour a day into the hotel. Nighttime sometime nobody in reception have to us the bell to wake them up. No Video surveillance in many area. Some rooms no safe be careful – no value belongings in rooms !
