"It is newly developed hotel in Yangon, located next to the Inyar lake , the biggest lake of the Yangon. The view of Inyar lake from the hotel room is panoramic. Since this is new development, the facilities, indoor and outdoor pool, steam, sauna, gym hot and cold tub, are unused and clean. The café at lobby offers another way to enjoy staying there. And the price is considerable cheap for 5 stars hotel. "

"This is a relatively new place which means cleans which means I loved it. They had a specialty cocktail. I think its an orange mojito. It was AMAZING. The breakfast buffet wasnt elaborate but what they did have was quality. The hotel is easy to find but not too close to any shops or markets. Its stands out from the other places in Yangon b/c of its sleek modern design. I was impressed. I did have one thing that really bugged me and that was the knowledge of some of the staff about the hotel. I asked the night staff how much an international call would be and they told me hotel doesnt offer that and that Id have to buy a sim. and when I asked where I could stock up on water they said its about a 20min walk away. But the next day the daytime staff told me none of that was true. That makes me doubt the validity of information given to me by diffent staff. "

"After receiving a discount on the room rate through my rewards points, our room rate ended up being very reasonable, but even the standard rate is much lower than I was expecting for Yangon hotels. Having said that, maybe rates have finally started to fall as there is more competition and my stay having been during the low season, it's not like there were too many tourists and business travellers competing for rooms, unlike during the 2012-13 tourist rush to the country. Anyway, the room was fine, with a nice balcony but as the hotel was built in the 80s and not upgraded much since, a few minor things are showing their age, such as the toilet not flushing properly and the carpets and other furnishings being quite old. However, a new lift is currently under construction, which will replace the old one. The buffet breakfast, full of western, Indian and Chinese/Burmese style options was outstanding, far better than any buffet anywhere else in Myanmar. This is the standard for hotel breakfasts, with a cheese board and selected cold meats, corn flakes and even Swiss style muesli, seasonal tropical fruit, salads, bread, noodles, Burmese style breakfast soup (Mohinga), Indian flat breads with pea curry and many other options, just superb. The pool was nice and inviting and we had a quick swim before breakfast. The surrounding gardens and view onto Inya Lake also quite stunning. Service was fast and professional and was in line with expectations from a hotel of this calibre. Apart from some renovations needed to modernize the standard of the corridors and the rooms, the hotel is more of a 4.5 star standard than merely 4 star and definitely one of the top 10 hotels in the city. "

"My wife and I stayed recently at Mercure Yangon Kaba Aye with our two grown up daughters and a nephew. We stayed in a two bed room apartment and a deluxe room for my nephew. We enjoyed our stay at Mercure Yangon Kaba Aye very much, the accommodation was very comfortable with large rooms and moving areas, very clean and comfortable bath rooms, large comfortable beds and sofas, dining table and chairs. The breakfast was very good with a good variety of Asian and western foods, cakes, fruits and beverages. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made us to feel at home. The swimming pool was bit cold and the gym was great. The airport pick up and transport back to the airport were perfect. Overall it is a great value for the money and we will choose this facility for any any future visits to Myanmar."

"This is a nice, clean, comfortable place not very close to any major attractions. We picked it as the staging point for our country departure because of the reasonable Agoda price and a location in the north part of town, to avoid excessive traffic when going to the airport. Actually the neighborhoods behind the hotel are quite interesting to see the very simple life of many poorer Yangon residents. A station on the aged circular commuter railway is also nearby, providing a cheap but slow way to get downtown. There are many restaurants around the hotel, but most are of the street food variety oriented towards the locals (no English menus or signs). The hotel restaurant does serve lunch and dinner, with room service being an option. The breakfast buffet is good, and custom eggs are an option. Helpful staff with good English. A good comfortable value with the Agoda discount."
