Historical Center hotels & accommodations

walk out of the station on the right side exit and before you is the hotel .... check in was a pleasure with courteous staff giving you a map of florence without asking..... the room was superb overlooking the station without any of the street noise coming through.......bed soft and very comfortable.....the breakfast is outstanding with such a variation of food this is...

When searching for this property upon arrival, just go directly to the Veneto Hotel, which is across the street and down from the actual residence property. Rooms are clean and very simple. Bed was not especially comfortable and shower had draining issue (but great pressure and heat!). Front desk staff are friendly and speak pretty good English and Spanish for those un...

The location of the hotel was very convenient for us as we were traveling by train. It was on the street directly opposite the train station about 5 minute walk. The concierge was standing at the gate and helped us in with our luggage something we didn't experience in any of the 4 star hotels in Italy. Check in was quick. The room itself was very nice and clean and ver...

Location is perfect. Right beside the bus station to the airport and near the train station. You can walk to the historical center in 10 minutes. Staff is extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast is great. Room is updated and clean. The 1 point less is the water heater that needed to be fixed. We's defenitely book this hotel again.

We really enjoyed this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful; spoke good English and were more than willing to help us with any needs. The breakfast was great; very yummy food. The room was large and very comfortable. The location is absolutely perfect--It is walking distances from most historic locations, mini marts, and restaurants. Would highly recomm...

Right in front of the Duomo at the Historic Center where everything happens. You can walk anywhere worth visiting. And it’s also just a short walk from the train station. Hop on Hop off has close stops too. Our room was simple but had an amazing Duomo view that made it perfect. Breakfast is very good. You need to pay for €10 if it’s not included in your room fee. With...

We had such a lovely stay and fully appreciate why this lovely family business has earned its 4 stars. The staff were so polite and helpful, the room, which included a dressing room, wad clean and spacious and clearly much thought had been given to making the environment as comfortable as possible. This included a lovely varied breakfast (continental - my preference) b...

The hotel is partially under (much-needed) renovation and staff is not always as helpful and cheerful as you would expect from a 4-star in the historical centre. Having said that, rooms are fully functional, comfortable and clean and the location is as good as it gets. Prices reflect the overall offering and make it worth the stay. I would come back. Tip: request a fu...

Excellent value for the money. Very short walk from SMN train station and everything else in historic Florence. One of the best breakfasts I had in Europe. Staff (except for one) was very helpful and friendly. I had probably the least expensive room, which may have explained why it was tiny and had a bathroom (private) across the hall, but the room and bathroom we...

Book for triple room and they provide us baby crib as requested. Room was on 1st floor but from the hotel lobby to 1st floor there is no elevator. But there is separate lift goes to another floor, I am confused of the layout of the hotel cause some floor has elevator some can't use the same elevator. Staff were very nice. Breakfast was good. Bathroom needs serious upgr...

Florence .. i think most beauty destination.. everywhere smells art and historic and when you reached piazza michelangelo firenze .. it worth .. so romantic city.. after this hostel is so close city center and train station but the kitchen is not enough i guess

Very fashionable designed room. New and clean with big shower stall. We had a room facing the street with balcony, which was a bonus. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Very good location with restaurants and a small high end supermarket down the street, attached to the train station. Hotel is on a side street, which is quieter yet few minutes walk to...

Our Italy trip. This hotel is the best. Bed is super comfortable, location is just next to city center only 1-2 mins. Room is very big and facility here is all you need. I love the most is bed and breakfast. Staff is also nice to. We arrived quite late at 10pm and met old man staff but he's so nice and willing to answer all question, to show us everything and also help...

This is a lovely hotel very central within walking distance of everything you want to see. There are several restaurants in the same street but not far to walk to the center. The rooms are very small, but they provide a computer for your use and a power board. Bed was comfortable but pillows were hard, but that seems to be common in most places we have stayed. The brea...

Very well kept old hotel with nice ;lobby and seating area. Room is of decent size with a well maintained toilet cum shower. The air-con is very cold and the wi-fi is very strong. The breakfast starts at 7.30am. They serve buffet breakfast with a decent amount of choices. We stayed 4 nights but on 2 mornings we have to be out early before their breakfast starts and th...

