Hotels near Cruise Line Terminal/Pier 35

Very clean. Spacious rooms, which are tastefully decorated and well furnished. Good restaurant. Convenient location if you are traveling with a family with Walgreens (which we would use for drinks, quick sandwiches, snacks, etc.) and CVS only two blocks in different directions. A Starbucks in the building was also VERY convenient and appreciated for morning coffee and/or breakfast sandwiches. Staff at every touchpoint (bellhop, concierge, front desk, room service, housekeeping) were friendly, professional and efficient - same comments for B&W Car Rental & UPS, which are also located in the building. UPS received a package for me for a small fee ($6). The hotel is only a couple of blocks from a cable car starting point, which is a fun and convenient way to get to Pier 39 . I would recommend Hotel Nikko without hesitation.

I booked a balcony room. That was a perfect room with nice view city, and amazing conditions. You can observe whole downtown San Francisco and enjoy sunset or dawn a vocation day. Location is perfect and convenient for shopping and dining. You can walk and shopping around best location. Recommend: i will book a balcony room for next time. Very safety and staff was good training.

Very clean and view up top was amazing.Parking is expensive we paid $35-60 to park with a few blocks.Also there is an additional “Urban “ tax which was almost $40 included in fee of room, for amenities and gym.... so factor in some additional fees to this hotel. We paid a total of $210, with parking, to stay there and the thought we got a good deal of $130. Still the rooms, locations and all the rest did make it worth the cost, and you are downtown SF!!

Granted: the area - at the edge of the Tenderloin - may not the best, but given the (for European standards) simply insane prices for hotel rooms elsewhere in San Francisco, this was excellent value for money. In contrast to many other - much more expensive - hotels I've seen in the city, which claim to be newly built or renovated but already have a somewhat shabby look and feel, the room and the entire hotel were impeccably clean and modern. Also, instead of the usual 'minibar-rip-off', there were gratuitous water and snacks in the room. And last but definitely not least, while I cannot say that the personnel at other SF hotels was unfriendly, the staff here was exceptionally nice and helpful (thank you for that!). I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Apart from being centrally located next to union square, it's close to all the shopping that you need and restaurants. It's also walkable to public transports. The rooms are new and spacious, I even had a 'powder area'. The best was staff attentiveness. As I had a flight to catch at midnight, I requested to extend my booking till the evening , and I was willing to pay the extra half a night. The front office checked and offered me free extension up to 6pm! No hotel has ever offered this! Really great

My stay was wonderful as the view I get is beautiful! The room is more of a business oriented rooms, suitable for business trips as the work desk is really spacious with good lighting overlooking the city/bay. The room is also very clean. However the room lacks a mini refrigerator and also cups but have your own coffee machine and a spacious wardrobe which is a plus. The location of the hotel is a short walk to piers and situated at Chinatown which is good if you're looking for great Chinese cuisine restaurants. Reaching the subway is abit of a walk though.

Check in a little slow and Ireques highest floor they say don't have My room was very dark and window facing others room which is not comfortable to let it open the curtain very comfortable bed and Wi-Fiwork so well. shower room was fine My problem is the lights and feels no window. on the 2nd day i request to move my room to higher floor and more bright, they did I book for 3 days, so my next two days stayed was perfect. laundry service was very fast i gave the clothes in the morning, on second day was ready in my room walking to the market or unionsquare was only 10 minutes so many tourist destination can be reach from here and plenty highend shopping malls, hotels and restaurants nearby it's very convenient to stay here as long as you were comfortable with dimm light's I didn't take a pictures but videos you can watch my vidoes of Diva Hotel at YouTube

This hotel was THE ONLY one when booking our trip that was value for money, great location and with some style! Room was great! We didn't have a view BUT this was actually an advantage as the room stayed cool and was less noisy from the street! Bathroom was amazing for a standard room! Room cleaned everyday if needed! Staff are super friendly! We walked pretty much everywhere from hotel (or ubered when i heels haha) ... just one thing to note the breakfast is 'grab and go' style so is just coffee, fruit and pastries (good coffee tho) so dont expect to much with that! but still worth every penny!

Don't be misled by the 3 star status. This hotel is 5 star in everything that counts. We were treated as valued guests from the second we stepped over the threshold and greeted cheerily every time we went to the lobby. Our room was compact but very comfortable, exceptionally clean and furnished to a very high standard. Access from the airport is easy, just get the BART to Powell and it's no more than a five minute walk even with your suitcase. You are close to all the centre sights and it's a short walk to the Ferry Building and trams to Fishermans Wharf and Pier 39. And if that's not enough there is a complimentary glass of wine or beer between 5 and 6 each night. The only downside is there are currently noisy building works nearby but that should be short lived. Thoroughly recommended.

