Our stay at The Scotsman Hotel was the best foot put forward at the onset of our day one of UK tour.location could not have been better. The amenities in the room were as royal as the City of Edinburgh. My stay would not have been this positive, if not for the Hotel Manager at that time. Mr Grant went out of his way to make my son and I comfortable. He was polite, helpful and ready to walk the extra mile at being professional at work. Edinburgh and Hotel Scotsman Hotel make the same memory stamp in our minds. no one should think twice before booking any hotel for Edinburgh stay. thank you Mr Grant from the core of our hearts.

One of the best hotel i ever visited. Centrally located and very close to any main attraction in Edinburgh. We got upgraded to 3 bedroom and everything about it is perfect. All bedroom is fully furnished and heater in every room. The kitchen is also awesome which have everything we need to cook and also free bread and milk for our breakfast. There are also a dining room which you can use to eat with your big family. Besides the perfect facilities, the service from the staff is also good. Very heartwarming which represent Scottish hospitality. Overall this is a perfect stay for us and will be back to stay here again in the future.

The location is a short walk from the hustle and bustle from the main attractions and definitely a hidden gem. It is ideally located and every aspect of my stay was exceptional. The greeting and check-in was very warm and friendly with first impressions of the hotel very pleasing. My room was equally spacious, clean and very comfortable. I had a great night sleep with no noise and extremely comfortable. The room was well stocked with toiletries, tea/coffee/hot chocolate/biscuits as well as the fruit alternatives. The shower was also amazing great pressure and the temperature was maintained throughout. Breakfast was an additional cost £10 if pre booked which seemed a lot, but you certainly get value for money. Great choice of hot and cold items and buffet self service. It was busy and you didn’t have to wait or queue. Overall a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. This will be my first choice for booking in the future if the price is right.

Beautiful hotel looks like it's just been refurbished, rooms were very nice and breakfast was excellent. Most of the staff were really nice and helpful but at check in I did feel like the receptionist looked down on me. Granted I had just come off a 12 hour flight alone with a baby and looked knackered but still I am a paying customer. She then realized that I had booked a pretty expensive room and let us in the room early. So she was redeemed! Lol the second incident was a coupe of hours before check out , went to have a shower while my baby was a sleep when one of the male staff walked in without knocking. This gave me a massive fright, I should have had the door locked but with it being card access doors I didn't worry to much about. He did apologize profusely but it still freaked me out especially being there with my baby. Overall beautiful hotel, amazing breakfast but some unfortunate and I think not the norm interactions with some staff. Also note they did not have any blankets to fit a baby cot (cot was provided at no extra charge by hotel).

Lovely, very stylish, small apartment (not a hotel "room"), with a beautiful bathroom and fully-stocked hyper-modern kitchen with dishwasher, oven, microwave. Great location on the Royal Mile, so perfect for tourists. I booked three months ago, and got what I think was a bargain rate (although it was a slow time of year, just after New Year.). I've stayed in 5 star hotels, and this was one of the best. Book early. Stayed 3 nights in Room 24.

We booked a three nights stay over New year to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had a King size deluxe room with a great view of the castle. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and assisted us with any information we needed on the area to enhance our stay. The breakfast had a choice of continental or a hot breakfast items and was continuously being monitored so that items were replenished. The hotel was within easy walking access to all the main city centre attractions and shops, as well as restaurants and bars.

I arrived at 7.30am after a 30 hour flight and on arrival said I knew I was exceptionally early and if I could leave my bags. The staff insisted on arranging my room to be cleaned so I could shower and relax. I also had a booking the second night as a twin share under another friends name so they arranged the rooms to be the same. truely the best service I've yet to receive, especially as they proactively try to see where they can make you stay more convenient and enjoyable. The room size is very generous, with all the comforts such as pillow selection, comfortable bed, nice bathroom with plenty of hot water. The location can not be beat - on the royal mile, near the princess at bridge for those who love to shop. I've stayed in many 5 star hotels and this trumps most - and is only rated 4 star which I struggle to understand. All round exceptional, can't fault it and will be staying here again!!

The moment we walked in the front door, we knew we were going to love this hotel. We had the great pleasure of being greeted by Peter Binnie, who was the afternoon manager for our entire stay. He was friendly, engaging and made some great suggestions for places to visit. Even more impressive, as my husband and I were wandering down one of the streets that Peter had recommended to us, who should we bump into, but Peter and, rather than rush past and pretend he hadn't noticed us, he stopped for a chat and pointed out a couple of more things that we might enjoy. Our room was spotless, the beds comfy and the breakfast generous, with probably the best view in Edinburgh, and we found all of the staff to be friendly and helpful, but Peter was an absolute standout. We would definitely book here, again, if we return.

this was our first trip to edinburgh and everyone we talked to told us to stay near the royal mile for the sights. the location of this hotel was exactly what we wanted. near to the royal mile but also near the restaurant area. we stayed 3 nights at the hotel. when we first arrived, the girl who checked us in was great. she made us feel very welcome and pointed out the different possible sites for tourists. the hotel is in good condition with new carpets and quite clean. the room was spacious and had everything i would want. the bed was quite comfortable and large. the bathroom had both a shower and bath (which i like). water ran hot and strong. the internet was quite good as well. overall we had a great experience at this hotel. it was one of the cheaper options that we found, but this is not a budget hotel, this is great value for money and i will stay there again when i return.

