Our first snow experience”
We would love to experience falling snow as we would always see snow on the ground. So, we booked a week stay at this hotel. Waking up to a sumptuous breakfast, taking our time to always savor the different eastern and western flavors. Our room has a very good city view that we would always look out for falling snow. And finally on our third morning, we woke up to falling snow. This hotel has all the amenities that we need and just enough space for us to comfortably sleep and move around for a whole week. There are convenience stores nearby that sells delicious authentic Japanese food. This hotel is highly recommendable.

Hotel Monterey (and Hotel Monterey Edelhof where I was moved to) are in an ideal location - close to both Sapporo Station and the Odori Park area. The staff was very helpful, friendly and professional. The buffet breakfast was the best ever with food to satisfy everyone. I recommend the relaxing spa and the spa lounge with city views. I couldn’t have stayed at a better place! Thank you, Hotel Monterey!

Gorgeous hotel! From the very photogenic lobby, to the old fashioned but speedy elevator the trip to the room was highly satisfying! The room came with a free cell phone to use during our stay, and retained the antique elegant theme of the entire hotel! Everywhere we wanted to go was within walking distance. Highly recommended!

The hotel itself is like a museum with Victorian art gallery. It's interiors are meticulously decorated from elevators down to the rest rooms. The breakfast buffet offers lots of choices. The hotel toiletries are replaced daily. It is also a few minutes walk to the JR station. I cannot say anything bad about the hotel. I will stay here again if ever I come back to Sapporo.

Classic hotel at great location”
Hotel is very classic in its outlook and its inner decoration. Room is kind of small and slightly old in decoration but is normal compared to other hotels in Japan. Staff is very helpful. We have asked them to save our luggages for 1 day and we checked out to go to stay the hot spring area. They are willing to offer the help. Location is great as there are 2 or 3 metro station exit near the hotels which makes it very convenient for tour around.

Unique kind of hotel”
I love the total ambiance and theme of the hotel especially the chapel and the restaurant beside it. The European style made it unique from all the other hotels. It's good that the shower room and toilet are separate and each has it's own lavatory. They have complimentary bottled water good for 4 persons for 2 nights stay. The staff were very accommodating even if they know few english words only . Worth the price.

Cool, antique style - great value! ”
I stayed for about 7200 yen for a night (during COVID, so prices may have been cheaper), but this hotel could easily charge double. Very cool vibe! Only stayed one night, so didn't get to enjoy all the amenities. Walkable to downtown spots. Would come back!

The hotel location nears Sapporo station, around 5-7 minutes walking distance, very convenient. Check-in process is fast, breakfast is awesome, I am glad to stay in Monterey hotel. However, when I booked the hotel, price changed everyday, I tried so many times in order to get the best price.

Charming hotel, with a sort of fairytale, utopia take on Europe. Short walk from the main railway station, and within walking distance from many attractions. Staff seem fluent in English.

Dedicated Staff”
We 'd like to thank a front desk staff Aki Nakajima (not sure if the last name is correct!). She conversed very well in English which helped us tremendously in getting medical help as our elder son was very ill as we checked into the hotel. Aki helped us to contact the hospital for their availability, spoke to the medical officer about our son's condition. She was very caring and attended to our need very well. As for other staff, although they don't speak English well, their gestures and response showed concern and cheerful in helping us. Thank you and thumbs up to you all. Keep up the hospitality.
