We had a great stay at Hyatt! The view was amazing! They accommodated my requests for late check-in and check-out, had our room prepared with a happy birthday cake for my husband who was celebrating his birthday, and a nice baby cot. Our 2 younger kids enjoyed the vast, beautiful, outdoor swimming pool which for me is the hotel’s best feature. Love the food (highly recommend Baked Salmon and Mutton Buttered Naan!), friendly staff, nice facilities. Would definitely come back!

The most attentive staff. They even remember the tea I drink the next day I returned. Best and cleanest environment in Kathmandu, away from the pollution. Very convenient location and only a 5 min walk to the Boudhha Stupa. Staff service standards are the best I have ever experienced all over the world. Well done Hyatt Regency Kathmandu!

The Hyatt is an Oasis after exploring the sites in Kathmandu and the valley as the Infrastructure has deteriorated to sad conditions - roads full of potholes, lined with garbage and debris, dust everywhere, chaotic traffic, notorious shortage of water-und powersupply. The Hotel is in walking distance to the holy Boudhanath Stupa the center of the tibetan community in Kathmandu, but it is 11 km from the center of town. Staff is friendly, but the security locks at the doors to the room floors and the doors as well are in poor condition and a challenge to one's patience and skill, how to insert the keycard.

Just what was wanted after a long cold trek.”
the conditons on the trek through nepal in winter and in the city of kathmandu were vastly different from the relative luxury of the converted palace that has grown to become the hyatt regency. my friend really needed something warm, friendly and clean - particularly at christmas, far away from sunny perth, australia. staff were very accommodating about last minute changes to our booking.

Very nice rooms, nice swimming pool”
We enjoyed our stay. There are not a lot of places in Kathmandu that can compete with the Hyatt as far as amenities. The rooms are comfortable, the grounds provide a buffer to the regular Kathmandu bustle and dust and the buffet breakfast is terrific. The Hyatt is also near the airport.

1 of the best hotel in town away from hectic city”
Due to the fact the general standard hotel in Kathmandu is really low, Hyatt Regency is already being considered very classy though it's nothing compare with hotels in other countries. It show its age especially the bathroom in the spa. Hotel should really invest in renovation if budget allow. I was very surprise there is a Dettol handwash in the bathroom. It's just not a setting I expect from 5 star hotel. As for breakfast in Rox cafe, how could such rotted fruit serving customers? I am scare to have diarrhea after eaten! It is absolutely disappointing. Also staffs are not paying attention enough if the food are finished on the buffet bar. Rather say they are not all seem not understand English well than they are not friendly. But this hotel do give you an amazing getaway from the crazy chaotic downtown, like a lot happy hour on executive floor with free food and drink also nice view. Good pizza in italian restaurant!

Great hotel near Boudhanath Stupa”
My friends and I were only planning on staying one night at the Hyatt before flying to Pokhara, but the national strike on 19 December made us decide to stay in Kathmandu. The hotel has comfortable rooms, feels very safe, and is close to Boudhanath Stupa and airport. There's a fantastic supermarket across the road, and the Boudhanath Stupa is a 500m walk from the hotel. The downside would be the Agoda booking. I extended my stay via the Agoda website, and the Hyatt Concierge telephoned me at 9.30pm asking me to head down to their offices to print out the Agoda booking for them as their Reservations staff had left for the day. I asked if I could do this the next day, as I was thoroughly exhausted from a day's sightseeing, but they insisted I go downstairs and show them proof of my Agoda booking.

Great break from Kathmandu”
We booked 2 nights on recommendation from another traveller after 8 days trekking - it was nice to have a break from thinking, travelling etc. The pool and mojitos were great - the restaurants (both Cafe and Rox) were good but (not surprisingly) expensive compared to the rest of Nepal. Sometimes service was lacking so you need to be clear about what you prefer. We also stayed one night at Hotel de L'Annapurna for the same cost and Hyatt was 100 times better although the Indian restaurant at L'Annapurna was one of the best meals. We also stayed at Kathmandu Guest House for a fraction of the cost which has a lovely garden but no pool.

this is kind of over price for kathmandu, but it is worth it if you can afford it. after wandering around the streets of kathmandu or after a long hike, it is great to come home to this hotel, with its nice lobby (with traditional music), a nice swim in its large pool, and nice appetizers in its 6th floor lounge. cons: you have to pay for every little extra service, expensive internet, expensive phone calls, its faraway location from downtown kathmandu (though, they have a drop-off shuttle service from the hotel on some hours), very expensive travel agent

The hotel was very clean when I entered and the air instantly felt fresh! The food served at the room service was delicious too! More importantly, it's just a 5 mins walk from the Bodhanath Stupa and about 15 mins drive to the International Airport (do bargain for the taxi fees before you board; should be less than 500 rupees but even that is expensive already)! I have previously stayed at Hyatt in 2011. I thought 8 years later, the hotel may be a bit run-down and I thought maybe it's not value for money anymore, but to my surprise, they kept the hotel in tip-top condition! And 2 things I have noticed were they don't use plastic bags to contain the rubbish, they just empty it everyday and 2) they use very good quality furniture and maintain them in good condition. So I thought it was very eco-friendly!

our stay at the hyatt was great. the hotel is very nice; staff was extremely nice, rooms was quite big and the bathroom very big. the hotel is a bit far away from the center but it is actually a good thing as the center is very noisy and polluted. the hotel provides free shuttle bus to the center (20mns) so it is very easy to reach. our only bad points would be that the cleaning staff and the plumbing was quite noisy, which was a bit annoying at night time or early morning. and that it is a disgrace than nowadays in such high standard hotel the internet was not free and so expansive (hour).

This is the first time to go to kathmandue for me. I worry about safty and health during stay there. so I chosen good hotel even though bit expensive. but I do not think wast money, because the hotel service is very nice. the staff booked me flight tickets as soon as I asked.I can go to butta's birth place whithen one day. It takes 8hous by bus.I really enjoy stay the hotel and kathmandu.next time I will stay cheeper hotel, but i would like to stay this hotel after arrivung and before depercher. thanks

this is a great hotel and a wonderful respite from the chaos that is kathmandu. the staff is very helpful and problem solved our issue of needing connecting rooms with our small children in a very professional way. the location is great for walking to the large stupa nearby and we ate dinner at two of the restaurants circling the stupa a couple of nights. would definitely stay here again.

unbelievable hotel. absolutely accommodating staff, outstanding food, beautiful grounds, and rooms cleaned twice daily. this is the only hotel option in nepal as far as i am concerned. not too interested in "roughing it", as kathmandu is rather hectic. a very welcome slice of serenity and opulence amid the chaos of downtown.
