We were trying to decide between two hotels for our visit to Edinburgh for the last weekend of the Fringe Festival and Edinburgh Tattoo - their busiest time of the year. When looking at the photos of the two hotels, the Scotsman appealed to us more than the other from the decor. But the decider was that one of my daughters who, as a young college student 6 years earl...

One of the best hotel i ever visited. Centrally located and very close to any main attraction in Edinburgh. We got upgraded to 3 bedroom and everything about it is perfect. All bedroom is fully furnished and heater in every room. The kitchen is also awesome which have everything we need to cook and also free bread and milk for our breakfast. There are also a dining roo...

Clean, modern hotel near the museum of surgeons. up a slight hill but walkable none the less. Breakfast was great - lovely croissants and fresh filtered coffee!!! Bedroom was a good size, bed was comfy and usual room coffee/tea etc facilities. Would recommend hotel to others

One of the best hotels we've ever been to. First of all we got a bigger room than we ordered and it was a very pleasant surprise. The hotel is set in authentic building in one of the charming corners of Edinburgh - above the famous steps near Mary King's Close. We had a very spacious and beautiful room, well equipped, huge and comfortable bed, large TV, equipped kitch...

I never write reviews however I really feel at home during my stay at the DoubleTree By Hilton Hotel Edinburgh City Centre! Their goal is to make their guest feel spoiled rotten, since the people at the checking to the room service people. they provide an excellent service and makes you want to stay and never gonna leave PS: their cookies are second to none !

I stayed at this hotel for 4D/3N with my family (husband and 3 children). This is my second time to Edinburgh but for the first time stayed at this hotel. We booked 2 superior rooms. The room is big enough but the bathroom is too small, the bed is very comfy. The reception staffs is friendly and helpfull, cause he gave me all the informations about the hotel. The locat...

Checking in was fast, the free wifi is working fine for normal browsing, the staffs were very helpful with directions when I asked for directions to Arthur's seat. The rooms are clean and all the necessary items are provided (towels, shower gel, hair dryer, kettle). It would be better if there was one more rubbish bin in the room (there was only one bin in the toilet a...

My family (young kids) and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. The Adgio Aparthotels are absolutely wonderful. The apartment that we stayed in was just right for a small family and includes a fully equipped kitchen which is very convinient. The entire apartment is very clean and would recommend to anyone. It's close distance to the famous Edinburgh Castles about 15m...

Perfect for our short stay. Excellent location. A lovely room with great views. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Dining room had wonderful view of Edinburgh castle. The street had many good eating and drinking places and the walk up, up and up to the castle and shops provided good excercise!

The hotel is situated in the Grassmarket area of Edinburgh. Within minutes you can be on the Royal Mile and Edinburgh castle. The Grassmarket area is full of really nice pubs, restaurants and shops. If you walk out the hotel, within 10minutes you are in Princess street gardens or Princess street, which is renowned for its shopping.

I stayed solo for 2 nights and walked around the city of Edinburgh. This hotel was exactly what I was looking for...not a chain, very clean and wonderfully simple, but with everything you need, including excellent and helpful staff, a 24 hour bar, and very quiet even though the room window faced the street. It was a great location... all of the main attractions are in ...

Pros: - Clean rooms - Good shower - Friendly staff - Located just 5-10 mins from Waverly station, and a stone's throw away from many other attractions (Royal Mile, Musuem on the Mound, National Musuem of Scotland, Edinburgh Castle) - Value for money (£47 per night, Jan 2018) Cons - Our room (Room 502) faced the front of the hotel and got noisy at night due to the pubs...

Pool was cold and you need 1 extra person to clear tables in breakfast room, that would clear the long cue for breakfast at the weekend .Also only for your Christmas tree in the lobby Edinburgh has no Christmas atmosphere what so ever ,No lights on royal mile and only for food market on princess street there are no lights anywhere. Edinburgh is supposed to be noted f...

They find the right balance beetwin the great history of Edinburgh and the comfort of the new generation of hotels. The building is old and in the centre of the town, just perfect to visit all the museum and the castle. And is also convenient with all modern facilities with a welcome young, efficient and smiling

Everything you need for a short trip to Edinburgh is here. A stone’s throw from the Royal Mile and all the main sights. Hotel is spotless and a great choice of breakfast available. Staff are friendly and very efficient in a quiet unfussy way. Can’t think of a real downside to our stay here. We’ll definitely be back!

The room is bigger than expected. It is not a lavish hotel, just a basic one. As expected, most of the hotels in Edinburgh are expensive, so with the price they offer for a night, it is already alright considering that it is just a minute walk to the Royal mile and about 3 -minute walk to the waverly station. We got a room on the 3rd floor but they have an elevator ...

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at marriot residence inn. Hotel was quite near the airport. Arrived at hotel at 2pm but could only checked in at 4pm which is a bit too late. So went for a good scottish lunch in a restaurant nearby. The hotel has good location. Walking distance to the royal mile which has many restaurants and souvenier shops. Also very near the Edinburgh C...

I got double room which is super large for me as solo traveller, the room condition was great, perfect. Only one thing is the problem with heater, I inform the staff but they come to fix soon after. The location was very good, right in the middle of the Old town, near the attraction (Edinburgh castle and National museum of Scotland). The room provided good tea corner w...

Great little hotel in the heart of Edinburgh. The restaurant/bar on the main floor is nice and clean with good food. Reception is a little confusing as it also serves as the register for the bar. Once we got that sorted the staff took great care of us through our entire stay. This is on a busy road and there is an unrelated bar that is open late (5am). So the patr...

We enjoyed our stay at this Edinburgh hotel - within walking distance of many historical and cultural attractions and very close to the main station. The room although basic, was clean and very adequate. Could not wish for better service from staff.

We live in Michigan and this was our first trip to Scotland. We dropped off our son to study at the University of Edinburgh, and our apartment at the Fraser Suites was truly a "home away from home" and a welcome refuge at the end of each day. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful by answering all of our questions regarding where to eat, best pubs, where to sho...
