Hotels near Coffin Works

We had an executive room, which gave us access to the executive lounge. This was fabulous value as free drinks and canapés are served from 6-9pm. Rofuto restaurant was very impressive and breakfast the next morning was one of the best we've had at any hotel. It's a bit of a walk to Birmingham New Street, 15 mins or so, but an über taxi cost less than £3.50. I'd put the hotel at more of a 5 star than a 4. Much more luxurious than the other 4 star Birmingham hotels we've stayed in.

This hotel rocks! What you see in the pics is what you get. No "we show you our best room and then you'll get nothing like this" scam. We've stayed there for 5 nights on our lazy vacation so we have been sleeping for hours and stayed in a lot. A huge, very comfy bed. QUIET room with nice view. Even though the room is small it's really comfy in general. Shower is very very nice. Staff was very nice as well. All that place is very modern and quiet, in nice neighbourhood, 15 minutes walk from the city centre (Bullring). Plenty of shops and cafes nearby. Vending machine in the lobby offers snacks and hot/cold drinks for a pound. The free Wifi is super fast and always works. The only small minus is that after long hot shower whole room gets really steamy. Also there is no place to put your things or bags but that is not really a big problem. It will definitely be my first choice for my next stay in Birmingham really soon!

So reading the reviews on here is thought I may as well put in my 2 pence worth. Ive stayed here on a number of occasions for work and nights out and never once had a problem. The hotel could do with refurbishing but if you’re using this hotel for a nights kip then it’s brill. Word of advice, when booking just always ask for a working heater as I do. Facilities are standard but what else do you expect for a low budget hotel? Also, I’ve never once gotten a room here to notice any marks not staines on my bedsheets and as I’ve said previously, I’ve stayed here on a number of occasions (atleast 8 times) Most of the staff are lovely albeit one or two rather moody receptionist. (An older man and a young women)

The hotel, facilities, location are all great. It's a good 4* hotel, has some dated decor but you don't mind it as it fits with the hotel well. The views of the city from the 20th floor are brilliant too. The major let down was the staff. Front desk and housekeeping. We stayed for 2 nights, the housekeeping didn't change the bedsheets, or the complimentary water, tea and glasses were not even touched, still there from when we used them the first night. When we saw this we didn't really mind, we phoned front desk about having this sorted, they informed us it will be done. On our way out to spend the day outside the hotel, we just gently reminded front desk again and we were reassured it would be sorted. We returned back to the hotel approximately 8 hours later, there was no change. We asked front desk again to have this sorted, which for is tea addicts was now becoming a problem!, again this time the front desk apologised and said it will be sorted, we went out for an evening meal. When we returned again- no change. When we put it a bit firmly to front desk this time, the problem was sorted in 2 minutes. It was a real let down as he enjoyed our stay at the hotel but having to tell staff 4/5 times to do a simple task was a big disappointment. I would recommend staying here, it's probably the best hotel in Birmingham, however, a bit of a let down by certain individual staff. There is room for parking for a charge of £9.30 for 24 hours, but it is small, there is a 24 hour pay and display literally 30 second walk from the hotel that charges £6 for 24 hours.

I stayed with a friend as we were having a night out drinking and eating in Birmingham. The room and bathroom were clean and modern, towels white and fluffy, bed sheets spotless and the mattress so comfortable I had the best nights sleep I’ve had in months. Got a great deal through Agoda including breakfast, (a large selection of cooked breakfast and bakery items served in a bright and airy restaurant area. It really hit the spot. Cheap parking in Moor St for £7 for the total time we were there. Great value for the city and just a 5 min walk from the hotel. All in all, a big thumbs up. We would definitely stay again when returning to Birmingham.

This is a good hotel. Distance from New Street station is fantastic but its a shame the surrounding area is so grubby and run down. The welcome and checking-in was warm and professional. The room was very good, a little cold though. No matter what I tried to do with the thermostat, nothing seemed to change this. I did mention it when leaving the hotel. I should have said it during my stay to be honest. One of the main reasons for booking this hotel, apart from location, was its gym. I was hoping it wold be a good one and one I would expect to be in a 4 star hotel. But it was awful and useless. 6 dumb bells, 2 running machines, 1 rowing machine. There were 4 people working out in the room and that was over crowded. If someone was using the dumb bells, you had no chance unless you wanted to be hit in the face by one. It was the worst gym I have ever seen in a 4 star hotel. I did speak to reception about this and they said it was going to be refurbished, no date was given. This was the only down side to it and dont want it to over shadow what is mainly a good hotel

Less than 3 minutes walk from the back of the Bullring. Reviews talking about the area being unsafe are unfounded - it's a town centre hotel, so of course it will be 'lively'. No uncomfortable moments while I stayed there. Rooms are incredibly comfy. The 'pull down' bed people talk about, is a REAL bed - it just happens to store on the wall if you need more space. It has a luxury foam mattress on top - best night's sleep I'd had in ages. Kitchen had everything you needed and the bathroom was clean and spacious. Fantastic to have an iron ready in the room. Can't wait to stay again.

If I come to Birmingham again, this hotel is going to be the first one I will check for free rooms. I went there after studying the city map a bit, and because the price was reduced (around 80 EUR per night). I had a room with a king size bed (absolutely comfortable) on the 7th floor. This leads to my perhaps only point of criticism, namely I wasn't able to lower the temperature in the room to below something like 23-25 degrees, although I set the AC to 16 degrees. (Windows can't be opened.) A receptionist told me that it may have been due to the location under the roof, and the sun operating. Well, maybe; most of the time it was sunny indeed. I didn't use the spa facilities nor the breakfast (but I did use the Starbucks in the lobby and was satisfied). The location was perfect to me for two reasons: it's very close to the city centre, and to the New Street train station, which is 9 minutes of a train ride away from the Airport station, and 7 minutes from the University station (my conference was at the Edgbaston campus). Of great value for a conference-goer was the electric iron and the complimentary tea/coffee in the room. The hotel also had socket adapters that I could borrow (I forgot mine from the Continent), and separate USB charger sockets (perfect idea). I missed some shelf space a bit, but was able to use my suitcase as an ersatz set of shelves... Needed to re-log to the wi-fi all too often (that was a bit irritating). A supermarket is a few steps away, and there is a variety of restaurants to choose from, in the vicinity. The picturesque canal district is a few minutes away. All the staff were absolutely polite and helpful.

