We had half day in Yangon before flying away home and chosed this hotel because it is just a few minutes away from Shwedagon Pagoda. The hotel was up to our expectations- clean and modern, very nice personnel, good room. The staff ordered us airport transfer and prepared boxed breakfast as we leaved early. There are also some parks around, walking distance from hotel. If you want to visit Sule Pagoda or Scott market, you will need a taxi.

This new clean hotel with welcoming staff was an oasis for us from the heat of Yangon. It's located within walking distance to Shwedagon Pagoda and local markets. There's a bank and good restaurants near by. Breakfast was simple and eggs were prepared as we asked them to be ( this kitchen was one of the few to understand that I wanted an omelette made only from egg whites). Staff couldn't do more to be helpful, friendly and respectful throughout our stay. The only drawback was the room had only hooks on the wall to hang clothing- no closet nor armoire! That said, we booked Merchant Hotel for our return to Yangon in March.

A brand new hotel in a good location, hidden away from street traffic. Somewhat difficult to find, but the kind manager and personnel try every thing to help you and fulfill your wishes. Of course, a 3 star cannot be the best in the world, but may be the best of this kind for now in Yangon. Very quiet surrounding, but 2 minutes to transport (taxi) and 7 mins. to great supermarket. Absolutely recommendable - and I know hundreds of hotels around the world.

Their breakfast was good, and room service food was good as well. It’s expensive compared to local cafes but quite good quantity and taste good, so satisfying. But they mistook our orders a few times and didn’t have change often. So we had to ask them to return our change next morning. The location of the hotel is also nice, walking distance to Myanmar Plaza and a few bus stops to Hledan Market. And it’s located to the end of street, it is quiet mostly. Unfortunately we stayed around New Year Day so only on the New Year’s Eve was so noisy because of neighbors party. And they gave us fine wine on Christmas and that turned to nice introduction to Myanmar wine which we didn’t expect that tasty! We liked the wine very much so we bought one more bottle by ourselves. we advise you to ask hotel staff how to use shower, otherwise you might get burned. And one more mystery about hotel was, we didn’t have a bath mat for first few nights, but suddenly it was placed one day. But the bath mat was dirty with dust and hair, and placed in front of bathtub. We didn’t use it but next day again another dirty bath mat was placed. We didn’t complain about it as we felt it might have been their best. We were puzzled but enjoyed such cultural differences. And the cleaning itself was good, they did great job on house keeping. There were some “mysterious” things, but after all we just enjoyed the stay at this hotel and liked all the staffs. We will book this hotel again if we have an opportunity to come back to Myanmar.

A good, clean hotel, newly built, and although not in the city centre, taxis are cheap enough to make this a cheaper option than many more expensive hotels. Taxi cost from the airport: 7000 kyat, taxi to city centre (Bogyoke Market): 2000 kyat, Taukkyan War Cemetery: 10,000 kyat. Hotels are expensive here and this was a reasonable option - but expensive in comparison to other SE Asian countries. There is a restaurant downstairs and breakfast was okay if you're not too fussy. Lots of choice but remember this isn't a western hotel! We ate later in the morning and food was not as hot as it could be. Staff are friendly and helped with getting taxis, advising on prices, etc. Myanmar's first Starbucks opened just 5 minutes walk away, right next to the upmarket Chatrium Hotel. Also walking distance to Kandawgyi Lake. We had several powercuts every day but that's apparently to be expected wherever you stay. The hotel emergency generator kicked in within minutes every time.

Stayed in superior room without pagoda view (my parents had room with pagoda view which was nice at night, but you get a better view from restaurant) as was busy attending to business and not in room most times anyway. Cheap rates (by comparison with other 3 star hotels in Yangon) but fantastic staff and service comparable to five star hotels I've stayed in in big cities. Limited parking but doorman ensured a space for my friend when she came to pick me up everyday and would stop traffic to ensure she could park or drive out safely. Very convenient location ( my parents who stayed same time as me would walk out early morning to the lake and pagodas). Quiet and safe too. Good breakfast and v clean room. Cheap convenient laundry service. Cant think of anything to grumble about!

The location is fantastic, you walk out the driveway and straight into a local market, before you know it you're at shweddagon Pagoda. Later in the evening the market fills up with local food vendors and just a couple of buildings down from the hotel is a small convenience store that sells cheap beer. Unless you bump into other guests entering or leaving the hotel you probably won't see any other tourists. Our favourite spot was to take a couple of beers up to the rooftop and watch the sunset behind the Pagoda. I reckon it's got to be the best view in Yangon and we spent every sunset up there with our cameras before heading out for the night. It's about a 30 minute walk to the bogyoke markets. You can't fault the staff, they were very helpful and friendly and gave us great advice as well as helping us book internal flights.

