Like all the hotels scattered through two zones in Naypyitaw, this one was built under orders from the military government, who demanded all their cronies build a new hotel in the new capital. This was done about 10 years ago. But what happens if you build a new capital....and nobody comes? Then you get a bunch of massive hotels trying desperately to just break even. To do this, they do no maintenance, only furnish half the rooms, and then put ridiculous deals on Agoda. And that is the Great Wall hotel. Brand new this was quite a place. A full gym with free weights and machines of all kinds. A large, deep swimming pool. An outdoor bar. A huge restaurant, impressive lobby, well-appointed rooms, etc. But in order to cut their losses, they haven't maintained the place. The pool deck varnish is faded. The chairs are rickity. The sidewalks are cracked. The paint is faded and peeling in places. The hotel was built in a rush, and none of the poor workmanship was ever fixed. There is lots of teak, marble, and expensive fixtures everywhere. But the end result is not as desired. It plainly looks like what it is, a ton of money thrown at something with no order or quality control, and then never maintained. The good things: The rooms are kept clean, at least by Myanmar standards. The internet is sufficient for browsing and emails, but not video streaming. The pool is quite well kept, not over chlorinated, and a nice blue color. The gym is really nice, with all the basics and then some. The beds are soft, the pillows a bit big for my taste but good, not lumpy. There is a hot water pot, coffee mix, and tea for free. There are lots of free goodies in the restroom, including a mini sewing set, a first for me. The room included a large tub, which was nice. But the hot water ran out before it was full, and it was not installed level, so water pooled on the side away from the drain, not so nice. The sheets, towels, etc were clean and pressed. Towels were changed every day,

这里在酒店2区，因为是中国人开的感到很安心，所以选择住在这里！在曼德勒也有长城酒店，是一个老板！这里的服务员非常热情，我缅语一点都不会说，男朋友要去上班，我的一日三餐都在酒店，很满意！but今晚酒店刚刚接待中国的旅行团，这个导游，让我十分吃惊！！！导游很大声的在大厅说着缅甸人很懒（还有其他说缅甸人不好的话语）！！！今晚的服务员不会说中文，所以还在微笑着服务。我十分愤怒，这个中国导游的素质太低了，服务员真的很热情，不懒惰，帮忙拿行李不用小费！好啦，吐槽一下！内比都酒店很多，竞争很激烈，希望大家可以选择这个友好地酒店，希望老板下次可以给一下子住一周的我优惠哈哈～ This is in the hotel area 2, because the owner of China is very comfortable, so choose to live here! There's also the Great Wall Hotel in Mandalay，same boss! The waiters here are very enthusiastic. I can't speak Burmese at all. My boyfriend is going to work. I have three meals a day in the hotel. I'm very satisfied! But tonight the hotel just received a tour group from China. This tour guide surprised me very much!!! The tour guide speaks loudly in the hall about the laziness of Burmese people (and other bad words about Burmese people)!!! The waiter can't speak Chinese tonight, so he's still smiling. I am very angry, the quality of this Chinese tour guide is too low, the waiter is really enthusiastic, not lazy, help with baggage without tips! All right, happy! There are many hotels in Naypyidaw and the competition is fierce. I hope you can choose this friendly hotel. I hope the boss can give me a discount next time to stay for a week.

A very clean and comfortable hotel right in the heart of Mandalay. The room was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and there were no problems with the hot water. The staff were friendly, the reception area was impressively designed and dining room had a great view. The breakfast was also top notch and was of a standard of much more expensive hotels elsewhere.

It was perfect, literally couldn’t fault a thing. The hotel was perfect, great room, great service, great staff, great food, great experience. If you want to relax whilst seeing the strangeness of Myanmar’s capital, stay here... you won’t want to leave! Thanks to all the staff that made our stay so comfortable.

Wonderful hospitality, poor WiFi ”
The hotel room was wonderful and spacious with a really nice bath and lots of hot water! The hotel staff were very friendly, kind of helpful in all matters! However, there were some downsides. The WiFi in my room was very poor, it wasn’t working for most of the time and only worked in one corner. The breakfast food was good, but the lunch food was not very tasty. Overall it is a decent hotel, but I wouldn’t recommend eating lunch or dinner there or going there if WiFi is important to you.

We really loved that hotel, they have complete breakfast menu The staffs were so polite and smiley, and i do like the way they served us and treat us like a vvip one :) I requested them to wash my car in 15 minutes as i have a meeting to catch and i was surprised when knowing the manager took care of it together and made it on time. Great place when on special prize”
This is probably the best place I stayed at during my short holiday in Myanmar. Clean, great facilities, friendly and attentive staff. About the only short coming that comes to mind was the lack of brewed coffee for breakfast. I had my own bike so transportation was not a problem for me. Some other travelers that I met hired a taxi for the day at a very reasonable cost and visited most sights in the area. I would visit again if I was in the area and the price was still low.

Hotel has cleanliness issue”
Stayed here because it was the closest hotel to my meeting location. hotel is cheap and like most places in NPT, it's almost empty. there is a restaurant on site and a small spa but nothing else near the hotel. Hotel staff are helpful and decent. there was a rat in my room which ran out when I opened the door. that freaked me out and the floor and tables generally feels greasy. would definitely not choose to stay in this hotel again despite the low price.

Very helpful and charming staff but the hotel has seen better days and is slowly falling apart from the top down. We had a view straight onto a derelict balcony. However the room was clean although the bath was not.

this hotel is in north zone, near government agency, just 10 mins for drive. but it's difficult to find a food for dinner. BTW, if you have your own car it's no problem.

If you're going to Naypyitaw to see the deserted grandeur, this place is great. It's quite far out of town, on a highway in hotel zone 2. The people are very friendly, but not everyone spoke some English.