Stayed for 6 nights. Did not get housekeeping per our choice. All we needed was towel changes and trash. Room with two double beds was a decent size for 3 ladies. Room cleanliness was a bit lacking. Shower floor had black mold. Shower curtain also had mold which means it wasn't changed before we checked in. I work in the hotel business and would have expected better conditions from a name brand hotel, but cleanliness no matter star rating and brand name shouldn't change. I know this is a smaller property which maybe doesn't have a brand coming to inspect them every quarter, but there' s no way they didn't know shower had mold. Some tilex even would've helped. You can hear people yelling on the street at night and lots of road noise. Again, that was expected because of the location. I think the only thing that would have made the stay better is checking in to a cleaner room with more attention to detail.

I had a great time in SF. My weekend almost got ruined by another guest who stayed in a room adjacent to mine. This individual stole my wallet and caused a scene with his guests while I confronted him regarding the incident. I notified hotel staff who went above and beyond to help me. Long story short I was able to get my wallet with a few missing things but the most important items were still there. The security staff helped out and also the front desk personal. This incident could have changed how I felt about SF but it played out as best possible which I think it's because of the hotel and its staff. Unfortunately there are some individuals who choose to commit crimes while people are enjoying themselves. Overall I had a great time and would recommend the hotel.

The good: close walk (~1.5 miles) to either Fisherman's Warf or to Union Square which means easy access to entertainment such as Pier 39, Big Bus tours, Alcatraz, Chinatown, Coit Tower, Lombard Street, and the old time Trolley rides. Great food options in the area, especially along Polk Street, which the hotel is on the south end of. The room was unexpectedly VERY quiet despite the hustle of downtown traffic and activity. The bad: hotel's bed was cheap and squeaky, and the shower head produced a small, slow stream of water. So one less star rating on the facility. The ugly: not the hotel's issue, but it's in an area of town where there are lots of homeless and trash on the streets. With that said, the homeless folk never once bothered us or panhandled etc. And if you don't intend to walk 4-5 miles each day to visit the tourist sites, including hills, then you may want to stay closer to the pier.

My USA trip with my mom was the first one, and well expectedly we were looking for some more experience. I have spent many many days trying to choose which hotel we would stay in. Fooled by the address to be at Geary St, the location is not at all at Union Square, it is considered in Tenderloin area which the locals have been saying it is not in a safe area. Someone from TA did made this comment, one of them, i recalled. So there you go it is not in a safe environment. For a first time traveller, STAY AWAY !!! If you are looking for a budget, they have more selection down near Powell St i think. Another thing is, the hotel room looks sophisticated, but not at all it isn't !!! The floor was following the hills of SFO. You need to hike even in the room ? The bed was comfortable but, since the floor wasn't even, therefore i have to sleep in a horizontal way, and in a weird way totally not pleasant but the staff were all amazing anyways

This was my second time staying at Orchard Hotel, San Francisco. This hotel is located 5 blocks away from Powel Cable Car Turn Around, walking distance to any spot within downtown San Francisco. The hotel is not a big hotel, however, its quality is second to none. Big and super comfortable bed with big bathroom. The staff was very helpful with great service mind. I do recommend this hotel and personally will be back to stay here again.

I didn't know what to expect from the Marine Club. After stating there they exceeding my expectations. First the positives: friendly staff, free breakfast, free happy hour drinks, free laundry and wifi service . Free internet , in other words it's not a place that tries to nickel and dime you. Had a very comfortable room. Also had a temperature control a/c which was a nice feature. They also provide detergent if you want to do laundry... And it's free. No quarters for using machines. I also enjoyed the location. Right in the heart of union square. Walgreens, Starbucks, 7,11 about 100 steps from front of hotel. The fitness center is also free. It's actually a health club right next door to the hotel. Plenty of machines and weights for those into working out. Also easy to get to from San Fran airport. I took the Bart line to Powell street. Went right where the trolley line starts. Went up 5 blocks and sutter street is right there. I really can't find much in the way of negatives. The only one is being a military club I couldn't get the membership to the club membership. Also be advised proper attire to the restaurant. Made mistake of going to breakfast in workout attire. No big deal just went back and put on collared shirt and khaki shorts. Also can't wear hats to restaurant even for happy hour. No big deal . I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a hotel not a major chain. I would definitely stay again when visiting San Francisco.

