Let me start off with a positive: I got the best massage ever by a charming young lady named Thet Mar Tun of the Zen Foot Spa located on the first floor. The Parkroyal is a nice and clean four-star, Western-quality hotel in the heart of Yangon. It's conveniently located near the Sule Pagoda (walking distance) and a 1 or 2 kyat taxi ride to the incredible Schwedegon Pagoda (which is not to be missed). Service was uniformly friendly, though I had to ask the front desk three times to get a joiner issue resolved (after firmly standing my ground). The concierge sent me in the wrong direction to the Schwedegon Pagoda. Not good. And unless you're a single man looking for "action" beware of the Music Club in the basement. It's teeming with agressive working girls and drinks are overpriced. The DJ is friendly, though, and the tunes are good -- if you can bear the constant offering of services.

Location is good, able to travel by Grab car in 15-30mins for tourist spots such as Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda, 10 min walk to Junction City Shopping Mall, the hotel provided breakfast however kinda disappointed of the buffet style cox limited set per pax, kinda money minded. The hotel offered complimentary for 2 glasses of champagne for our honeymoon, cleaning service team member decorated a lovely swans on our 2nd day upon he found out that we were there for honeymoon trip. Bravo to the guy! 5 stars for the staff because of the cleaning team, hopefully the management will appreciate their meticulous attentive working attitude. They shall be rewarded. Overall, the hotel is good.

The hotel is located very close to the gorgeous Shwe Dagon Pagoda (15 minutes walk to the South Gate), Maha Wijaya Pagoda (15 minutes walk) and the National Museum (10 minutes walk), The rooms are reasonably priced and clean and comfortable. The staff are courteous and efficient. Overall, an excellent value for money hotel. The gym and swimming pool are reasonably equipped, even though a number of tread mills seemed broken. The restaurant serves a good variety of food, both buffet and a la carte. The pub staff is friendly but the resident bands are terrible. It is quite close to The Pioneer Club - a modern discotheque renowned for its exotic nightlife (Go only after 10 pm).

To start with, this hotel is just a 20-30 min walk from Shwedagon Pagoda, and infront of Central Women Hospital. Area was quite and clean unlike other busy and noisy areas in yangon. There is a seafood restaurant nearby, and some western cuisine if you walk 200-300m further ( on the direction to pagoda). Staffs are nice and kind., and the rooms are extra clean and kept with same standard as 4-star quality, and does the bathroom too.There are some complimentary eateries like noodles and chips other than water bottles. and the bed and sleep was excellent. TV has most of the best channels to surf, including LIVE Football Worldcup ( Thats a PLUS !!) There is a free shuttle from hotel to major tourist attraction like Shwedagon Pagoda and Bogyoke Market on daily basis, you can check the timing in front desk, though you may need to register day before The restaurant in the second floor is not so pricey compared to the restaurant out, but if you gonna order something, make sure you have ordered something Asian Cuisine, I had bad experience by ordering Western ( burger and pizza ) and mushroom soup which is totally and unbelievably sucks. Though breakfast was exquisite, with lots of choices and varieties. And the staffs will make sure you had everything you need right at your table. There are pool table near-room next to restaurant, for hotel guests too. Though didnt get a chance to try, as it was crowded on night time. Plus sauna is free for hotel guests. And the rest is best compared to some of the other hotel i stayed in yangon, especially value for money ( below $100 ) hotel with such luxurious service. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who s looking for little extra pampering Rooms on high floor with Shwedagon Pagoda View will be greater, but costlier i guess.

So I normally stay in the large chain hotels due to points and frequent stay status. This hotel has me rethinking that philosophy. The staff was fantastic, better than many of the 5 star hotels I have been in. The location was perfect for exploring the city as a traveler. The room was great, especially the in room coffee maker, I am already thinking of buying one for my home. The breakfast is a menu of made to order that is very good (but not all you can eat for those who want that). The food in the lounge/restaurant (also where breakfast is served) is really good and some of the best we had during our days in Yangon (good quality and mid-range on price). Staff was more than happy to arrange some tickets for us and talk over sight seeing plans as we don’t like tours. Although I can’t say enough good about our stay there are a few spots to improve. USB or power plug ins are needed on both sides of bed (2 people usually have at least 1 or more devices each that need charging). In our room we had to unplug the lights from underneath the bedside stand to use the plug in for devices - a simple powered USB hub on each side would be perfect and would eliminate the need for travel power adapters. The shower needed strategic bath mat arrangement to direct water to the non-shower drain (I live in Asia and this seems to be a common issue in even some 5 star hotels). Lastly, it was listed as exercise facilities but did not indicate that it was off-site about 4 min walk away (minor but should be noted, gym was fantastic though) All of these are minor issues but should be noted. In the end, I highly recommend the hotel - you can’t beat the combination of quality of stay, location and staff.

I highly recommend this hotel. Its near the Scott Market. You can walk by feet to Downtown. The Schwedagon Pagoda is not far away. Nice Restaurants are nearby. Breakfast is one of the best I had in Myanmar. Several kinds of fresh fruits, Pancakes, Mohinga - great Variation for every taste. The staff is super kind and helpful, always attentive and patient. And the rooms are spacious, well furnished, quiet, with windows you can open to breath fresh air. When you are in your room you cant imagine that you are in the middle of downtown because ist so quiet. I really love this place and will always return for a stay.

I had an excellent experience at Alfa Hotel in Yangon. Though basic, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, with all necessary amenities, including in-room wifi. The staff at Alfa Hotel go above and beyond to make your stay perfect, from the management who were responsive to all of my e-mails prior to arrival, to the front desk staff who not only give you directions or call you a cab but are happy to give you restaurant recommendations, "insider tips" to the city, or how to tie a longyi. They also helped me to arrange a side trip to Kyaiktiyo Pagoda and Bago. Their rooftop bar is the perfect place to have a beer (or dinner) while watching the sun set behind Shwedagon Pagoda. Overall a very wonderful experience. I cannot praise Alfa Hotel highly enough.

I have to thank the staff at Diamond Crown for their 5-star service at a budget hotel. Really incredibly helpful and friendly with great English skills. Always smiling, always going out of their way. At check-out, a member of housekeeping noticed that I left shirts in the closet and rather than just pointing it out, he took the shirts out and carefully folded them for me. I have never had such good service at much more expensive hotels.

This is s pretty soulless hotel. Vast reception area, but little interaction with staff. Apart from a breakfast room it appears not to have a restaurant. I choose the hotel for its closeness to the Shwedagan pagoda (10 minutes walk) as I wished to get to the Pagoda before dawn and again before sunset. Importantly it has a large parking area and easy access for cars. Bed very comfortable and ample breakfast. Also tea/coffee in room and importantly air conditioning. Wifi was variable but one could get close to a router for better reception. Given the size of rooms it is probably reasonable value, but a tad expensive for Burma.
