We only stayed here for one night but it was a nice experience. The room and bathroom were beautiful and the shower was even more amazing. The room comes well equipped with kettle, iron, hangers, toiletries, towels and even a guide to Birmingham. The continental breakfast was amazing and there was a lot of offer. Everything tasted so fresh and they even offer vegetarian sausages on request. Thanks to agoda the price we paid made the stay even better. The only negative was when we had left the hotel we mistakenly left our mobile in the room. We called less than an hour later to get them to look, but 5 mins later we got a call to say they couldn't find the phone despite us telling them where is was. To cut a long story short, we went back to the hotel and found the phone in the place we told them it would be. Despite this little hiccup the overall stay was great and I would recommend it. Just make sure you don't accidentally leave anything behind.

This hotel rocks! What you see in the pics is what you get. No "we show you our best room and then you'll get nothing like this" scam. We've stayed there for 5 nights on our lazy vacation so we have been sleeping for hours and stayed in a lot. A huge, very comfy bed. QUIET room with nice view. Even though the room is small it's really comfy in general. Shower is very very nice. Staff was very nice as well. All that place is very modern and quiet, in nice neighbourhood, 15 minutes walk from the city centre (Bullring). Plenty of shops and cafes nearby. Vending machine in the lobby offers snacks and hot/cold drinks for a pound. The free Wifi is super fast and always works. The only small minus is that after long hot shower whole room gets really steamy. Also there is no place to put your things or bags but that is not really a big problem. It will definitely be my first choice for my next stay in Birmingham really soon!

I stayed in this hotel before I had read any of the reviews and was surprised at how poorly it had been reviewed by some others. This hotel is a beautiful old building with Gargoyles adorning the outside, but it is very old, my room was modern to an ok standard and clean, there is some refurbishment going on in this hotel but it will take some millions to get it complete but they are doing it up, I did overhear some other guests complaining about their rooms so clearly not all were done yet so be ready.. my room was a perfect example of the photos shown on Agoda and clean, location wise it was perfect and there are some great local bars that do good food, the hotel is located in the poorer end of town and initially I was very wary walking the streets but I found the locals friendly and polite, this end of town has turned into bit of a student mecca with a college and backpackers near by, so it has a young but laid back vibe but for its location for me was perfect for the price and only a 5 minute drive into the centre of town.I understand some of the gripes I have read but this hotel caters for the wedding parties so it can get a bit noisy,I had someone trying to get me up at 6am because he had the wrong room!! but all in all a very nice stay and would go back, one thing I would add is that I wouldn't leave an expensive car on the street and be careful of valuables being left on seats as I saw broken glass on the floor where a window had been put through in the past,but my car was fine (its older)and so were the other guests, I never saw any trouble and wouldn't have an issue staying here again.

The hotel, facilities, location are all great. It's a good 4* hotel, has some dated decor but you don't mind it as it fits with the hotel well. The views of the city from the 20th floor are brilliant too. The major let down was the staff. Front desk and housekeeping. We stayed for 2 nights, the housekeeping didn't change the bedsheets, or the complimentary water, tea and glasses were not even touched, still there from when we used them the first night. When we saw this we didn't really mind, we phoned front desk about having this sorted, they informed us it will be done. On our way out to spend the day outside the hotel, we just gently reminded front desk again and we were reassured it would be sorted. We returned back to the hotel approximately 8 hours later, there was no change. We asked front desk again to have this sorted, which for is tea addicts was now becoming a problem!, again this time the front desk apologised and said it will be sorted, we went out for an evening meal. When we returned again- no change. When we put it a bit firmly to front desk this time, the problem was sorted in 2 minutes. It was a real let down as he enjoyed our stay at the hotel but having to tell staff 4/5 times to do a simple task was a big disappointment. I would recommend staying here, it's probably the best hotel in Birmingham, however, a bit of a let down by certain individual staff. There is room for parking for a charge of £9.30 for 24 hours, but it is small, there is a 24 hour pay and display literally 30 second walk from the hotel that charges £6 for 24 hours.

I stayed with a friend as we were having a night out drinking and eating in Birmingham. The room and bathroom were clean and modern, towels white and fluffy, bed sheets spotless and the mattress so comfortable I had the best nights sleep I’ve had in months. Got a great deal through Agoda including breakfast, (a large selection of cooked breakfast and bakery items served in a bright and airy restaurant area. It really hit the spot. Cheap parking in Moor St for £7 for the total time we were there. Great value for the city and just a 5 min walk from the hotel. All in all, a big thumbs up. We would definitely stay again when returning to Birmingham.

