Fantastic service”
We are budget travelers and we settled on Forest Home as the best budget option available. There are some slightly cheaper places, but their location is much worse compared to Forest Home. Just a short walk from the beach sitting on top of a hill. Breakfast is delivered to your room everyday with fresh burmese dishes mixed with some western eggs and toast. The staff were incredibly helpful and nice throughout our stay. Rooms are new, clean but basic. The rooms are wood/bamboo bungalow style but they come with good mosquito nets so you can sleep in peace. Only complaint is that it isn't directly beachside, but if you want that, you need to pay double the price or more depending on which resort.

Lovely bungalows, kind staff and great view!”
We loved our stay at Forest home. Bungalows are spacious and you have a nice size porch to sit on and enjoy amazing sunsets. Family who owns the place is very kind and helpful, it really felt like staying with our own family. They have very friendly doggy that slept on our porch most of the nights and wiggled his tail the moment we returned from the beach :). Beach is very close; max 10min walk, and that's if you walk very slow, you can really see the sea from your porch. Breakfast was nice and filling, and for dinner, there is a seafood restaurant nearby and some 15min walk there is a cafe and restaurant with fire show every night. The electricity is only available through generator from 6pm til 6am, but that is actually wonderful if you want to "disconnect" a bit. Overall, I would stay again here, and I regret not booking more nights! I really hope this place survives in the sea of big resorts that are poping around it.... it is really a rough gem :).

Wonderful view from bungalow”
We enjoyed every day we stayed at Forest Home. The bungalows are basic but nice and just what we needed. They're placed on a hill so you have a great view of the ocean and the sunset. It's a short and easy walk up the little hill. You have shadow almost all day on your private patio. There are also hammocks in the common area. It's easy to get to the beach, it's just a few minutes walk and you can use the beach chairs at the beach resorts. The beach is also very nice and the water is great to swim in. There are lots of restaurants nearby, and if you need to go into the small town you can either walk along the beach or get a motorbike taxi.

Great place to stay!”
Really enjoyed our stay at forest home resort. Tried some other guest houses but this is definetly the best value for money in Ngwesaung! Highlight: great breakfast with ocean view on your privat porch 👌🏻

Highly recommended budget accomodation ”
The owner was very nice and made everything easy for us. Again the breakfast was very good, the best we had so far in Myanmar. The rooms feel friendlier than on the pictures. The beds are nice and comfy. We wanted to stay 2 nights but in the end stayed 5. That really says it all. I really doubt you'll find better budget accomodation in Ngwesaung.

Great option price/quality if you want to avoid state-sponsored resorts”
The bungalows are simple but clean, provided with a mosquito net and a fan. Electricity only during the night, but this is practically everywhere in Ngwe Saung. It's a 2min walk to the beach, and if you have one of the higher bungalows, you can even see the ocean. Breakfast on your own terrass is simply amazing. The resort is a family run bussiness, kept by locals. You can see that they are struggling to keep up with the big fancy resorts sprouting up everywhere like mushrooms, who have a "different kind of funding" to say it subtle. It's important to support these local businesses before the entire town of Ngwe Saung ends up in the hands of big money. So yes, the Forest Home has some flaws, but at least you are supporting the right cause and get a great stay in return.

Best (only?) budget option close to the beach”
Forest Home is just across the road and up a hill from the beach. It's much closer to the beach than places in town, which are less expensive than the resorts, but where you have to walk 10-15 minutes to a public access point. The bungalow was clean and had a nice view of the ocean through the palms. The staff were not overly friendly, but provided good enough service, including a feast of a breakfast. Plus they have a cute dog and some kittens!