While still a part of the historical center of Florence, I find that this place is in the periphery of the city center where tourists tend to flock. Nonetheless, anyone with a good pair of legs will find this hotel to be located within a reasonable distance. It is in the same block as the Church of Santa Croce but it is a big block. I walk slow to appreciate the pla...

Built during the Renaissance period the building and its rooms are old, but so is Florence. This hotel is in a perfect location with just short walk to sightseeing locations, markets, shops and eateries. Staff here are the best we have ever encountered. Very friendly and willing to help. Be warned there is no lift but they have a porter who will carry bags. This hot...

Hotel is perfectly located near the train station and leather markets _. Walls are thin so you hear people coming and going and in the hallways you can gear the rooms. Computer for printing boarding passes and good WiFi. Roof top bar has the best views over the city so go up for a drink. Great views from the breakfast room and buffet was extensive. Staff were very help...

We love this hotel and it’s location and have stayed several times. The staff are very friendly, efficient and always ready to help. Beds and pillows are very comfortable, this can be rare in many hotels. There is also a great roof top bar with a good view. The one thing I think that is missing is a coffee machine in the rooms. We really enjoy a coffee on getting up ...

Only draw back to this place was the stairs up to its 3rd floor possie. Otherwise it's very central to the sights of Florence, and mid way between the two main train stations - app 15 minutes walk to each. The river isn't much further - and a bit of a climb then gets you up onto Michaelangelo Piazza, for the most amazing view of the city - without having to pay, and qu...

We did have a great and wonderful time in this Hotel. When arrived, the young female lady in the front desk gave us a warm greeting and kindly provide us good info for local food. The room we booked is a junior suite which is large, clean, beautiful and well equipped . The location is perfect , close to Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, very convinient to everywhere...
Cheap places to stay in Historical Center

In terms of food, this is the best hostel that I have been to! There's a restaurant serving cheap but tasty lunch and dinner. The breakfast is just amazing! I really like the coffee cake and I ate a lot! The small garden of the hostel is also very good. I like to sit there enjoying meals. The hostel provides free walking tour every day, which is very nice and useful fo...

(+) clean room. Free towel. Clean room everyday and towel change everyday. Shower gel and shampoo are provided. Have swimming pool. A common room with limited tool but at least you can make noodles with microwave or water boiler. Good wifi. spacious room. Toilet and shower rooms are serperated so it's very convenient. Helpful staff and security guard. He helped me wit...

The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the railway station in Florence. It is located in the historical centre and all the main attractions including the Duomo, Basillica of Santa Maria Novella is only a few minutes walk from the hotel. The staff speak good English and is very helpful and friendly. One of the hotel staff, Elton, even showed us the best places to eat and...

Excellent location, 5 mins walk to FNM station, all furniture update, and remodelled, great shower but little small. Nice bedroom and living room. New AC that works so well in each room. Noisy at night time, although windows were closed. Pillows are not comfortable. Great convenient stores, Laundromat, and Restaurants next to the hotels. Comfortable and convenient enou...

I stayed here for two nights while touring Florence. This hotel is located on the second floor of a building so it was a bit confusing for me to locate it at first (but this makes this hotel a safe one to stay). Also the elevator is not auto; it is an old-fashioned one with a button to be pushed manually to lift up. I found it very interesting though since this broug...

We originally booked a room from iH Hotels Firenze Business and spent our first night in Florence there, but one-way taxi trips (12 mins.) to the city center came up to 30€ so we decided to book Hotel Desiree last minute and we were so glad we did. The staff was super friendly, the night was only 48€, the location was unbeatable, only 2 min. walk from the train station...

Hotel Ester is walking distance to SM Novella train station. Outside the stn. turn left and walk all the way to this hotel. From the distance you will see McDonalds. It is very close to McDonalds; just turn your head to the left and look up. You will see Hotel Ester signage. It is centrally located walking distance to historic sites such as the Duomo, Accademia Gallery...

