my friend and i was on a backpacking tour, and entered the lobby of this hotel expecting much less than what we found. this is a hotel that offers you anything you can dream of. the breakfast is of the best in the world, the business centre is helpful, although a bit costy when helping with printing of documents. the room we had was large with a great view. the spa and swimming pool was perfect. they even have a finnish sauna and a steam bath with gorgeous eucalyptus, just like in the old roman empire. the staff is helpful and very friendly (like most people of myanmar) and we felt that this hotel was good value for money.the draw back of this hotel is that, for people like us who want to chat with other travellers in the lobby, drink a beer with some foreigners, this hotel offers nothing of this. we were both 43 years when visiting yangon, and we felt young. the other people in the hotel were mostly (seemingly) retired people. nothing wrong with them, but still a little mismatch. the other clientel is mostly rich and posh people, on business trip.

The hotel is located in a central location in Yangon. It is within 15 minutes walk of the Sule Pagoda where a lot of action takes place. We booked the Greater Room and we were not disappointed. The room had plenty of space for two people. The shower, toilet and wash areas were separate from each other, which allowed for simultaneous use. But the best part of our stay was the hip room design. All design details were thoroughly thought of, from the room layout to the printed information cards. The lobby boasted a nice front desk and waiting area, with a good restaurant and bar offering affordable draft beer and cocktails. There were a lot of foreigners and locals hanging around during our visit. It seemed that the restaurant and bar attracted both foreigners and locals as one of Yangon’s hip watering holes. The gym on the 2/F was probably one of the nicest in Yangon. It was a members-only gym that boasted a huge space with several equipment and free weights. Hotel guests were grante

Enjoyed the meals taken at night they were reasonably priced and the set Chinese Meal I would definitely recommend. The Chefs maintained a constant visual presence, especially when their International Buffet was served at week ends, and also during Breakfast. The room was very comfortable, and rooms could be requested facing the famous Sharaweddogon Pagoda. A sunset can be enjoyed on the rooftop where there is a bar. Mosquitos did not appear to be a problem in the vicinity. Taxi to the center of Yangon was 2,000chat, although I found that I kept being asked for more at times and had to negotiate. Taxi to the Airport if ordered from the Bellboy is also considerably cheaper than booking through the Hotels Reception. Praise must be given to the Travel Agent, which is situated amongst the shops in the Hotel for his friendliness and his rate of exchange. Upon leaving Yangon and exploring the country, the rate given is considerably less, it is best to stock in piles of Chat, to take with you. The Travel Agent will change these back into dollars if not used. American Dollars are the only accepted currency, crisp and new ones. There are no A.T.M s inBurma!Credit Cards are also not accepted. All in all a pleasant stay and I was sorry to leave after visiting the excellent Swimming Pool situated at the rear of the Hotel

This hotel is quite nice for business trip use. I stayed at here more than 20 days. However, I did not find serious issues here. - The location seems good because when you visit any other places in downtown area, you do not need to be captured by the terrible traffic jams in Yangon comparatively. - Employees are friendly and kind. Door boys always help foreigners by negotiating taxi driver with fee reduction. - Facilities including guest rooms are almost new, quality and well cleaned. We can use bath-tubs filled with hot water with shower-curtain. So you do not need to worry about scattered waters in the bathroom like other typical Asian hotels. - Gym has basic facilities including variety of weight dumbbells. I hope this gym will have bench press bars, weights and stand. - We can reach to very famous temple "Shwedagon Pagoda" within 30 minutes on foot. You can reach there within 5 minutes by taxi. I think it's value for money! I hope you can enjoy staying.

So I normally stay in the large chain hotels due to points and frequent stay status. This hotel has me rethinking that philosophy. The staff was fantastic, better than many of the 5 star hotels I have been in. The location was perfect for exploring the city as a traveler. The room was great, especially the in room coffee maker, I am already thinking of buying one for my home. The breakfast is a menu of made to order that is very good (but not all you can eat for those who want that). The food in the lounge/restaurant (also where breakfast is served) is really good and some of the best we had during our days in Yangon (good quality and mid-range on price). Staff was more than happy to arrange some tickets for us and talk over sight seeing plans as we don’t like tours. Although I can’t say enough good about our stay there are a few spots to improve. USB or power plug ins are needed on both sides of bed (2 people usually have at least 1 or more devices each that need charging). In our room we had to unplug the lights from underneath the bedside stand to use the plug in for devices - a simple powered USB hub on each side would be perfect and would eliminate the need for travel power adapters. The shower needed strategic bath mat arrangement to direct water to the non-shower drain (I live in Asia and this seems to be a common issue in even some 5 star hotels). Lastly, it was listed as exercise facilities but did not indicate that it was off-site about 4 min walk away (minor but should be noted, gym was fantastic though) All of these are minor issues but should be noted. In the end, I highly recommend the hotel - you can’t beat the combination of quality of stay, location and staff.

I highly recommend this hotel. Its near the Scott Market. You can walk by feet to Downtown. The Schwedagon Pagoda is not far away. Nice Restaurants are nearby. Breakfast is one of the best I had in Myanmar. Several kinds of fresh fruits, Pancakes, Mohinga - great Variation for every taste. The staff is super kind and helpful, always attentive and patient. And the rooms are spacious, well furnished, quiet, with windows you can open to breath fresh air. When you are in your room you cant imagine that you are in the middle of downtown because ist so quiet. I really love this place and will always return for a stay.

We stayed twice in this hotel either side of an off-road trip. The first room had an air-conditioner which occasionally threw a tantrum and made loud banging noises, but the second room was fine - just unlucky the first time. The included buffet breakfast didn't have a huge choice, but featured 4 different types of items to suit Eastern and Western tastes so there was something for everyone, and it included my favourites so I was happy. Wifi was good most of the time with about 6 networks to try. No safe in the room. The staff were always friendly and helpful, but sometimes inefficient, booking the wrong night when I wanted to book an extra night for later in my trip, giving a poor rate of foreign exchange, and telling me I could leave luggage in storage then at the last minute saying I couldn't (connected with booking the wrong extra night). The room features were excellent, comfortable bed, fridge, modern bathroom, toiletries, except the design of the bath/shower meant water dripped onto the floor during a shower. Location was good, could walk to the city centre and Bogyoke Market, and the street at the front featured lots of pavement sellers with interesting foodstuffs.

I have to thank the staff at Diamond Crown for their 5-star service at a budget hotel. Really incredibly helpful and friendly with great English skills. Always smiling, always going out of their way. At check-out, a member of housekeeping noticed that I left shirts in the closet and rather than just pointing it out, he took the shirts out and carefully folded them for me. I have never had such good service at much more expensive hotels.

I booked this hotel because of its proximity to the Thai Embassy. The Yangon International needs lots of repair--- In may ways it is crumbling. When it was new, it must have been the "talk of the town!" But it is still charming. It is a bizarre blend of various decors including turn-of-the century Parisian Art Nouveau, which dominates the facility. Prints by Mucha are everywhere. This theme seems out-of-place for SE Asia, but it is fun! The funky rooftop bar has an excellent view of the city. The hotel is right across the street from the lovely "Peoples' Park," and is walking distance to Shwedagon Pagoda, the Myanmar National Museum, as well as Ocean Supercenter. Though the Yangon International is far from being luxurious, it is clean, the staff are friendly, and it offers an eccentric, unique hotel experience. If you are looking for something offbeat, this is the place!
