Just stayed one night before to go to Bagan. Really clean, nice staff, confortable bed, nice breakfast, and cheap local restaurants around. Did not have time to explore around but if I need to stay few more nights in Mandalymay before to leave, I will definitely come back there

Good breakfast. Easy to walk from here although Mandalay is so huge so most people would get taxis. I stayed in the dorm pods, with individual lights and plug sockets. But, try and get a bottom one as the top ones aren’t actually fully enclosed and the main dorm lights are like floodlights on your bed.

This is the new, very relaxed, family run hostel, everyone is smiling, nothing is a problem, big breakfast, strong showers, good aircondition, would definitely recommend to anyone instead of established places which forgot myanmarese hospitality and are only trying to extract money. Great value and awesome staff.

Good price quality ratio. Clean facilities and friendly stuff. One drawback though (March 2019) everything is kept pretty simple....so if you are looking for a stylish hostel for alternative people, look further.

Pros: the room and the bed was clean. The location is good. Cons: the bathroom was dirty (never cleaned in 3 days), the breakfast did not offer many options and there was very little to eat, the staff does not try very hard to help.

Receptionist was not very helpful when I asked for express bus ticket. She reply me that I can book online even I explained I had an issue with my debit card. Luckly one man jumped in to help but I decided to buy from ticket agent/shop. I think they only care for western people. Very disappointed for that.

Better options elsewhere ”
Four Rivers MAY be a very well run hotel, but the hostel is no good. The bed capsules are unclean, with bug blood spots on the walls. The lockers are dusty and dirty. Toilets are not well ventilated.

Great hostel in Mandalay ”
After going Ostello Bello for a couple of days I decided to extend my stay in Mandalay and change hostel despite the hassle. I'm glad I did! Staff at 4 rivers was friendly and smiling, they helped me sort things out I had been struggling with. Breakfast is good and as it's a buffet you can choose from the different items (watermelon, various bread, eggs, tea, coffee, etc.). Dorms are clean: the 'capsule' dorm is great because you have privacy although you share it with 19 other people, there's air-con, lockers, a bedside lamp and a couple of power points next to your head. Showers and toilets are clean. And to top all this there's a cheap -- mains 1000-2000 kyats -- restaurant next to the hotel that serves delicious food! Don't bother looking anywhere else, this is the place!

My favorite hostel in Myanmar!”
I traveled from Yangon, Bagan, Inle to Mandalay and this is my favorite. The hotel has a big reception area. My room was on the 3rd floor yet have big staircases so it is ok to walk slower in case someone is on a rush. My bed is very comfy. I just don't like when some other guests banged the door. It is annoying. Maybe they can put some reminders in the door to be quiet :) Wifi is fast, you need to enter certain codes valid for 60 minutes. You will pay for 1,000 kyats for towel. I love how they do the DIY breakfast. You can cook your own eggs :) Make your breads and some added morning foods. Rooftop is spectacular! Comfort rooms are very clean and ventilated. Super love the hot water.

This hotel is good overall, online score is very high, come from the bus station about 7 kilometers, can take a mini bus arrived near the main street walk or taxi from the train station can also walk for about 25 minutes, you can take a taxi, the hotel is very clean, very spacious lobby, a bed the private space is very clean and comfortable, good night sleep, the hotel clothes is also very convenient, on the top floor, breakfast is on the top floor, breakfast is good and fruit, the overall best choice to Mandalay Backpackers

Brand new hostel in Mandalay, literally opened 2 weeks ago. Its like a hotel! New everything! Extremely helpful and friendly (under statement) staff. If your in Mandalay you'd be silly not to stay here, can't say enough good things! Cheers and thanks to the staff.

We had a great stay here. The staff was nice and provided us with many assistance. Room was nice, not too spacious but okay. Very clean. Hot shower was a bit funny, either cold or too hot. They provided bikes and motorbikes for rent, which was not too available in Mandalay. Not too far from the palace and the hills if you traveled by motorbike.

Worth the money, but WiFi is an issue!”
Nice clean comfy bed, but quite noisy because of the plastic cover on the mattress. A tad small room for 8 people, only one bathroom, needed to wait for it often when fully occupied. Location is little from the centre, if doing Mandalay Hill, monasteries and pagodas walking, takes all day. Breakfast included varies a bit every day, but it is tasteless, oily and cold. Rooftop has very nice sunset views and possibility to hang your hand-washed clothes as laundry is quite pricey. Helpful staff. Huge negative is Wifi working on-and-off! It didn't word at all one day.

Second stay says it all.”
This was just a a short one night stopover for me but my second stay at four rivers. The staff and owner are very helpful and will help book any further trips. The cubes are comfortable and give you a certain amount of privacy. The rooftop is convenient and a great place to start and end your day.

Excellent”
I stayed for 2 night in Mandalay and it was pleasant . The capsule bed was a little bit hot, always had to sleep with my curtain open. It was private though and you need to have your own lock for the locker. The shower was nice and clean. The location was also good. Breakfast with great value.
