"we checked into this hotel, having booked standard room, could not stay in those they look either onto blank walls or into the rooms of house next door..i mean only 3ft away! i loved the housekeeping and reception staff, our deluxe room was 68 dollars, but worth while. best thing is wifi free in your room. tv is a bit awful just two channels for english speakers. best laundry anywhere and the restaurant staff are so lovely. breakfast a little bit hit and miss but they try so hard. its a long way from town and costs a lot to get there. there is a great korean restaurant turn right out of the hotel on the corner of inwa rd. all together a nice place to stay if your happy to pay the price. its not like the picture on the advert though.. "I stayed at the Golden Guest Inn with a friend for 2 nights at the beginning of our trip around Myanmar. The hotel manager, Tat Wynn, is really helpful with any directions or advice, he was always happy to help with any questions. The rooms are simple, but very clean. All of the staff are polite and friendly. The wifi is excellent & it ended up being the only place in Myanmar that we stayed at that had fast wifi! We really liked it here & appreciated the great deal of assistance that the manager gave us so much that we booked our last night in Yangon here as well instead of trying elsewhere. There are plenty of nice places to eat around that are super cheap, including the Leo Restaurant, which they will recommend. Taxis are always going past, so they are really easy to get also. All you have to do is walk out the front. You pick what you want for breakfast the night before & give them a time & it is prepared fresh in the morning for you, it is a good quality breakfast with good options. My only small gripe was a karaoke bar nearby that was a bit loud if you wanted to get to sleep early for early flights the next day, but they were usually quiet by 10pm-ish, so no great drama. I would highly recommend the Golden Guest Inn to anyone going to Yangon. We popped over to The Strand for high tea & the wifi was not good at all, so we were impressed with where we were staying. Make sure you take the manager's business card out as not all taxi drivers know where it is until you show them the card, but they all know Insein Road."

"The location was awesome. It was situated in a secure and upscale compound surrounding by several embassies. Quiet and peaceful yet across the road is Inya Lake with walkover bridge to the greenery park great for morning walk and exercises. Bike World B&B offers a very friendly hospitality from owner to staff level. Aunty Soe Soe, Amie and those Myanmar names I forgot and little cuddles Colly and Phi Phi welcome me like home. Their linen is same class as I can find in 4 & 5 stars hotels. Good mattress, puffy pillow. Well toiletry amenities, security safe, fridge, TV screen with satellite and many channels to watch. More than enough sockets and the owner even brought an extra before I asked for it. They also have in-house pizza for sale at a very good price. I tried salami and chorizo with my colleague then next day one more pan of salami. Really delicious with high quality ingredients. Only wonder why they rate themselves one star when their hospitality and so on should be 3 stars+."

"Everyone at the hotel was very helpful and friendly (English language is not the best but it works anyhow). The road is a deadend and therefore not so much traffic in front of the hotel. The road is clean compared to the other ones around. The hotel is also very clean. The room we were in is a 3 bed room. It is the biggest they have, they said but could be bigger anyway. We stayed here for some time because we are settling work wise in to Yangon and we did not regret it. But we also know that hotel standards in Myanmar are not necessarily what you would expect in other places for the same price. The best is the hotel is still quite new and internet works well for Myanmar circumstances. "

"ery good. affordable, comfy and clean. staff is accommodating. we can't remember her name, but she can speak English very well so there's not much of miscommunication. it's best to get a hotel pick-up for convenience. we paid 8,000 kyats. normally, one taxi is good for 2-3 passengers. but there were four of us. and i said that we're just "small and slim people" so we could fit in one cab, and the hotel said yes. best to clarify this with them so expectations are clear. we were not able to extend our check-out time because the hotel was fully booked, but the staff / manager was kind enough to let us use the common toilet to take a shower before we took the sleeper bus to bagan. it's very hot and you'd really want to take a shower before taking the bus. so we were really very grateful for this extension of service. that is one big plus. taxis here don't use a meter so it's best to check estimated fare rates with the hotel so you don't get ripped off. you can negotiate fare with the drivers but some tend to be picky and all that, but generally, people here are honest. amenities are ok. toilet is clean but small. toilet and shower are fit in one room so floor gets wet. toilet slippers are provided though so you don't wet your feet if you just need to use the toilet. free wifi is fast enough. not much of a problem really. we just stayed for one night, but it was all good. we are happy and satisfied guests."
