we stayed there 4 nights and were very impressed. the staff is extremly nice and helpful.we had the studio which is like a suite;has very nice furniture and warm colours.the shower is just wonderful ,lot,s of space and the water pressure is very good even at the 8th floor.the hotel has a nice pool area ,which allows you to swim laps.the gym has state of the art equipment and all is very clean.maybe the best thing about the hotel is their restaurant.we had plans to visit some restaurants in town ,but after the first meal we decided to eat there all the time.there hamburger like is fine dining,never ,ever did i have one like this.also all the other meals were of very high quality at a reasonable price.if i had to criticise one thing then it,s the carpet in the room. it does pick up moisture maybe from the ac and give off a bad odour.it did not bother me too much ,but affected my wife.but then again there were soo many good points which outweighs this minor problem. i am still convinced,that this is the best hotel in vietnam in my experience.i would highly recommend it.

Our stay was wonderful! This is a pricey 5 star hotel and one of the best in Hue, however we were able to get an amazingly cheap deal from Agoda, and stayed there for less than a fifth of the original price. The hotel itself is just amazing and from the second you arrive you feel like a VIP. The rooms are large, clean and decorated with beautiful wood carvings, and have great views of the city and the river. However, as it is a five star hotel, food and drink there was expensive so we went to nearby restaurants and street food venders to eat.

This place was hands down the best hotel we stayed at in all of Vietnam. The rooms were great, clean, large everything you need. Decent view from the balcony and all. Rates are extremely cheap considering what you get out of it. The breakfast was ample and had a large variety of foods. The absolute best part was the receptionists though, spoke great English, super helpful with anything you need. For example, we wanted to see the gym before booking there and they offered to let us use it before having we even booked in. Absolutely amazing experience

My first visit to Vietnam and Hue, I came here solo for a friends wedding. I booked this hotel through agoda the day before i arrived and stayed for 5 nights. The staff at the front desk spoke excellent english and were more then helpfull. The room was better then i expected for $48 aud that i paid a night. the room lardge with an excellent bathroom, the bed was soft and comfortable, air conditioner was quite and efficient, coffee and tea facility and mini bar. the buffett breakfast was extensive and delicious. my friends stayed at a 5 star hotle in hue and i think my room at the moonlight was every bit as good as there's for allot less money. The moonlight hotel is perfectly situated in the middle of town and the view from the roof top bar is probable the best in town. very impressed with this hotel. reccomended graham from australia

Again a glowing review. This is a new hotel and you get every new hotel benefit. We had a room which was practically perfect: huge, great balcony, great bathroom, modern interior. The pool here is surely the best for the hotel's luxury range and the very personal attention and service of Huong, marvellous. The breakfast buffet spread was serious and delicious, but the stars here are definitely the staff, who tripped over themselves trying to better accommodate us at every turn. EMM restaurant on the side of hotel is excellent , the service provided buy waiters was very professional , the chefs in the kitchen really know what there doing , great food. The management and staff were very nice and helpful, the hotel was clean and well maintained, the food was great and all round the experience in this hotel was far better than others on my trip. During our stay my wife got sick and one of the breakfast staff members called reception and within 30 minutes a doctor visit us,

We booked this hotel through agoda so we got it cheap. When we arrived outside we thought they'd taken us to the wrong hotel. It's big and grand. The room was incredible for what you're paying for. Lovely big bath, walk in shower, huge bed, tv etc. We had the best nights sleep in ages. The swimming pool is on the top floor next to the bar and there's a really good view over Hue. The breakfast had an amazing choice of food and the evening meal was the best meal we'd had in vietnam. We felt like we had a night in luxury for £20. This hotel has just opened so they're trying get as many people in so they write good reviews then they'll put their prices up so get in quick.

Location: in the middle of the city. It's very close to well-known local specialties such as 'Hanh restaurant' & 'Che hem', which are delicious, cheap & highly ranked on tripadvisor. Staffs: Very professional, friendly & helpful. The receptionist could answer pretty much everything I asked. They could handle sight seeing tours, bus to Da Nang and gave recommendation for places to eat too. Breakfast was great, typical buffet style, with both local & western food. The room was beautiful, the decoration was exceptionally great. I really liked the fusion of minimalistic modern style and traditional local style using bamboo. The jacuzzi & spa service were great too, according to my mom.

Absolutely recommending this hotel. The best hotel experience in Vietnam by far. Although it's just a 2 stars hotel, the service is way beyond that. My friend and I rented a motorcycle with the hotel, the bike was pretty new and excellent quality. If you have ever rented a bike here in Vietnam, you will know they don't always have a good quality. We strongly suggest you to book the room including breakfast. The breakfast is basically buffet style. (Both main course and salad bar). And the price difference between breakfast or not is USD 0.04 / room in my case. The staff in the reception was ridiculously professional, especially the girl named Mei Yuan. She provides personalized service, from you inquiry in email, sight-seeing recommendations, breakfast experience, laundry service and even walked us down to the door and said goodbye. I'm not so sure what else should I ask for?

