"Just realised I hadn't reviewed this hotel from November last year. It was fantastic. The rooms were relatively new and clean, staff friendly and vibrant. Not food on the premises, but this didn't matter. Allowed to bring in your own and own booze too. The best location ever, only one block from Pier , restaurants, shops, transport you name it. We had an early morning wake up with a car horn, I rang to check if we should be evacuating, not complaining, next minute we have free breakfast next door. Yummo. The price was great at the time as they were coming out of renovations and looking for bookings. Hence, my title. But if you can afford the $$$, then stay here for the location. Photos show exactly how good this place it."

Clean rooms, very comfortable bed, decent size bathrooms although rooms were a little smaller 4. Good TV and Wifi access was quite good as well Cons 1. It is an low/mid budget hotel - not a 4/5 star hotel 2. Apart from bed (New and comfortable), carpets/chairs/table in the room were quite old."

"I stayed at mini/junior suite and it was superb choice - my room was big and very clean & comfortable. It had a basic kitchen facilities (fridge, microwave, sink, coffee & tea maker), iron & ironing board, large enough security box (it fits 13 in laptop). Wifi is free and is very stable and fast - one of the best I have ever used at any hotel. Breakfast was good, but could be better - mostly sweet stuff, disposable cutlery, juices, bread, pancakes, yoghurts, bananas, apples (I missed vegetables, ham etc.). Location is perfect - lot of restaurants nearby, cable-car & tram stop, few minutes from Pier 39. My overall experience is very good and recommend to anyone."

"No hotel in San Francisco is cheap. Especially one so close to tourist areas like this one is. They will all try to nickel and dime you, charging US$5 for a bottle of water, and this place is no exception. So I certainly can’t say that this place was a good value... especially after paying almost US$70 to park overnight. Besides the typical San Francisco exorbitance, the hotel was great. Comfortable, good staff, and it’s location so close to fisherman’s wharf was perfect... As long as you’re willing to pay typical San Fran prices, than this place is a great choice. For the more budget conscious, you might want to try across the street at the Holiday Inn."

"We stayed in a suite which was huge and very comfortable. Big bathroom, comfy bed, good minibar. Great food at the restaurant downstairs and very friendly staff, especially Derek, the concierge. First we wanted to stay at a hotel around Union Square and then changed to Argonaut Hotel. Best decision !! The location is 5 *."

"The hotel is very new. It's clean and basic amenities in the room are available. The staff were all helpful and friendly, attends to your requests very effectively. Since it's still a new hotel, some services may not be available yet, for example, there's no vending machine in the hotel so make sure to buy your snacks before hand, breakfast is also not yet available as their pantry is still work in progress. There's a complementary coffee and tea in the morning at the lobby, but in my 2-days stay, they are all gone by the time I wake up(around 9am). The location is very good that your a few walks away to good restaurants and coffee shops. It's like 3 minutes away from the Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39, a few minutes walk to Lombard Street (very steep uphill walk), Cable Car station and to the Ghirardelli Square. Overall experience is very good. I would recommend this hotel if you're planning to stay near the bay area. It's a more relaxed area compared to Downtown SFO. "
