"The area is not for the timid. Just a few steps away from the 16th St BART station, you will walk through the darker side of humanity to get to this hotel. It is a clean, basic 2 star hotel. I’ve seen other reviews and quite frankly, if you go for the cheapest rate and expect 5 star accommodations your are going to be sorely disappointed. This is a 2 star, be prepared. I had a tiny room with a bed, nightstand, tv, and sink. Bathroom and shower down the hall. You get what you pay for here. They also rent by the month. All of that being said, I had no problem staying there. The area is where all of the homeless have been pushed to and it shows. One block over though and you have a completely different vibe with a vibrant night life. I was just there for one night to see a show at The Chapel which was only a 5 minute walk away. I probably wouldn’t stay here again for more than a night. But if you need something cheapish and clean in the Mission, this is it. "

"Easy self check in. At this time we didnt see many other guests which surprised because it was pride weekend. So the bathrooms and showers were always free. My boyfriend enjoyed the free coffee and at night we enjoyed herbal tea. Room 301 faces the street, but as someone who has stayed in SF many times this room wasnt more or less noisy than any other hotel/hostel room that is close to anything. There is so much to do in the mission now that you can come up for the weekend and not need to leave the neighborhood. We parked on mission between 19th and 20th which was cheaper. Manager was super nice and if i needed him be was just a call pr text away. Great hostel! "
