We stayed here for two nights after the long flights from the UK as it was close to the airport (10/15 mins) and we just needed somewhere to recharge our batteries before touring Myanmar. The hotel is a stunning new building (opened Sept last year) offering a true 5* experience set alongside the lake with glorious views towards Yangon. It has everything you’d wish from a luxury hotel and everything is brand new - with the rooms still sparkling new, giving the feeling as if they’ve not been used before! Superb staff, a wonderful swimming pool, great food - just could not be better. The executive floor offering well worth it - the free food on offer simple scrumptious and plentiful. Highly recommended hotel just outside Yangon.

Loved our stay at the Melia Yangon, hotel entry was so grand and beautiful centre piece hanging from the ceiling, staff very professional and polite, our room on the 22d floor was very spacious with beautiful windows and views, bed was massive and very comfortable, breakfast was amazing with so many choices of tasty food. Hotel is across the road from Inya Lake where you can have morning and evening walks, next door to the hotel is the Myanmar Plaza shopping centre, with a food court/restaurants on the top floor. Distance to the city centre depends on the traffic but it's not that far. Would definitely stay at the Melia Yangon again.

The Premier room is almost same price like other hotels standard room. Internet is fast, air-cond is cold , rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is lots of choices and staff very helpful and friendly. The locations is nearby to MICT Park and Myanmar Plaza. There is a chinese restaurant nearby about 10 mins walk , KouFu Restaurant. Serves good food and affordable too.

Usually I stay downtown or in Sanchaung when I visit Yangon, but after being fed up being kept up all night with street dogs, bars and traffic noises I decided to try somewhere further out of town. If you want a good night's sleep then you'll definitely get it here! I was only in town for two nights but found it conveniently located, near to lots of food options and a short grab ride to Myanmar Plaza. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the shower isn't over the toilet like in many hotels. I found the staff very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast options were great! Really worth the price, will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is nice, huge, and peaceful. They locate near by the lake, where you can expect a very natural environment with birds and green trees. Service is also great. Internet in room is fast. I used GRAB Taxi for all transportation, and it took only less than 10 minutes to go to Myanmar Plaza, one of the modern plaza around town. But, please note that GRAB Taxi here in Myanmar requires us to pay in cash, can not use GRAB Pay via credit card, so you had better prepare cash. The best way to exchange money in Myanmar is to go to plaza and exchange from the small booth, better rate than from the bank.

My wife and I stayed recently at Mercure Yangon Kaba Aye with our two grown up daughters and a nephew. We stayed in a two bed room apartment and a deluxe room for my nephew. We enjoyed our stay at Mercure Yangon Kaba Aye very much, the accommodation was very comfortable with large rooms and moving areas, very clean and comfortable bath rooms, large comfortable beds and sofas, dining table and chairs. The breakfast was very good with a good variety of Asian and western foods, cakes, fruits and beverages. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made us to feel at home. The swimming pool was bit cold and the gym was great. The airport pick up and transport back to the airport were perfect. Overall it is a great value for the money and we will choose this facility for any any future visits to Myanmar.

A nice hotel which is close to Myanmar Plaza and is situated on a quiet street. The bed is comfortable, with adequate bathroom. Breakfast is minimal, but does the job of feeding guests. For this price, the location and the professional staff, this is a good hotel choice for guests looking at a few nights stay at reasonable prices. Hotels in downtown area are much higher and less well maintained.

Had a holiday in Myanmar for several days and this was, by far, the best place we stayed. The staff were super friendly, the rooms were spotless, and the location, down a small side street, was peaceful and quiet. The Junction 8 area with many shopping and restaurant choices is a short drive away. This hotel will most likely be the place we will stay on any and all future trips to Yangon. Fantastic experience!

I stayed here because I wanted to visit the KabarAye Pagoda which is across the street. I was pleased to find the surrounding neighbourhood was rather pleasant for a couple days stay. I was able to walk to several local restaurants and teashops, including a large traditional Myanmar rice and curry buffet type place near a large grocery/department store that sold sun cream, wine, crackers, nuts, etc. whatever you might need and have forgotten during your travels. Inside the hotel is decorated with traditional Burmese art and statues. The queen bed was in a beautiful four post frame. I liked this compared to some of the more modern or basic hotels/hostels that use ikea like or basic metal/plastic/wood furniture. The room also had a surprisingly spacious bathroom and plenty of closet space with an electric safebox. All the staff I spoke with were incredibly helpful and friendly-- they even called the bus station for me to reserve a ticket.