This was my third time staying at this hotel and the quality has improved a great deal: they have replaced the ugly and uncomfortable nylon blankets with white cotton ones. The room is now also cleaner and the bathroom got new appliances. The rooms are very small if you book a single room, but the bathroom is comfortable enough. All in all, it is money well-spent, especially when it is right in safe Chinatown that turns quiet late at night for you to have a decent sleep. The only problem was I could never get on Wifi in my room. There is also a tv with CNN in the room which is important for you to catch up with the latest while not at home. I would stay there again, unless they raise the price.

when we first got to union square plaza, our first thought was that the room was incredibly small. the place is a bit dated, and it needs refurbishing, but we were on a budget and in the end, it sas worth what we paid for. hotels in union square area are really expensive, we're glad to have found a hotel conveniently located within our budget. internet was supposed to have charge, but since we stayed for three nights the front desk clerk gave us the password for free. since it's located at union square, there are a lot of restaurants nearby. we noticed there are a lot of people lining up at the japanese restaurant beside the hotel. all the time. we did noy get to try it though... despite the hotel being dated and it gave us the feeling that the hotel wasnt really clean, we got fresh linen daily and fresh towels, so it isn't so bad. we might stay again. not bad for travellers on a budget who wants just the basic room.

For San Francisco on a budget this was a great, convenient hotel to stay at - just down the road from Union Square & very handy to the cable cars (one of the stops is straight across the road). I do recommend to book in advance so that you get a cheaper deal & make sure you book a room with an ensuite. I had a Queen shared bathroom & while the amenities were clean, there were no mirrors in the room or in the bathroom (which was only a shower with a towel rack & wooden bathmat). In saying that the Staff were very friendly & helpful & I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to San Fran.

Great location, close to Union Square, groceries and shopping. Rooms feel newly renovated with sink, microwave and fridge in all of them. They have a drinking water machine in the lobby; you can refill your bottles, save some $$ and the inconvenience of hauling water gallons or bottles from the stores. Club floor has complimentary coffee, hot chocolate and tea most of the day. No issues with room cleanliness, they even did our dishes. Considering SF hotel prices, awesome value for the money (even more so if you need a room for 5 people, that most other hotels can't accomodate)!

Never knew there was a BW in downtown Union Square as we always booked a hotel just around the corner. Little did I know, they were one of the few hotels that offered King beds. Huge plus considering hotel rooms are quite small in SF. However the rooms at this BW were very roomy even with the King bed. Only drawback was the location of the bathroom sink and medicine cabinet above. I understand the objective is to maximize space by making it a corner sink, but the mirror/medicine cabinet was awkward especially when trying to brush my teeth or wash my face. I just needed to remind myself not to move my head up or else I would bump the back of my head everytime. Other than that, everything else in this hotel is great; from the staff to the rooms.

This is the best hotel in San Francisco. For sight seeing, it is in front of Union Square where pick up happens for all tours. The cable cars passes right by the front door. You can run to the wharf for 3k and back. It is just 10-12minutes walk to Moscone Convention Center. It is in the shopping district of San Francisco. You have the best choice of restaurants around. Most of all, it has best staff. At breakfast in the Oak Room, Uyen will keep your cup full and your toast to the T. The fruits were always fresh. The pastries and bread were delicious. The housekeeping staff was awesome. And John, at the bell service was so helpful with my huge bags. I had no trouble all the way. Andrea at the front desk was of great help in my booking. And I find the staff at the Fed-ex mail service really patient and of great assistance.Thank you. I had a great time in St Francis and at San Francisco. Is that the only elevator in the world that is like that?

Loved the location which is 2min to all public transportation! My daughter has a walkingI disability but was able to get everywhere. And when I asked for a chair to use in the shower (which was unavailable), Simone at front desk arranged for a change of room to the disable-friendly type which had a large entrance to manoeuvre her wheelchair. The room type was like a mini suite! We had by the next day unpacked so it was very thoughtful of her to give us a room on the same floor so moving was easy! The beds at the hotel was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on, comparable to the 5-star hotels. Although service at front desk was top notch, there was no service at concierge. When I asked for information about a place I wanted to visit, the guy at concierge looked disinterested and even raised his voice in annoyance when I didn't understand what he meant. Then he walked off! That was quite shocking! However, the pros outweigh the cons and I've already booked my next stay here.