Hotel M is a charming hotel in a nice quiet residential area with a boutique hotel feel to it. The room was beautifully furnished and the hotel feels like home away from home. The staff are very attentive and friendly. We used the inexpensive taxis and Grab to get around the city. The staff at Hotel M would call taxis for us which we found to be very convenient. Our stay was during the low season and the hotel management kindly upgraded us to a larger room. We had an issue with the air conditioning which the hotel addressed but wasn’t fully resolved. If we had stayed another night, I’m sure the hotel would’ve provided us with another room. Last but not in the least, the breakfast was excellent.

Hotel Shwe Yee is actually located in a compound nearest to Market Place Dhamazedi Road. Opposite the place there is Thai Plus Cuisine which offers a variety of dishes. I was first designated to a corner room on second floor. Then rain dripping through the leak of window frame. When noted to staff, they immediately attended to the issue and instantly requested me to move to other room. It was an impressive

My group of 4 recently stayed there. I read mostly positive review from travellers and decide to book this hotel. We were very impressed because our romm is very clean and good location. Hotel is very good valued for money. Breakfast buffet is the hightlight. There are a variety of menu both western style and local style for 2 stars hotel which is more than I expected. Our room is very clean and convenient location. Saff are friendly and helpful. Wifi network is good. The hotel are not far from tourist attraction too.

Was looking for a 3 Star and found this appropriate hotel. There were no disappointment at all. Staffs were completely attentive. Had a amazing view of glistening Pagoda. Breakfast every morning was decent and provided a good choice of quality food served at Crystal Jade ballroom. Had a chance to enjoy the amazing view of glistening Pagoda. Rooms were fairly sized and spotlessly clean. - A satisfying 3 star after all.

I've gotten a special cut off price which made me feel like i got a free wonderful room. It's a spacious room with lots of trees behind the property. Can you imagine that how it is like when you stay at a hotel that you can hear flock of birds sing and chat. After raining you hear family of frogs played orchestra. Despite it doesn't offer decent breakfast and i had to go outside eating. The rest of those are wonderful for the amount of money charged to my card.

This small 40 room hotel is a 5 minute walk from the biggest pagoda in Myanmar. The rooftop view is spectacular. The owners are family and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food from their kitchen was some of the best I had eaten, even after doing 2 food tours. The location is an hour walk from downtown, but taxis are so cheap, you can get one for about 2 bucks, so it did not matter to me. I preferred the quiet area with the amazing view. The owners were there everyday and made themselves available at all times. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay there. Wish I had more time! Value for money, you cannot go wrong. The breakfast buffet was fresh and changed daily. It really is a great place to stay in Yangon

Hotel is well located and very quiet during day and night. Room's size is reasonable and it comes with hot/cold water and air-conditioned. Being within the vicinity of shopping malls and street markets there is much saving of travelling costs. Mode of travelling for us is mainly by Taxi. Rates very cheap - ranging from 1,500 Kyat to 5,500 Kyat that is about S$2.00 to S$7.35.

Room is neat, clean and good size. Mini fridge is a nice touch and you can purchase beer and drink from downstairs to keep inside your room. Depending on which side of the hotel your room is on you'll have a view of the Shwedagon pagoda, also it can be seen from the window near the elevator. Breakfast is buffet style with nice food and attentive staff. We stayed here 3 times and won't try another hotel in Yangon.

i stayed at hotel phosein from oct4th-6th,2012. as i was travelling alone so i wanted to save money by staying at a small hotel like hotel phosien. as there are not many choices in yangon and most hotels are expensive.i was happy with this hotel so much. it is small and quiet. room is new and good enough.it is 2 stars hotel but i gave 4 stars. the location is good if you want somewhere more quiet. but if you want somewhere near downtown or market area,it is alittle bit far.the staff are friendly. i felt safe staying in this hotel as i travelled alone. i will stay here again for my next visit.

Their service is good. No matter is the check-in receptionist or the bellboy or the staff over there. I think they all are very helpful and try their best to help out whenever we have doubts. Their breakfast is not too bad but can be better and for their location. I think to me is very convenience and walking distance to various shopping areas so all is wonderful. I will definitely book into this hotel again when i visit next time. They are simply amazing.
