Upon arrival at hotel, i got a good impression of the staff friendliness. And when i got in the room, i felt so impressed with the room cleanliness. The facility in room was also modern as a tablet was available at desk providing online facilities the hotel offered. I was very delighted that the hotel was at perfect location. Starbucks was available close to the lobby,...

SF hotels are tiny at best and dirty at worst. The Hilton SF in Union Square has the largest room (both the King and dual Queen rooms) we have ever stayed in. It's a bit of old but everything is clean and we stayed in Tower 2. We have also stayed in Hotel Nikko next door that one is much newer, plushier but room is also a lot smaller. If you get a good rate with the H...

First off, the Whitcomb is an absolutely amazing Hotel!! I'd say, it's one of SF's best kept secrets!! It practically has everything you need to make your trip that much more awesome. All of the workers are super friendly and helpful for that matter. It's located in the middle of everything. You can walk to Union Square and Cab it to the Wharf for less than 10 dollars....

Arrived a bit late at night and check in experience was quick and very efficient. Very welcoming staff offering help in transportation and sightseeing. Excellent location near Union Square. Enjoyed coffee in the lobby every morning and wine reception in the evening. Will definately recommend to family, friends and business associates traveling to San Francisco.

the hotel is in a good location, right beside chinatown. it's about a 10 minute walk to union square - it's not as centrally located as the other hilton as union square but it's convenient enough. the hotel feels new, i heard it's newly renovated. the only problem was that i booked a king sized bed but the bed i was given was tiny, smaller than the queen sized bed that...

The hotel is near Union Square, great location. My room was small but acceptable size. Very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the mandatory "resort fee" of $15 per day for which you get one free bottle of water per day and wifi internet. Glad I didn't drive a car…parking is expensive! Starbucks next door and many nice restaurants nearby. I wou...

The room was not big, but it was nice and clean with good bathroom size and amenities. It was modern yet classic, new yet traditional. The bed was spacious and comfortable. This hotel has a good location with very close proximity to Union Square; however, it was not that strategic. Since there was bus stop right in front of hotel's main and only entrance; therefore, it...

The location is just between the union square and fisherman wharf. You have to get used to the slope of San Francisco or you have better to go by taxi or cable car. The hotel is a historical building with luxurious decoration. The room is clean and spacious.

The room was perfectly sized, especially given that the hotel is located in Union Square. The bed was luxuriously comfortable, and the clean room with its neat furnishings made for a comfy stay while we were in SF for a few days. When I hobbled to the elevator with coffees and breakfast in hand, the staff went out of their way to help me (first, the conceriege to open ...

HOTEL IS AN ARCHITECTUAL BEAUTY - BUT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT'S BEEN REMODELED IN 25+ YEARS. BED WAS VERY SPRINGY, BATHROOM KINDA FUNKY. A GOOD VALUE FOR LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS THOUGH AS WE ONLY SLEPT THERE, VERY CLOSE TO UNION SQUARE AND CITY HALL. A CONVENIENT CENTRAL LOCATION - LESS THAN 5 MINUTE DRIVE (OR 15 MINUTE WALK) TO SOMA.

We loved our short stay at Stanford Court SF Hotel! It was accessible to the North Beach area, Chinatown, Union Square, etc. It was located on the cable car line, which made it a little loud in the room, but honestly didn't bother us. It was kind of nice to hear the ding-ding in the background (& they provide ear-plugs in the bathroom if it really bothers you). The sta...

Funky boutique hotel, great room, and amazing location near union square. Also, next to the Bart central station. Good coffee at the shop at ground level, but if you are a Starbucks fan, it's a street away. Right in the heart of the shopping district. However , if hotel at full occupancy , noise may be an issue...

The good: close walk (~1.5 miles) to either Fisherman's Warf or to Union Square which means easy access to entertainment such as Pier 39, Big Bus tours, Alcatraz, Chinatown, Coit Tower, Lombard Street, and the old time Trolley rides. Great food options in the area, especially along Polk Street, which the hotel is on the south end of. The room was unexpectedly VERY qui...

My USA trip with my mom was the first one, and well expectedly we were looking for some more experience. I have spent many many days trying to choose which hotel we would stay in. Fooled by the address to be at Geary St, the location is not at all at Union Square, it is considered in Tenderloin area which the locals have been saying it is not in a safe area. Someone...

Just couple of mins walk to union square and Chinatown. Cable car stop is just by the hotel. Check in is a breeze and so is check out. Room is clean and big, with good range of toiletries provided. There is a water dispenser for hotel guests use at the lobby. Wifi is strong at all times and Staff is friendly.

Nice hotel in great location near Union Square. Hotel is a memorial to dead US servicemen with the walls of every floor covered in photos of these people. Facilities are limited and wifi is appalling, but a good breakfast was included and a ‘ ‘happy 2 hours’ with free drinks on the 12th Floor. Staff were top notch and very helpful. Was really good value too.

Perfect location to enjoy the city! Near the entrance of Chinatown and within 10 min walking distance to Union Square. Nice room and clean bathroom. Services are good as well. I arrived at around 12:30AM and they allowed early checkin because the room was already available. Would totally love to stay here again for my next trip to SF!

when we first got to union square plaza, our first thought was that the room was incredibly small. the place is a bit dated, and it needs refurbishing, but we were on a budget and in the end, it sas worth what we paid for. hotels in union square area are really expensive, we're glad to have found a hotel conveniently located within our budget. internet was supposed...

For San Francisco on a budget this was a great, convenient hotel to stay at - just down the road from Union Square & very handy to the cable cars (one of the stops is straight across the road). I do recommend to book in advance so that you get a cheaper deal & make sure you book a room with an ensuite. I had a Queen shared bathroom & while the amenities were clean, th...

Great location, close to Union Square, groceries and shopping. Rooms feel newly renovated with sink, microwave and fridge in all of them. They have a drinking water machine in the lobby; you can refill your bottles, save some $$ and the inconvenience of hauling water gallons or bottles from the stores. Club floor has complimentary coffee, hot chocolate and tea most of...

Never knew there was a BW in downtown Union Square as we always booked a hotel just around the corner. Little did I know, they were one of the few hotels that offered King beds. Huge plus considering hotel rooms are quite small in SF. However the rooms at this BW were very roomy even with the King bed. Only drawback was the location of the bathroom sink and medicin...

This is the best hotel in San Francisco. For sight seeing, it is in front of Union Square where pick up happens for all tours. The cable cars passes right by the front door. You can run to the wharf for 3k and back. It is just 10-12minutes walk to Moscone Convention Center. It is in the shopping district of San Francisco. You have the best choice of restaurants around....

I seriously can't wait to book my next stay at The Clift! Excellent location just a couple blocks from Union Square, superb customer service. There is nothing worse than staying in a hotel and having a horribly uncomfortable bed; with that being said my bed at the clift was so comfortable and I had the best nights sleep ever. Centrally located to shopping and nightlif...

It's only 2-3 minutes walk from Powell station and so easy to get by everywhere. Westfield Bloomingdale shopping mall is just near by and Powell/Hyde station is 1 minute away. It's also not far from Union Square. Wish the Gym is clearly labelled at the lobby. I like the blackout blind in the room and there's ceiling fan apart from the reverse cycle air-con which is als...
