Excellent hotel. Definitely recommending this!”
Very good hotel in an ideal location. Located in Siem Reap's central area, Somadevi is a kilometer or two away from Pub Street and around 7-8km away from Angkor Wat. Finding public transportation wouldn't be difficult since a lot of tuktuks are stationed in the hotel parking and outside the hotel premises. They'll usually charge you $1-2 for a short distance ride. If you want to rent a tuktuk for a whole day or for a tour, just ask the front desk and they'll happily arrange it for you. This usually costs $15-20 for a whole day (sunrise-sunset). They have good rooms with fast internet access, a huge bathroom, comfortable beds and cable TV. The hotel also offers free buffet breakfast which gives you a chance to devour an international array of dishes - from different pastries, an omelette and a noodle station and other famous breakfast food. Somadevi also has a big pool located at the center of the establishment. This is a must in hotels in Siem Reap for me since you'll be battling with the heat as you visit temples all-day long. It has a mini-bar where you can order sandwiches or cocktails while you cool-off. Had a bad experience though with one of their staff who was getting arrogant and frustrated with the language barrier while we booked a tuktuk but aside from that, the staff was more than friendly and accommodating. Definitely coming back here!

Friendly hotel with much convenience”
somadevi hotel is a great experience to me! i was first impressed with the hospitability that somadevi brought. all the staff there seemed so friendly and they actually spent more than an hour just instructing me where and how to travel in siem reap. beside an amiable attitude, somadevi has a great swimming and spa area, which is, i believe, the best part of the hotel. the swimming pool is adorned with two small lotus ponds and a bar, which lend the pool a blend of modernity and nature. next to the pool is a garden, my favorite place, where an artificial waterfall and kinds of flowers together make a great picture of nature. this beautiful and peaceful backyard is also a spa area. here i can rest and enjoy myself to the full.

A name you want to remember”
Stayed at the Somadevi over New Year. They put on a magnificent dinner/show/entertainment with 100's of guests complete with fireworks, one that you want to travel to Siem Reap to be present at. The decorations, including the letters of 'Somadevi Angkor Hotel' made out 500mm high ice lined up across the stage, were spot on. A huge range of foods from around the world was on offer; and there was plenty of everything. We eat many meals in our lifetime but very few are memorable - this was and for the right reasons. Staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful throughout our stay. Rooms were large with everything that you could want. This hotel is in town close enough to walk to nearby restaurants, massages and shops. Recommended stay1

Great location, friendly, helpful staff and clean, well-equipped rooms”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Somadevi Angkor. The hotel pool and spa were lovely to use after sight seeing and the breakfast was excellent! It is an easy walk to the Pub Street, Old market area and a quick tik-tuk ride to Angkor Wat. The hotel staff was very helpful about getting a tuk-tuk and driver for us. I would certainly recommend this hotel to friends travelling to Siem Reap.

Dear Jane, We are very grateful for your 10 review score of the Hotel Somadevi Angkor Resort & Spa! We are glad that you had an overall enjoyable and amazing stay with us.We look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel in the near future! Best regards, Kong Phirom (Mr.) E-commerce Manager.
lovely hotel,ideal location”
We stayed in 2 deluxe rooms. The rooms were nicely furnished and fairly spacious. Beds were comfortable.i was pleasantly surprised to find an extra twin bed in my room for my 8 year old son although we had not requested for one.Toothbrushes, combs, razors and cottonbuds were also provided in addition to the usual toiletries. The towels were clean. There was a decent array of food at breakfast. As we are muslims, we did not take meat or pork. Still, there was more thanenough choices for us. On my youngest son's birthday, my elder son had asked the counter staff to wish him happy birthday when he walked past them. Not only did they wish him, they were also very friendly and one even sang him a birthday song! It really made his day. as we had stayed over the christmas period,we attended the christmas eve dinner. Aggain, there were plenty of choices and the entertainment was good. We even won lucky draw! The hotel's location alloed us to walk out to the night market as well as the bazaar. However, we had very little time for sopping and did not venture t thenearby shopping centres. For the more athletic, te victoria park and Angkor national museum is located near the hotel; probably around 10-20 minutes walk. The Jayavarman V11 children's hospital is on the route to the Angkor archeological park. Run largely on charity, this hospital accepts donations in cash and blood ( yes, they encourage tourists to donate blood as they do have a large number of dengue haemorrhagic fever and surgeries). The hotel's central location and affordable price makes this a good choice for visitors to Siem Reap. Would I stay at this hotel again? Yes.