This hotel is staffed by students of the Business of tourism. They work very hard to problem solve and make sure everyone is comfortable and taken care of. We were able to walk from our hotel and explore Hue however, this city is very spread out--having a bicycle or a motorcycle would have been easier. One suggestion to this hotel is to make bike rentals available through the hotel. Through the hotel we were able to book a private car for the next day which took us to see the tombs and temples south of the city. Their price were fair and our driver was very good. We paid through the hotel so there was no issue. We stayed in a different part of Hue the following night and they were able to accommodate that different drop off location. They had a swimming pool but unfortunately we didn't have time to use it. The room was really big for the two of us--we probably could have booked a smaller room. There was some cleanliness issues around the sides of the wall/floor but other than that it was fine. Breakfast was good with a wide range of fresh fruit. It was hot when we stayed so the welcome drink they provided was very much welcome!

We feel so lucky to have found this hotel. Perfect in every absolute way. Honestly I think this place should be considered 5 star. It was the best hotel we have stayed at after vacationing in Vietnam for 2 weeks. Great value for our money, we got a deal on agoda for ~45 per double room, but would have paid much more. We decided to stay one extra night because of how comfortable this place was. They have maid service twice daily in the rooms so you always have clean and dry towels and they set up your bed for the evening. The breakfast was amazing. The best part was the decor! - such a cute truly boutique style hotel. The staff were amazing and super friendly - always anticipating how to help make your stay more comfortable. They let you borrow ponchos and umbrella for rain. Everything in the room was new and worked perfectly - ac and heater would either cool or heat to desired temp in a matter of minutes. I wish every hotel was like this one! Having scarlet boutique withdrawals!

I have never in all my years of travelling experienced a better service and welcome than at the Orchid. Upon arrival we were met at the taxi and our bags we taken to reception, we were ushered to the breakfast room for a welcome fruit juice, fruit, biscuits and a cool towel. Thuy also gave us a map and a tour list with full details of where we were and where was good to eat. We were upgrade to the romance rooms on the top floor for our two night stay which was simply wonderful, we were treated like honeymooners with fruit one day, cake and flowers the next delivered in the evening turndown service. The romance suite was stunning, huge windows overlooking the city and river, a double jacuzzi bath tub, towel art on the bed each day. The room had a huge flat screen tv, DVD player and pc with its own router giving a strong wifi signal. The bed was made up with so many pillows it was a delight and a mattress topper made that bed so comfortable. I particularly liked the fact we had goldfish in our room. Every member of staff was exceptional, Thuy the receptionist was outstanding welcoming every guest by name! The hotel has a DVD library and book shelve and our chosen DVDs were delivered to our room. The service at this hotel is in line with what I would expect from a 5 star hotel, some worldwide hotel chains could learn a thing or two from the Orchid Even when we checked out a taxi was called, our bags carried and we were given a bottle of water and a wet towel for our journey. I would return to Hue just to stay at this hotel!

We had an amazing stay at this hotel, I was a little upset having to leave after staying an extra night already. We are backpackers who wanted a break and luxery was what we got here. The price on angoda very good for a 4 star hotel with breakfast included. Break feast has something for everyone and is displayed beautifully. We didn't book any tours with the hotel they were too expensive for us however we were not pressured which was great. They have a gym also with a\c TV limited working equipment but it was always quiet when I went. Staff were very friendly and helpful to us. I would recommend this hotel!!

Probably one of the best hotels in Hue. Also I enjoyed Hue city so much, that I prolonged my stay for another two nights at the same hotel. One of pleasant surprises was size of the room and bed - both were huge. Continental breakfast surprised even more - luckly I could choose something eatable as I was already too tired eating unknown origin meal on the streets. This hotel helped me to survive in Vietnam. After a long day walk in the city you can get a nice massage (and hear some "tip me, tip me, five dollars" from a massage lady), but that was worth it. However I accidentaly discovered a dark side as well. After outstanding massage I messed up with floor buttons in elevator and entered wrong room with the key of my room! After 10 second shock (where the hell are my suitcase, my clothes and why everything is so tidy in "my" room?) I realized what have I done. But that was really the only disapointment after all. Hotel staff was very helpful - they arranged bicycles for us and that was pretty much a good choice as we visited most of the sightseeing spots in Hue and surrounding areas Also this hotel is closest from all to the Citadel.