I was with my family ( all girls and a young child ) checking out from hotel heading to London. We have a few big luggages and shopping begs to carry and we were on our way to the nearest train station. The front desk staff saw us in this situation and in his first intention he showed us short cut by leading us to the back door. This little action has saved us a lot of time and energy. As such, we managed to get to the train on time once we reached train station. Or else, we will need to wait for the next train probably in 20 minutes to half an hour. By the time we reached London, it was before 11pm. I'm sure if this staff didn't show us the short cut, we will be late for the train, late to reach london, late to check in hotel in London. If I come to Birmingham again, this hotel is going to be the first one I will check for free rooms. I went there after studying the city map a bit, and because the price was reduced (around 80 EUR per night). I had a room with a king size bed (absolutely comfortable) on the 7th floor. This leads to my perhaps only point of criticism, namely I wasn't able to lower the temperature in the room to below something like 23-25 degrees, although I set the AC to 16 degrees. (Windows can't be opened.) A receptionist told me that it may have been due to the location under the roof, and the sun operating. Well, maybe; most of the time it was sunny indeed. I didn't use the spa facilities nor the breakfast (but I did use the Starbucks in the lobby and was satisfied). The location was perfect to me for two reasons: it's very close to the city centre, and to the New Street train station, which is 9 minutes of a train ride away from the Airport station, and 7 minutes from the University station (my conference was at the Edgbaston campus). Of great value for a conference-goer was the electric iron and the complimentary tea/coffee in the room. The hotel also had socket adapters that I could borrow (I forgot mine from the Continent), and separate USB charger sockets (perfect idea). I missed some shelf space a bit, but was able to use my suitcase as an ersatz set of shelves... Needed to re-log to the wi-fi all too often (that was a bit irritating). A supermarket is a few steps away, and there is a variety of restaurants to choose from, in the vicinity. The picturesque canal district is a few minutes away. All the staff were absolutely polite and helpful.

We used the hotel as a base from which to go for a meal, drinks and entertainment. The hotel was perfect for what we wanted - good value for money, clean, spacious and central location. The only downside about the location is the noise from outside in the early hours but this was to be expected and doesn't detract from the fact that if we were looking for a place to stay in central Birmingham for a night we would definitely stay there again.

what a find, this hotel is managed incredibly well, all the staff have a view "can do" attitude. based in the heart of birmingham city in the chinese district, all the shopping you can handle at the bull ring, i left my wife to shop while i attended business at the nec she was overwhelmed with the quality of shops and markets. dinner was a breeze, every style of food possible within 10 mins from hotel. i normally stay at a 4* 10 mins away but will return next opportunity. take the wife most shops are reduced costs against london south (earn brownie points)

growing up in Birmingham, this hotel is a local institution and regarded as very 'posh'. It has many merits-a lovely building, well maintained and right in the heart of the city (literally next to the station). Although the staff were wonderful on one day-polite, helpful and friendly-when we arrived the staff member who checked us in was quite artificial in conversation, very abrupt and ignored us for the next day as we walked past the desk. One night all the fire alarms went off-we followed the evacuation route to a back alley! No one from the hotel checked we were OK and there was much confusion -we were sent back in with alarms still ringing, then evacuated a second time…the staff seemed ill prepared for an emergency and did not clearly communicate what was happening. Not very nice at 1 am! Didn't eat at the hotel as veggie options were unimaginative. We would not stay here again for the money charged but if you don't have dietary restrictions and want to be in a lovely building in the heart of town, it is still a fair option.

This was a fabulous hotel. The room was crisp, clean, with aircon ! Yay ! Needed it on a really hot day ! The beds were comfy with a choice of firm or soft pillows. Shower was easy to control but could have done with a bit more power. We were offered a room on the top floor which was great. Absolutely no disturbance at any point. The staff were all helpful and friendly, can't be faulted. After the concert we came back to the hotel and had drinks in the bar and a pizza. Thought the prices for a hotel were very reasonable. The hotel felt secure with a security guy on duty when we returned late Saturday evening, and keycards operating the lift going up. I would highly recommend this hotel for its central location, comfortable rooms and friendly staff.

I booked and paid in full for a one night stay to attend my Daughter's graduation. On my way to Birmingham I received a phone call to say that the hotel through a "technical issue" was overbooked and they were moving me to an alternative outside the centre. This was not acceptable and I asked them if there was nothing in the centre of Birmingham he said no. To cut a long story straight through Agoda I found another room at an alternative hotel just down the road. So when the receptionist at the AC said there was no rooms available in Birmingham he obviously hadn't tried looking very hard.

The best hotel I have ever been to. The staff made my stay super comfortable. I will definitely be booking with this hotel again when I come up Birmingham. When I arrived the receptionists were so lovely to me and my friend. I honestly do not have a bad word to say about this hotel. Wish I stayed longer because the staff were that nice. Shout out to the guy who was on reception when I left!! I’ll be seeing you again ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I’ll be back!!

We arrived at about 6.30 to check in, this was completed quickly. We were advised not to put out room card near our mobile, which we immediately forgot and then couldn't get in the lift. The receptionist sorted this straight away. The rooms are big, bright and clean and the bathroom was a good size with a big shower. The location isn't the best in birmingham and it's a good 20 mins walk to broad street however we were going to the jam house which was literally around the corne so was ideal for us. We were advised to be up early if we didn't want to queue for the buffet breakfast. We went down for 8.40 till about 9.15 and there was no queue. There was plenty of choice if foods, juices and drinks. Check out wasn't till 12 so we could take time getting ready and then reception called us a taxi and advised us how much it should cost to get back to the station

I wanted somewhere to stay within walking distance of the Conservative party conference. Most places were full and after a couple of hours searching found the comfort inn which checked all the boxes. Its an older hotel but was very clean, the staff friendly and served an excellent breakfast. It would be my first choice on a subsequent visit to Birmingham and is easy walking distance from New Street and Moor street stations.
