"when we first got to union square plaza, our first thought was that the room was incredibly small. the place is a bit dated, and it needs refurbishing, but we were on a budget and in the end, it sas worth what we paid for. hotels in union square area are really expensive, we're glad to have found a hotel conveniently located within our budget. internet was supposed to have charge, but since we stayed for three nights the front desk clerk gave us the password for free. since it's located at union square, there are a lot of restaurants nearby. we noticed there are a lot of people lining up at the japanese restaurant beside the hotel. all the time. we did noy get to try it though... despite the hotel being dated and it gave us the feeling that the hotel wasnt really clean, we got fresh linen daily and fresh towels, so it isn't so bad. we might stay again. not bad for travellers on a budget who wants just the basic room."

"The room was perfectly sized, especially given that the hotel is located in Union Square. The bed was luxuriously comfortable, and the clean room with its neat furnishings made for a comfy stay while we were in SF for a few days. When I hobbled to the elevator with coffees and breakfast in hand, the staff went out of their way to help me (first, the conceriege to open the elevator and press my floor number, and second, the cleaning staff to help me open my room door). The room price is a steal, considering how nice the room was and how centralized the location is. We'd definitely come back for another stay!"

"The hotel is located in the center of Union Square Downtown. It’s surrounded by all kinds of stores and restaurants. It was a very touristy area, if that’s what you looking for, this hotel is perfect. The staff were really helpful, the room is clean and simple, modern deco. Please keep in mind they don not provide toothbrush / nail , shower cap knit. The rest of the stayed were very pleasant and convenient. "

"the hotel is in a good location, right beside chinatown. it's about a 10 minute walk to union square - it's not as centrally located as the other hilton as union square but it's convenient enough. the hotel feels new, i heard it's newly renovated. the only problem was that i booked a king sized bed but the bed i was given was tiny, smaller than the queen sized bed that i have at home. not sure why this was so. "Being fortunate to live only a few hours from San Francisco, I have had the luxury of staying overnight in the city many, many times over the years. I've stayed at 1. 2 3 and 4 star locations, I've stayed near the airport, near the ocean, up high and down low. We usually end up near Union Square as it is a central location to most of the popular neighborhoods; you can easily walk to Chinatown, North Beach and the Wharf are a good walk or a short taxi or cable car ride away, and most of the city's public transportation is close by. That being said, there are some hotels near Union Square that I'd be a bit concerned about staying at. The internet along with TA and Agoda now give us, the traveler, a way to narrow down our choices and remove those questionable hotels from our list. Once you weed out the chaff you find the gems, The Inn at Union Square is one of those masterpieces. The staff at this hotel work so hard to keep you, the guest happy. I must single out Anna, on our most recent stay, who bent over backwards to take care of my wife and I on our recent anniversary stay. Amazing people at an amazing hotel in an amazing city!"

"The staff were very friendly and helped me wherever they could. The hotel looks like its been recently refurbished, so everything is very clean and new. The bed was very comfortable, such soft sheets! The location is very central, walking distance to shops etc. It is in the Tenderloin though, there are a lot of homeless people on the streets, but that's San Fran for you. This is definitely one of the nicest hotels in the area, I stayed at a few and this was definitely the best value for money. "

"My family of 3 adults stayed for 5 nights during superbowl week and we had an excellent time. Great rates compared to other hotels in union square. Clean and spacious rooms, good beds, awesome toiletries. We weren't able to see the gym facilities but were able to try the breakfast buffet at $30/pax. It was good as it offered american and japanese options. There was no free water but you can get cheap water in walgreens. The only thing I wish they had was a microwave. All in all, we will definitely be back!"