Staff was great at accommodating our late arrival and different schedule. There is not a 24 hour staff person available however, and we found that emailing Lorenzo was the easiest way to communicate. It is on the third floor so be prepared to climb the stairs.

This is an older building and is very historical. It is a few minutes walk from the train station, Dave Statue and the food markets. The staff is very helpful and sweet. Because of the historical status of the building, some rooms have shared bathrooms and the rooms are small. Otherwise it is a great hotel for a short stay in Florence, Italy.

We had a small hire car with us and the Hotel offered us free car parking on site which is normally 15Euro per car per day. I think we got free parking because it was low season and there weren't many other guests with cars as our car was the only one parked in their small courtyard. Rooms are very basic for a 3-star hotel, there was no fridge, no tea and coffee making...

the hotel is located right next to the city center, but in a silent street. We had a very nice double room with a terrace and private bathroom for only 54€ a night. The air conditioning is broken, but at least there's a ventilator. If you wish to visit the splendid Florence for a couple of days this is an excellent rest spot

Plus -everything expected is included (wine opener. USB charger. Laundry. Good quality iron, hair dryer, coffee pot, vending machine, smart TV with netflix etc.) - good location (near smn stn./ city center / market) - very friendly staff - very clean and modern interior - all the stuff clean and good enough So readyvto be used - never be disturbe...

The hostel is based on a antique building on Florence's historical center. The stone stairs, the huge wooden doors, the cold solidness of the walls, it all sends you back in time. However its the interest of the staff in creating a good vibe is, IMHO, is their brightest quality. I stayed just one night. In that night, the staff made a communal dinner, a delicious pasta...

Best hosts ever. They are so nice and kind. The room was clean and beautiful as you can see in the pics. The location is about 5-10 mins to the train station depend on how fast you are. I would definitely recommend you to stay here while you are visiting Firenze.

Great little studio apartment, bathroom a little cramped for a big guy, but a cracking view over the rooftops to the dome. The facilities were good, but no washing machine, launderette just in the next street. Tom floor with a number of stairs. Turn right and there is a great little shop on the opposite corner for cheese, salami, olives etc..

Thank you Domenico for your hospitality. It was a warm welcome. My favourite has got to be the kitchen and the bikes for guests. We missed cooking back at home and we made dinner here with delicious Italian produce. L’Arancia provides all the basics (including olive oil and good pots and pans to cook with). The bikes were awesome. There were only two available but the ...

This 4 star hotel is within a stone's throw of the Duomo and hence most of the sights of Florence. It's also a short walk from the train station (about 10 minutes); having the correct address on the booking site and walking directions would have been helpful. The staff, location, cleanliness and the fact they take your bags to the room are great qualities of this 16th century hotel. The surprise factor which dragged all these positives down was our room. When we went to check in, we were offered an upgrade of €25 per night as we had an economy room that was on the top floor. We kindly declined the offer as we didn't real...

A 3 star hotel but it's not quite satisfactory. + Location is a plus, close to the center. + A Double room is good for 2 with 2 big luggage. - Bathroom is very small, and feels not that clean. - Facilities is old. Air conditioner is old and very noisy. We just turned it off and sleep with opened window, luckily it's in late Oct. Asked for a water boiler, they...

My wife and i loved the great service, excellent room and central location in Florence. We could walk to the main historical attractions and there were nice eateries around. As it was our honeymoon, the hotel took extra effort to prepare champagne in the room and gave us a room with a balcony. Excellent all round. Would definitely return to this hotel.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon. The hotel and staff were top notch. This is a pricey hotel, but since it was our honeymoon we splurged on the room. For you that appreciate historic building, antique furnitures and paintings will be thrilled to stay here, the room still quite authentic and well preserved, me my self i got room with wooden handcraft and handpainted ceiling . the hotel location was great, amidst nice shops and restaurants. the building itself is historical so groups of tourists would come round several times each day to snap pictures of it - sometimes while you're walking in and out of the entrance. tip: dress nice?? may be a little difficult for taxis to drive you in and out especially with your luggages in tow if the...