We stayed ree nights here to attend the wedding of my wife's niece. The hotel room is big and clean but a bit dated. The reception lounge was modern and nicely decorated with seating sofa and chairs. As hotel guests, we were charged about 9 pound per head for a good buffet breakfast by paying one day in advance, very good value. The city centre is within walking distance by walking eastwards, passing the Symphony Hall, the Library and the Town Hall. After twn hall, there are many shops and eating places. The hotel is situated in the partying area of the riverside. There are also many pubs and restaurants between the hotel and the canal.Hotel parking is expensive though at 14 pound for overnight up to 24 hours, but separate charges for different entries. So for the second day, we parked at the private carpark next to the hotel at 8 pound for 24 hours with multiple entries.

Bar and food is served 24hours, everything is within walking distance, nightclubs is literally 1 min walk to the left , shopping is 3 min walk, great spot defiantly recommend it .. only thing I would have to say is when I booked through agoda I used my card and forgot to bring it with me so I couldn't check in until I got someone to send me a picture back home of it so the details could be put through on the System as a deposit for the room, other than that had great time

The room was as described on the website...ample size, comfortable and clean with a touch of luxury. The staff worked seamlessly behind the scenes to make our stay one to remember. The service was a bit slow at breakfast but eggs and porridge were cooked to perfection we had to ask twice for marmalade as this was not among the preserves on the table and ..oh dear the tea..why was it grey.. it certainly wasn't Earl! Shame as we had been spoilt with Twinings Breakfast tea in the room. Overall though we had a very pleasant stay and would recomment this hotel ; especially as it is in the heart of the city and so close to Birmingham New Street rail station.

The Hotel still feels new and crisp, the rooms are excellent with clean, crisp linen, neat furnishings and a decent sized shower. The ONLY drawback of this compact hotel was that they don't do early book-ins, even after I mentioned that my flight would land 7:10am and that I would want to book in at 7:45am, they merely mentioned that they could only accommodate me at 15:00! Luckily a room went open two hours and the receptionist could assist me. Other than that the stay was pleasant, affordable and quaint.

I booked and paid in full for a one night stay to attend my Daughter's graduation. On my way to Birmingham I received a phone call to say that the hotel through a "technical issue" was overbooked and they were moving me to an alternative outside the centre. This was not acceptable and I asked them if there was nothing in the centre of Birmingham he said no. To cut a long story straight through Agoda I found another room at an alternative hotel just down the road. So when the receptionist at the AC said there was no rooms available in Birmingham he obviously hadn't tried looking very hard.

perfect place to stay. large modern room, super clean, beautiful bathroom and fittings, tv and large desk, internet sockets free wifi and sofa, the room was large! gym downstairs, fully equiped bar in reception and lounge area, perfect for either working or socialising in. the breakfast i have to say was the best break fast i have had in the uk, selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolates english cooked breakfast, fresh fruit, yoghurts, toasts, croissant, muffins, cereals, preserves etc i would highly reccomend!!

The best hotel I have ever been to. The staff made my stay super comfortable. I will definitely be booking with this hotel again when I come up Birmingham. When I arrived the receptionists were so lovely to me and my friend. I honestly do not have a bad word to say about this hotel. Wish I stayed longer because the staff were that nice. Shout out to the guy who was on reception when I left!! I’ll be seeing you again ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I’ll be back!!

Stayed 2 nights. The double room originally assigned was small and claustrophobic, but a friendly receptionist quickly moved us to an handicapped-accessible room on the same floor (6th) which was much better. A/C worked well, bathroom very compact but clean with modern fittings. Only complaint was the fixed shower head, making it difficult for my wife to wash her hair. Also scant storage space with hanging bar but no closet or shelves. Free wifi worked well. Free continental breakfast buffet fair but the machine-dispensed coffee awful - stick to tea! Free on-street parking 6 pm to 8 am, so we did not use the paid hotel parking. Simple but good pub food in "The Shakespeare" next door. Short walk to major museums and city center. Recommend the quaint but fascinating Pen Museum in the nearby Jewellery Quarter.

Very good hotel with excellent location( but at first was difficult to find it). In the middle of city center! Very warm, quit, comfortable, with city view.. Use the kitchen in the room every day ( because we don't eat hot-dogs and hamburgers which we find in all bars) and the dishwasher was very useful! Supermarket with food is only any steps from hotel. Breakfast was good. Staff is very friendly.Recommend to all!! Can't say nothing bad.. Everything was perfect!!

We arrived at about 6.30 to check in, this was completed quickly. We were advised not to put out room card near our mobile, which we immediately forgot and then couldn't get in the lift. The receptionist sorted this straight away. The rooms are big, bright and clean and the bathroom was a good size with a big shower. The location isn't the best in birmingham and it's a good 20 mins walk to broad street however we were going to the jam house which was literally around the corne so was ideal for us. We were advised to be up early if we didn't want to queue for the buffet breakfast. We went down for 8.40 till about 9.15 and there was no queue. There was plenty of choice if foods, juices and drinks. Check out wasn't till 12 so we could take time getting ready and then reception called us a taxi and advised us how much it should cost to get back to the station