Excellent Location & Facilities”
The hotel has probably the best pool I've seen in Siem Reap, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. The rooms are clean, comfortable and more than big enough for a king size bed, with cot, and still plenty of room to swing the proverbial cat. The location is good - easy access straight out to Angkor Wat area, as well as the other temple sites, and walking (5-10min) from Siem Reap 'centre' (ie the market and pub street areas). Downsides - breakfast was included, its probably best described as average. The bathrooms are functional (and again spacious), but since its a 3-4* hotel, don't expect 5* luxury - at a 3-4 * level, the breakfast and bathrooms are certainly not cons.

Great value for your money! Close to Angkor!”
Great value for your money if you are planning to visit Siem Reap and spend most of the time in the Angkor Wat Complex and return to a very clean room to take a hot bath or shower in the large bathroom and then a nice sleep in the large comfortable bed to get you ready for a whole new day ahead of temple sightseeing. The buffet breakfast is very complete and very delicious I must say, wasn't expecting this... Great! The swimming pool was very nice and refreshing as well as the spa room in case you feel a foot massage after walking for so long is needed. In summary, my short stay in Somadevi was great and relaxing and would do it all over again if I ever return to Cambodia. Thanks!

Somadevi Angkor”
The Somadevi Hotel was excellent. Located within easy walk of markets, Pub St[great cheap meals and drinks] and Siem Reap central. There's internet in room at cost but just down the road is a very cheap internet cafe. The pool and pool bar are a welcome oasis after a hot day trekking around the temples. The hotel decor is very nice and I would recommend for a wide range of travelers from singles to families. Agoda rates make the Somadevi very good value for money!

Somadevi Angkor Hotel”
The Somadevi Angkor Hotel Siem Reap is a great place to stay. Its within 'short walking distance of the town centre with easy access to Pub Street for food and drinks and the various markets. It has internet access at a cost but the internet cafe is very close and cheap. Tuk Tuks are available for tours of the city or visits to the many temples. The staff are a delight and always willing to help. The pool is an oasis after a hot day at the temples- the pool bar is an added bonus. Had a great time here!!

A hotel worth considering”
Hotel Somadevi was a comfortable hotel for our family. We were able to get connecting rooms. The bathroom was the best we encountered on our 2 weeks in Thailand and Cambodia - large with a separate bath. The bedrooms were also the largest we encountered. The free WiFi was appreciated. The pool is large and deep (1.7m at one end - so watch your children!). The beds were very firm but this is also something we regularly experienced in Thailand. The hotel breakfast was average, and the coffee was horrible but it isn't a long walk to find a half decent coffee as the hotel is just off the main road. We ate lunch there one day and it was fine. It was a $US1 tuk tuk ride to town (Pub Street and the night markets). Front desk staff were very helpful and had good English. We used the spa treatment but we found using the gym off putting as the gym and the spa are co-located and there were a large number of staff standing around just watching. The hotel was being extended when we were there in late June but the construction work was not off putting. I would recommend the hotel but bear in mind Siem Reap hotels are not to the same standard as Thai hotels. In other words, I suggest you aim for at least a 4 star plus hotel if you prefer comfort.

A 5 star experience that only costs 3 star”
When we arrived at SomaDevi Angkor Hotel, we were so exhausted from the connecting flight as we had to wait for 6 hours before we board the plane to Siem Reap, and we were very pleased with the hotel reception as initially we could not check in the room early and we asked to have the room clean and we had the room earlier that the normal check in time and we could take a rest and the hotel staff are very friendly too.

Very friendly staff, good environment”
It's the second time I stayed in Somadevi, The staff is as friendly and helpful as last time. My mother was taking photo at the swimming pool and a staff kindly offered to take a photo of her without even her request! How moving! There is a small incident though. I was asked to pay for a can of coke when I checked out, though I haven't consumed any. The staff finally accepted my explanation and did not charge me. I think such incident can be avoided if the staff has checked what's in the fridge before guests check in. Nonetheless, I still appreciated the staff's hospitality and the hotel environment very much! And the breakfast is very good too. Will definitely choose this hotel again if I visit Siem Reap next time.

