A Room With A View”

You'll find Hotel Chautari after a winding and bumpy journey up the mountain from the Kathmandu valley. If you've not prepared for the infrastructure, or lack of it, it may come as a surprise. Nagarkot has been developed from a hilltop hamlet into a a series of hotels along the mountain pass, but there is little else. The hotel itself is lovely: fantastic location and beautiful surroundings, it really is a great retreat. However, aside from the hotel and others nearby, you'll not find much else to do other than relax with a good book, drink in the view or possibly venture out for a hike. The staff, as with all in Nepal, are extremely polite, helpful and friendly; the environment is peaceful and serene. On our first night we were pleasantly surprised to find that reception provide reminder calls to the rooms for both breakfast and dinner - we later realised that this was essential, as once the kitchen closes at night, there are no alternatives nearby for food and drink. Most rooms have large French doors and a balcony, to enjoy the Himalayan view. As with everywhere in Nepal, power can be intermittent, so use of the wi-fi and air-con is not guaranteed. The bathroom also lacked comfort, and at times, warm water. Despite that, it is a worthy journey, away from the heat and pollution of Kathmandu, a wonderful place to watch the sunrise over the Himalayas.

Amazing and Wonderful”

it is a 1 day stay at Hotel Chautari. Staff is very good faster check-in. Room will be provided at best location as requested. Nice big luxury room with full transparent glass viewing SUNSET and SUNRISE. It is really a amazing view from the hotel. This is the most exclusive room like 5 star. Mountain views are very nice specially the sunrise is so amazing that it must be in the eyes and cannot be captured by any camera. Only eyes can see and feel that. Just feel good.

Best Value And Nice Location”

Excellent location close to lske side town and fewa lake within 5 mins walking, nice and clean hotel with new facility, nice and reasonable priced food, as usual, Nepali friendly and helpful staff. walk around the old town , tibetan village nearby to meet nice local people.Newly build hotel with air condition and mosquito net and repellent.

Secluded Himalayan Getaway”

This hotel is up in the mountains but for those who are willing its a great escape! We arrived and each night enjoyed the sunrise and the Himalayan view right from our room. The staff helped up arrange local hikes, and helped us explore the city of Bakhtapur all within our budget. The hotel is about a steep hour up into the mountains but the views, serenity, and friendly staff are well worth the trip. The hotel grounds are gorgeous - full of flowers, mini trellises, and stone walkways - really full of charm. Also it was the only hotel in Nepal we stayed at that had hot water in December. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more!

Beautiful Himalayas ”

The location of this hotel is lovely, gorgeous views of the mountain range on a clear day. We were messed around a fair bit during our stay. We stayed for three nights and were moved to a different room each day. The rooms are basic but you don't really spend too much time in them. The restaurant served fairly good Indian/ Chinese and Nepalese cuisine. The biggest down fall is the beds! The beds were awful in every room we stayed in. My fold up camping mattress would be better. Unless your planning multiple hikes, I wouldn't recommend staying more than 2 days as there's not a great deal to do in Nagarkot

Good hotel noce service”

Very good view from balcony at room. Room's very good and clean with facilities in good condition. Staffs very nice and so helpful. Can walk around hotel to town for sightseeing. Hv internet wifi at hotel. Dinner at hotel restaurant is recommended. Food is good and the pice is resonable.

Spacious accommodation and good buffet meals”

Manager couldn't have been more willing to help us enjoy our stay, arrange meals at times to suit and excursions. Climate and local conditions. Must be very challenging for anyone in the hotel business. Frequent electricity failures mean standby generators had to kick in a lot of the time. The hot water supply didn't always reach some of the furthest suites - though when that happened, we were given a key to use another suite's shower room. The hotel is still partly a work in progress, with building continuing (no disruption to guests).

Good location to see sunrise and sun set”

Hotel location with a very good mountain view. You may just sit at the room, you can see the sunrise.

The place was quite good and the view from the hotel room was fantastic. But it is too bad only has wifi in lobby not in room. The staff was very friendly and has nice food.

Review”

Though we had booked a suite, what we were given was a double bed room with third bed put in. No hot water was available when we reached after a long drive from Chitwan National Park via Patan in the evening, nor it was available in the morning and we had to do with shower with cold water, despite our request on 30th evening for hot water early in the morning as we were to check out early at around 8.00 a. m. on 31st. Thus, the hotel does not deserve three star rating in terms of service. I would rate the value for money as 'poor' for this hotel.

Great views”

Great location, great views. The rooms were clean. The staff was helpful and polite. Good food. The only thing I didn't like: no hot water in the shower/tap.

Actually the food are good, especially roast banana,we ate lot;But the room we rest are bad.i booked the room ten days ago, and finally get a room with bad smell,and have no good room can be change; who can tell me why?

there was too much climbing of stairs for elderly ”

the main disappointment was the standard of food that was on offer. the service temperature of the buffet food was less than satisfactory as it was in most cases just warm instead of piping hot, 65* Celsius on one occasion I had to tell the service staff to take the hot food back to the kitchen to get it to the right service temperature. warm food is dangerous particularly in a country such as Nepal where hygiene standards are not good and the water is not clean.