When you got lost around the city and you're trying to beat the checkout time of 12noon, the sweetest thing you'll hear from the reception staff is "it's absolutely ok, take your time, madam". This is how friendly and warm the staff is at Star Hotels Michaelangelo, looking after their guests. When I arrived from an early morning flight from Paris, like many of the ho...

I will stay at the same hotel when I visit Firenze. The room was so lovely and perfect with good window view. It was located in the center of Firenze, so that I can reach anywhere easily. But from the train station, it was a little bit difficult to find the place because the hotel is small and the hotel sign is too small.

The Grand Hotel Minerva is centrally located, a short walk to everything - museums, historical sights, train station, and the best gelato in the city! Piazza di Santa Maria Novella is always bustling with artists and activities. Their roof top pool was great for unwinding after a day spent touring museums. The rooftop pool also has a wonderful view of the city. The...

Perfect location, right in the city center n 15 mins walk to train station. Spacious n clean room, nice staff. Not v good breakfast with little choices and the priced food are usually included in other hotels. Seems weird to be charged on an extra price list. Overall good.

This stately hotel is in the very midst of the museums and famous piazzas of the historic center of Firenze, literally 2 blocks from Il Duomo, and yet it is a serene and relaxing sanctuary from the crowds and noise. The rooms are lovely, comfortable and blessedly quiet. The view from my window was surpassed only by the view from the hotel's rooftop terrace. I arrived ...

Good hotel, located close enough to the center while not so close as to suffer from high prices. Modern rooms, copious breakfast. Excellent restaurant next door (Borderline - book in advance). Large car park (free of charge) in front of the hotel. Only drawback are the elevators, old dyfunctional (one out of 2). Very pleasant staff, multiligual too.

We know this hotel is not near Santa Maria Novella station and all the points of interests but what sealed the deal was we were looking for a nice room for our 4 nights stay, with a budget. It did not disappoint. The room smelled so good! every single time we arrived in our room. Modern bathroom with an elegant vanity with big mirror and a bathtub, comfortable king bed...

We loved every part of our stay at Hotel Milu! My husband and I traveled here for a "second honeymoon" and wanted something nice but reasonably-priced, and not too far from the central area of Florence. This was a perfect choice. It is chic, modern, clean, upscale, and is only a couple streets tucked away from the piazzas. It may not always be super quiet at night when...

We have stayed with our 10-months old baby-boy for three nights. Hotel’s location is definitely perfect for Florence, its located in the center of a triangle (Duomo, Piazza Signore, Ponte Vecchio). They have changed towels everyday which we seriously pay attention. Our baby-boy eats boiled-egg in his breakfast which is not on the breakfast menu, every morning we kindly...

Its within walking distance from the train station, since its in the city center all the interesting places are also with in walking distance, the Florence Cathedral and Baptistry, Uffizi Gallery, Galleria dell Accademia, Ponte Vecchio and Piazza della Signoria. The breakfast choices was fine and laundry service was quite inexpensive . A self service laundry is in f...

The Santa Croce displayed a high level of professionalism, good manners and customer service from the moment we stepped in till the time we had to leave. Our room was immaculate and very well appointed. The public rooms in the hotel need to be seen to be believed. Sadly, I can't really recommend this hotel any longer although staying there several times previously. They remodeled and from the outside things look very modern and fancy. However, they sadly lack basic necessities in the bathroom, like places to hang and put your things. The half glassed in shower curtain lets water spew out onto the floor no matter how careful ...

Images don't show whole beauty of this hotel, and I mean it. While choosing a hotel to stay in Florence, I wanted something old-fashioned, Italian, something authentic. This hotel seemed to be like that, however, I was afraid to arrive at the room with rubbed furniture. But when we entered a lobby and saw the celling, floor, furniture, we seemed to be in a fairytale. ...

This is a great 5 star hotel in the center of the city. Location is perfect - literally walking distance to major attractions. Staffs are very nice, professional and give good advices on the restaurants. Room is small but very clean and comfortable. Would definitely come back!