I can’t praise this hotel enough. For the price you pay I doubt you could find better room quality or service. Rooms were faultless and of a much higher standard than you’d expect from a 3-star hotel. Fantastic shower, air-con, wifi/computer, tv, safe, kettle, fridge, complimentary fruit and drinks. Breakfast was one of the best we had during our entire trip, plenty of choice and as much as you like. Hotel is within walking distance to the Perfume River, Citadel and a number of restaurants and cafes. The biggest selling point of this hotel is the staff. Everyone was very attentive, well-spoken and helped with absolutely any query we had. We were delayed in Hue during a typhoon and the staff were incredibly helpful; we were upgraded (due to rooms being available as other travellers had to cancel bookings due to weather) and helped us for hours trying to contact local airlines regarding our flight cancellation. This will be the first place I recommend to anyone travelling to Hue, no matter their budget.

It was supposed to have a gym in it, but did not, apparently it had just opened. We asked about it, and the manager called the sister hotel and we worked out there. Not the bst bu it got he job done.We were upgraded to a suite, and when we arrived, there was a huge plate of fruit waiting for us. The lobby was gorgeous, the staff were ever so friendly. Even though our room was not ready (“30 minutes sir”), they invited us to use the free computer terminals in the lobby, and gave us welcome drinks. Sure enough, less than 30 minutes later, we were up in our suite. Wifi worked decently, and the marble bathroom was great, along with a full cable TV line-up. Our favorite part about the hotel was likely the 11th floor restaurant. Our included breakfast was served there and included a wide variety of buffet hot and cold eastern dishes, an egg station, lots of fruit, cereal, bread (including gorgeous French breads), and salads/meats. The restaurant was open for lunch and dinner, and you could inside in the air-con (not available in most of the restaurants at street level), or outisde on the outside deck. The hotel also attracted some package tourists, which were always seated indoors, but also a large contingent of locals eating dinner. We saw that as a sign of success. Sure enough, we felt that the prices were “local,” and not overly expensive. Additionally, the prices also included VAT and service charges, so we paid about $12-16 USD there for outstanding meals - 2 drinks each (wine or mixers or beer), 3-4 entrees, and fruit for dessert. Service was impeccable (although we have learned that entrees and appetizers just come when they are ready), and was really friendly. Seriously the best stay we had in Vietnam!

Great hotel! If you want a hotel just for stay (no facilities like swimming pool, gym, etc), this is definitely the best choice! 1. Location is very good, closed to Pham Ngu Lao street (5 min walking) where there are many bars / pubs / restaurants. It is not difficult to find the hotel as well 2. It's clean as well. 3. Nothing to complain about the staff there just because I didn't have anything to contact them much. 4. Facilities: seems this hotel has just built recently. Everything is still new. Air condition is quiet (the fridge is a bit noise but I unplugged it) 5. Price: quite cheap. In conclusion, I'm satisfied with this and definitely come back if I have chance

Do not be put off that this hotel is down a small lane. It is quite simply the best little hotel we've stayed at in Vietnam over the last 2 years that we've lived here. The rooms are quite spacious and very clean, as was the bathroom, and most importantly the the beds comfortable. All the amenities worked, the wifi was fast and reliable. The pool, while small was very clean and so nice to cool off in after hot days on the tourist trails. The location was really convenient for sight seeing, restaurants and shopping. We hired push-bikes for less than $1.50per day while down the road we were quoted $2per hour. The sightseeing tour we booked was Ok, it was very hot though (obviously nobody fault, just made it not so enjoyable-hence the pool being a real bonus) however there was no pressure to book through the hotel we just did because the reception staff were so friendly and efficient. The reception staff at the hotel WERE THE BEST, the most friendly, the most efficient with the best sense of humour we've ever encountered in Vietnam. The reception staff make this hotel what it is and I hope the owner realises what gems he has working for him and what an asset they are to his business.

When we arrive at the Hotel the check-in went smoothly. The room are large, clean with a bathub/shower type. For the price we were very satisfied with the room. Breakfast was included and was ok, a major part of the food is not so warm in the buffet ( bacon, sausage etc.) so nothing fancy, but they do offer a egg station where you can get omelette and eggs made so for a free breakfast included with a room with the promotion by 2 nights get one free it was more than we expected. Night management was ok but we had lost the safe combination and nobody on the evening or night shift could help us and we had to go down to the counter to finally get some appropriate response. The day management is just fabulous and really courteous. Only bad side is any tour or services offered in or around the Hotel. We try to book a trip with the Hotel to go to the caves and their price were doubled than the one we found in town and the lady working at the tour desk really didn't know much about tours that was deceiving. We finally went to town and book the same tour in a travel agency for half price they were asking. The hotel rents moot-bikes but again the price asked for a day or half day was way more expensive than what we got in town and that was also deceiving. The hotel is close to center town, but other hotel are closer so you might want to get bicycles or motto-bikes to go around the city. Overall the hotel is cheap for what you get and its clean so I would recommend it but book your trips and transportation outside the Hotel in one of the agencies in the center town. As for Hue city it is nice but we had bad experience with the local population who won't help you with directions or will simply tell you to get lost if you try to ask. Its sad cause we had good experience in all other cities in Vietnam.