Pleasantly surprising”
We stayed 3 nights in Somadevi and it was really a good choice starting from unique inside hotel decoration up to attractions which were easily reached by tuk-tuk or taxi. It's only a 5 minutes walk to all the bars, shops and night spots, and about 20 minutes to Angkor Temples by taxi. There's a nice river abt 300 meters from the hotel where you can relax after the sunset. The hotel pool is perfectly clean and open since early morning till night so you can refresh after the excursions. Should we go to Siem Reap again it will certainly be our place for stay!

Superb”
We had a great stay at the Somadevi from the moment we arrived to the day we reluctantly checked out. It was ideally located 5 minutes away by tuk tuk from the heart of Seam Reap. It is off a busy main road with supermarkets etc, but as soon as you pull into the Hotel driveway and walk into the lobby it is very tranquil with a waterfall and fresh flowers all around you. The staff could not do enough for you and always with a smile, anything we requested was dealt with immediately. We arrived late in the evening and check-in was very quick, our room was very nice with a lovely view of the pool and surrounding gardens. Breakfast was good although only served until 9.30am.We didn't eat much in the hotel as the surrounding restaurants are plentiful, cheap and delicious. We made enquiries about the bus to Pnomh Penh and 5 minutes later they had booked it all from reception for us with a free pick up to the bus station for the next day. The pool and spa are amazing all surrounded by beautiful gardens and waterfalls with sweet smelling flowers and fruit trees. I was offered on my arrival 40% discounted spa treatments which were all excellent and worth every dollar. Everything is in easy reach from the hotel and there is always tuk tuk's in the driveway to take you at very good prices which are all negotiable. If I return to Seam Reap I would book this hotel without hesitation.

Great service with a Smile”
We had a relaxing stay here in Somadevi. The new rooms in the new wing are very spacious and comfortable. There was a good selection of western choices for breakfast. Their croissants literally melts in your mouth. The people are always gracious and lit up with a smile. The hotel is located along the center of civilation . The Pub street, the Night Market, the Central Markets and the Old Markets are just a few meters walk away. You can hire a dedicated Tuktuk Driver for a day for only USD 8 and he'll bring you around town. It was fun seeing the city proper of Siem Reap through Tuktuk.

Fantastic ”
I love this hotel. Every staff there is friendly and always willing to help you . There are many choices of food for breakfasts and the breakfast starts early from 6am, which is good for guests who are going to visit Angkor Wat in the morning. The swimming pool is large, however, the water isn't very clean as I could not see far when I dived in. The only thing I don't like is the gym, which is too small and does not match the photos shown on agoda. Other than that, everything was great during my stay. The hotel is very near to the night market too which only takes you 5min by walk. They also help guests book bus tickets too! I booked my bus ticket to Phnom Penh at USD $13 through the receptionist. They don't charge any service fee as the standard ticket price for Mekong express from Siem Reap to PP is $13.

Excellent hotel with very nice facilities”
This hotel is very well located in the heart of Siem Reap city, just few minutes away from the busy Pub Street and its numerous bars and restaurants. The swimming pool is large and very nice with a pool bar that allows you to enjoy cocktails right inside the pool and at reasonable prices. There is also a pleasant jacuzzi at one end of the pool. The rooms are well furnished and clean and the bathroom is particularly pleasant with a very nice spa-type shower system. The breakfast offers a large buffet with both Western and Asian dishes. Overall, a great choice when staying in Siem Reap.

Value for Money Four Star Hotel”
we stayed in siem reap from may 27 to may 31. we booked a 3 star hotel during our first night because we arrived at 10:30pm. the next day we just crossed the street to book at somadevi. it was such a pleasure! the lobby was beautiful, they even had cold towel and lemongrass to welcome us. the room was already great as far as we were concerned but i read in other reviews that the newer rooms were even much better! the food was also good. if you had a heavy breakfast maybe no need to even take lunch the location is a short walk (10 minutes or less) to the old market, night market, pub street, etc! highly recommended!
