When in Sandestin, you are a little captive to surrounding businesses there including this hotel. The Hotel Effie is a LOVELY hotel and its very very clean, which is a bonus. They need to have a few budget friendly options amd variety on the menus. The rooftop bar drinks were also too strong to drink. Front desk check in is a bit slow for this being a hotel that hosts a # of meetings for companies. Seems like that could be more efficient. Our flight was late and we asked for late check out. We could be accommodated for half the room cost. I asked if they had a place we could freshen up if we just used the pool and ate at restaurant and answer was there are no facilities for that. During slow season, granting these requests can make one a repeat customer. The cleanliness though is certainly a plus.

Beautiful grounds and hotel, 10th floor rooftop is fun, the restaurant is excellent. Bring a car because Uber/Lyft in that area is scarce.

Luxury Meets Leisure ”
A wonderful, welcoming and luxurious accommodations provided at Hotel Effie. The space and design of the hotel, to the comfortable, clean rooms with well curated details, to the rooftop cocktails and dinner at Ovide was exceptional. Staff was friendly and attentive. A whole "Effie" experience.

Luxury Hotel But Misses The Mark ”
Luxury is something this hotel wants to be from valet only to aesthetics. However this Hotel falls short on things cheaper hotels have. The Restaurant is over priced for the quality of food you get which is poor and you would be better off going somewhere else. The Rolls were bricks along with being tasteless to the steak being subpar. When it comes to the room the bed is hard much like the rolls which is a big let down considering ive been in cheaper hotel rooms with much softer beds. Having bags in the trashcans in the room would have been nice as well. The rest of the room is fine however if you are paying for the balcony its not very spacious but is a nice overlook. The transport to the beach and other activities is nice. The worst part was that the pool is only open from sunrise to sunset so no really set time and no enjoyment for a night swim. the pool seemed heated which was nice but lacks a point if you cant even use it at night. Valet seemed to be the best part.

This was our last stop during our summer road trip. We were expecting a beautiful relaxing resort. Unfortunately, we experienced the worst. 1. Check in is at 4:30, we waited over 2 hours to get our room, by then we had to cancel our dinner reservations bc so. 2. Entering our room, there was this awful smell (too strong of a scent). 3. THEN AS WE LAID IN OUR BEDS TO RELAX, WE LAID IN SOMEONES URINE! 4. We were moved to another room with 1 king bed (we booked 2 queens), had no soap, only 2 FIRM pillows, and 2 towels. Let’s not forget to mention we had to move our stuff and we still hadn’t gotten to eat dinner! Also, had to tip the bellman once again! 5. Our bed were very FIRM! We were not expecting our sleep to be so uncomfortable for a 4-5star hotel! 6. Anytime we needed assistance, we were put on a long hold, after requesting we never received the assistance. We had to ask the house keeping on our own. Shame! This was not an enjoyable experience, as a matter of fact this was very stressful. It seems being a new hotel, they still are low on staff and/or the staff is not fully trained properly.