There is much to recommend this hotel: it is close to shopping and excellent dining; it has the best shower system this side of a five-star hotel; it is cosy and comfortable; and it's even safe to drink the tap water (maybe why the taps are kinda noisy). Overall, the staff members are friendly and helpful, but there's the rub: as a tourist you will be treated most civilly, but a star has been deducted from this review because such affability apparently does not extend to local tourists (my partner is Vietnamese, and while I was always well greeted she was lucky to get a forced smile, with a doorman being the glowing exception). All guests should be treated equally ... they all help pay staff members' wages. Such a shame to be let down by something that is really Hospitality 101.

Best accommodation I have experienced in my travels around Vietnam. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was any problem for them to assist. Whoever does their staff training should be congratulated on an excellent job. Other hotels should use her/him to train their stall in customer relations. Great attention to detail throughout the hotel. Cleanliness first class. All you can eat menu breakfast was great. It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel and I would highly recommend anyone who is staying in Hue to use this accommodation. 5 star service in a 3 star hotel. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL STAFF.

We booked this hotel for three nights and liked it so well we stayed another four nights to stay through my birthday. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The bed was so comfortable and the room was very clean. The free breakfast was also very nice although we really aren't big on breakfast. We have stayed at so many hotels in Asia and this was probably the best so far. I highly recommend it!

The Thanh Lich Hotel is a 3 star plus, with authentic staff and a positive room ambience to rest in! I had a massage in my room by a male masseur who did the deed with more than adequate skill -unfortunately the massage rooms were off putting with no apparent heating or cover sheets, with the 'table' being a raised single bed with one side against a wall -? Next door was a clean, curved-shaped swimming pool. Within walking distance to the Perfume River and the night market, weather permitting!; otherwise a concerted walk across the long bridges -the more western one takes you almost directly to the 'citadel' while the other to the "market". The prices for 'artefacts', nic nacs, Cds etc. from the 'citadel' souvenaire shop are not inflated. For art lovers, a visit to the Art Gallery Museum at 15 Le Roi, parallel to the river, is a must-see -mmmmmmmm! It's home to Le Ba Dang's work and provides a link to France, the 'American War' and the Viet Nam Liberation Front; furthermore, it gives perspective to the 'touristy' art shops. Within a one minute stroll to the Parkview Hotel restaurant/cafe for Viet Namese and Western fare, and; possibly a Starbucks almost across the road called the "Light Cafe"? After being spoilt by Hoi An, Hue was cool, cloudy and/or misty rain for two days which was somewhat 'grey and foreboding', contrary to other tourist reports. Michael Ocean Hoi An/New Zealand

The staff at the Four Seasons Hué really are the best we have encountered anywhere, ever. Every time you enter the hotel (or even step out of your bedroom) anyone who is working will rush to greet you as if they've been waiting just for you to arrive! Cold towels and fresh, cold juice when you come back from a day trip and the staff asking all about your day; free breakfast where they encourage you to eat more more more even though you're not paying for it! In terms of service, it really is five star and then some. The rooms are clean and comfy, the bathroom is fine although a strange set-up for westerners with the toilet facing the shower and not much room in-between (there is a shower curtain though). Good location as well for checking out the main sites in Hué, and take the staffs advice on booking day trips and taxis, they're really helpful. Thank you to all for our amazing time in Hué!!!

Don't judge it by its unassuming facade, and the photos really don't do it justice. The well-appointed rooms are clean & comfortable, the wifi is good, the air-conditioning is cold and the water is strong & hot. We almost didn't book this hotel as it mentions 'shared bathroom' on the description of the rooms. Actually every room comes with an ensuite bathroom. The location is great - some of the best restaurants, cafes and pubs in Hue are just around the corner, yet the hotel is quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended!

Location is perfect. Price is perfect. Breakfast is perfect. Room is perfect. The staff are the best. I have check-out and the bus will only come at 4.30pm to pick me up to Hanoi. It was raining and I was waiting at the lobby. The lady allowed me to go back to the room to rest and gave me a towel for shower. The other staff are also very approachable although they do not speak English well. I felt welcome.