I was there three nights. Got there early for check in but they had a room ready so let me check in there and then. Room was a great size - really large for a hotel room. Location is right round the corner from Grassmarket so brilliant for unique little places and bars and restaurants and a nice walk up to the Royal Mile. I ate twice in the hotel and was impressed with the quality of the food. My only complaints would be that the heating wasn't great - didn't seem to make much of a difference when I had it on. Also, the shower was too hot and I couldn't seem to change the temperature - close to scalding temperature. I did let them know at front desk and they said they would have a look but I didn't notice any difference. Great size bathroom with a bath and a separate shower and the toilet itself completely separate. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was small but cute! I would happily stay there again.

We arrived at the hotel early about 11am, whereby the check in only at 2pm but the receptionist with last name Ibrahim she arranged a room for us within 15mins of waiting. While waiting we was also served with coffee. I only booked standard double room but our room was upgraded to suite. Furthermore since we arived Eve of Christmas there was welcome chocolate n a card in the room. It was my husband's birthday so I have been emailing Alyaa one of the worker to arrange some cake n small celebration plus a Christmas dinner, she was really amazing she got all this arranged with no cost n she was so friendly. We stayed there 3nights n we really enjoyed. Near to airport n hop n off bus. Near to all restaurants. 1 of the day we was late to breakfast we requested to send to the room n the staff was so good n it was sent to our room even though the request was very late. There was also complimentary of card n chocolate for my husband for his birthday. We Will Go back for sure to same hotel.

I had planned more time in Scotland, but ended up changing to 2 nights and 1 day. Dean at the desk helped me gather so much information, so I could get on the tours that I did not want to miss. I managed to get everywhere and really enjoyed my visit. He even located discounts. Both he and Agnes were very personable and helpful. I also had the best nights sleep because the bed was so comfortable. Ideally located and easy to get to all attractions. I will recommend the Ibis and will be back in the future.

On arrival at The Grassmarket Hotel we checked in only to find we had been allocated a double room. I had specifically booked a twin room for my friend and myself. Immediately the receptionist changed our room to a quad room. The receptionist was very friendly, professional and efficient. The room was spotlessly clean. It was a large room with a king size bed and two singles. The bathroom was well equipped with a range of toiletries and selection of soft white towels. Tea and coffee making facilities were available with an excellent choice of coffee and teas, plenty of milk and sugars, bottled water, glasses and mugs. Overall excellent value for money and would definitely recommend to anyone. Will definitely stay here again when I visit Edinburgh.

The room is bigger than expected. It is not a lavish hotel, just a basic one. As expected, most of the hotels in Edinburgh are expensive, so with the price they offer for a night, it is already alright considering that it is just a minute walk to the Royal mile and about 3 -minute walk to the waverly station. We got a room on the 3rd floor but they have an elevator so it wasn't difficult to take our things to the room. We had 2 big luggages and a buggy with a 2 yr old toddler. We stayed from saturday to wednesday. Saturday was a busy day in the royal mile and cockburn street as there are many pubs, restaurants and likes in these areas. So expect that it will be extra noisy during weekends. If we'll travel back to Edinburgh, I will still consider to stay in this hotel.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at marriot residence inn. Hotel was quite near the airport. Arrived at hotel at 2pm but could only checked in at 4pm which is a bit too late. So went for a good scottish lunch in a restaurant nearby. The hotel has good location. Walking distance to the royal mile which has many restaurants and souvenier shops. Also very near the Edinburgh Castle and princess street and other tourist attractions. Checked in room given. Happy with a big and clean room with 2 big comfortable beds and a kitchenette with microwave oven and dish washer. There was a huge sofa bed. We could even do our laundry free of charge with soap powner provided at the reception downstairs. The breakfast was good with a big selection of continental food. There were apples at the reception for guests any time. We were welcomed with mulled drinks, nice minced pies and cookies. There were also computers and free wifi for the whole day. Will definately stay again in this hotel if I visit edinburgh again.

The room we had was not that big but its packed with all the comfort and essentials that we needed. Nice built in bluetooth speaker, coffee table/game machine, game consoles, complimentary water, tea, coffee and marshmallow biscuits. The staff were extremely helpful, gave us a map of the city and tips on how to get to top attractions, the breakfast at 3sisters is also quite nice, though the continental breakfast could've been better if there were more viands. At night the place outside the hotel could be noisy especially during Saturday but it wasn't too bad, we put on our music and the noise was drowned. Just a wee bit of suggestion, can you give guests another way of entering the hotel aside from the one that goes through the crowd partying at 3sisters? We felt unease when we had to go through the crowd who were tipsy and in party mode just so we can enter the hotel... But overall, the hotel was pleasant, and the staff was great, will definitely come back.

I've stayed at this lovely hotel in the past, and I really didn't need a reason to book again, but if you are attending many of the comedy events during Fringe season then this Hotel is Location, Location, Location with a 2 minute walk from George Square where so many events take place, and only a 4 minute walk in the other direction from the Royal Mile. The shower is one of the best I have experienced.

Staff, Staff, Staff. That the bedrooms, evening meals are in a class of their own. I sleep light & for the two nights had no problems whatsoever. It’s weakness is breakfast. Eggs Benedict is the highlight. Teabags in cups do not work at this standard & they have teapots! Amazingly no porridge. Location is stunning. Every person who works here is happy & the banter among the staff ensures everyone has a good time. Mince pies in the room on arrival & if you book through the hotel a bottle of Prosecco with ice bucket. My criticism is minor. These folks look after you. One thing make sure you get a key

The hotel is basically lodged between the Edinburgh Castle and Palace of Holyrood House. The castle is a stone's throw away while the journey to Holyrood Palace was a pleasant walk through the many shops along High Street and Cannongate. Just down the road from the hotel is the famous Mary King's Close. We also discovered a great restaurant a couple of doors away called Angels with Bagpipes.