Perfect, Clean, Inexpensive Bungalow!”
Can't beat it for the price-- I mean seriously, what a screaming deal! The perfectly-sized bungalow is made from wood and bamboo, has a small table and a foam mattress bed with mosquito net. Bathroom has a western style toilet and a shower, everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. During the daytime, they cut the generators, and you'll be served hot breakfast as soon as you walk out to sit on your front porch (usually noodle stir fry with an over-easy egg, fresh fruit, toast, and plenty of tea). After soaking up some great breakfast and beautiful palm views, you can stumble 5 minutes' walk to the beach. It's situated directly in between Ngwe Saung proper (restaurants and shops) and the small town behind the Yacht Club. You can do fine on foot wandering to beaches or the surrounding restaurants, etc., but if necessary they have motorscooters available for rent (10,000K/day), or you can snag a motorbike ride for around 1,000K to anywhere along Ngwe Saung. My wife and I absolutely loved our stay, and would come again and again. To manage expectations-- again, they cut the power during daylight hours, and you and most of your bungalow neighbors will spend a good chunk of time on the front porch relaxing. Expect to hear and interact with people from all over the World. Additionally, there's no water heaters for the shower-- so expect a refreshing cool rinse when needed. Wasn't a problem for us, but to some it might come as a surprise! Recommended to adventurers without hesitation!

Great location , close to the beach, Seaview from our cabin, delightful freshly cooked breakfast”
Great place tucked away from the township, between the forest and the beach. Very private. Staff is good, no wifi. They also rent motorbike and bicycles cheaper than in the township. They can also book your bus tickets to go back to Yangon. Loved the breakfast

Neat bungalows close to the beach”
Fantastic value for money at this quaint beach resort. The manager speaks good English and is very helpful and honest. The bungalows are nice, with a huge bed, a patio and hammocks outside. Electricity doesn't work 6am to 6pm. Laundry service and bike rental are available and affordable. Breakfast is nice. No problems except for the millions of mosquitos that even get through the mosquito net, so bring repellent if staying here.

Nice bungalow, close to the beach and amazing breakfast”
The bungalows are on a hill close to the beach with a wonderful ocean view. The resort is about 3 kilometers south of Ngwe Saung Village, but you can rent a motorbike or just walk along the beautiful beach to get into the village with restaurants and shops. The breakfast was served directly to the bungalow and it was great. We stayed 5 nights and had different breakfasts with changing fruits, eggs, rice, toast or noodles and coffee. The owners are friendly and they have a nice dog who will join you to the beach.

top location”
Very nice location, the staff is really friendly and helping, beach is close - 5min on foot. Hotel below has a beach restaurant and bar, village is about 5km away. Unfortunately there was a construction site directly on the next plot, so it was bit dusty when they were working.

good value for the money”
we had three(plus the night we arrived) or four, cant remember. lol. nights at forrest home, and we really enjoyed it. cheap, nice bungalows, excellent service, breakfast with fruits, bread with butter or jam, noodles or rice, coffee and water, and possibillities to rent bicycles(2000kyats a day), or motorcycles(10000 kyats a day). one of their sons studies in Yangon and spoke decent english. If we go back, we would stay at the same place.

Beautiful bungalows with a good view”
The bungalows are new and roomy, only a 2 minute walk from the beach. Staff is great and your breakfast is served on your own veranda, we booked three night but stayed eight and we got every day a different breakfast. Also we arrived at 4AM and we are allowed to get our bungalow at this time without extra payment, plus an extra breakfast.

Basic but clean.”
The rooms are Basic but perfectly adequate. How long do you plan spending in your room with a beautiful beach 3 minutes walk away. The staff are friendly and helpful and speak enough English to help you out with getting around, finding places to eat etc. Each room has a small, shaded balcony so you can Enjoy sea views while escaping the Direct sun. Typically for Ngwe Saung, there's Only electricity from 6 pm to 6am so it's Worth taking a Power bank for additional charge for phones etc. Lovely place to relax forva few days.

Nice Place to stay. Good Value.”
Stayed in a really nice bamboo bungalow. It's basic, with a cold water shower, fan and electricity from 6pm till 6am only. But you don't need anything more! The quiet beach is less than a 5min walk away and the village is a K1000 motorbike taxi away. Really enjoyed staying here!
