[+] -Ancient interior, clean bed sheets, reliable power outlet, eco-friendly (mineral water in copper water bottle!), friendly staff, neat Western breakfast -A cozy space where you can relax after trekking before returning home! I want to visit again with my lover. [-] -dim lighting. -There are no bathroom items except soap. -Breakfast is a bit expensive compared to the local price, but it is convenient to use briefly before moving to the airport early in the morning. Especially the fruits were delicious. -I booked a taxi to the airport through the lobby and the staff informed me in advance that it was 700 rupees. But when I arrived at the airport and paid 1000 rupees, the taxi driver gave me only 200 rupees because he didn't have any change... even I had to unload all the heavy luggage myself.

Gorgeous, convenient, peaceful, quiet haven in Thamel!”
Escape fun but busy, noisy, pressured Thamel, just by walking down the alley into this beautiful, traditionally built Newar style hotel, with beautiful brickwork and wood lattice windows. We got deluxe rooms that had everything we needed, although lighting was very dim (would benefit by bigger energy-saving warm LED bulbs). Turned on fan pointing out the window at first, to cool the warm room (July monsoon), and then were very comfortable all night without fan. We brought our own mosquito bat to zap mosquitoes (I don't like using the provided chemical plug-in anti-mosquito device). Tasty healthful breakfast. The beautiful grassy lawn would benefit from cleaning up debris. It felt like an affordable stay in a comfortable Rana palace; we want to come again!

What an amazing place. Built with the traditional famous Newari wood craftsmanship on all the windows, doors, rafters, everywhere. The staff are just exceptional too, attentive, friendly, curious and well-informed without being overbearing at all. Ganesh, in the restaurant, fattened us up with all manner of delicious treats every meal we had.

Loved Kantipur Temple house and want to go back again and again”
Loved our stay at Kantipur Temple house and loved the gorgeous architecture. The hotel is in Thamel but amazingly quite inside. The decor inside is beautiful and intricate. Breakfast is fresh with all organic produce and delicious. Beds and rooms were most comfortable with great showers. We were concerned for not having AC as it was a eco hotel but the hotel was naturally very cool may be for the architectural design. Loved every minute of our stay with a 72 years old woman and two 7 years old children. We felt very very welcome and safe and the stay felt like a fantastic homestay. Can’t say enough great things about this hotel. The staff are amazing. Manager Suman is such an amazing host that he with his smile, kindness and solutions for all problems will remain in our hearts for long. The owner comes to the hotel every morning and speaks to each and every guest personally. Loved our stay at the hotel. Thank you KTH and thank you Suman for making our Kathmandu trip so so special

Great Building, Service, and Location!”
The hotel itself is a really neat building. My kids and I explored around the hotel, admiring the architecture and woodwork. It is in Thamel, close to a lot of great sites, shops, and restaurants in Kathmandu. The service was phenomenal. For example, on a cold, rainy evening after my family returned from touring, without being asked, the staff brought us hot water bottles for our beds to help keep us warm. The beds and bedrooms were cozy.

Kantipur is exceptionally beautiful. It has got a great charm and ambiance. The staff there are extremely caring and helpful. They have a special warmth and affection towards people who are coming to Nepal for the first time. I look forward to coming to this place again.

Exceptional stay”
Have just returned from a really lovely stay in the Kantipur Temple House. We had a triple room that was so cozy and warm while it was. freezing outside. The hotel is eco which meant we were offered hot water bottles in our beds at night . We could ring down for drinking water in a jug ( no plastic bottles) The staff were so friendly and helpful. Always smiling and keen to help. Yoga is offered in the morning which was free of charge along with a wonderful 2 hour guided walking tour of the area , which was photographic heaven. Super yummy breakfast with great coffee. We can’t wait to go back. A real treat to find such a lovely boutique hotel in Kathmandu.

This hotel is the one you want to get to feel Khatmandu closer and a totally different experience. Very clean and of the best local breakfasts everrrrr! Try the pancakes with banana and you’ll understand me or try the local bread with butter. Very earthy!!!

A bit underwhelming. Booked this hotel as a treat after trekking in the mountains, but wished I had gone somewhere else. The room was way too dark. Even with all the lights on it was still too dark. The bathroom wasn’t as pictured and had a bad smell that would come and go, probably because of the pipe drain near the toilet. Hotel itself was beautiful - dark brick and wood with intricate carvings. The staff are attentive but the facilities were a bit lacking for the price. Outlets would not hold plugs, room lost power at one point, wifi was barely functional, and space heater promptly broke after switching it on. Didn’t know this was an eco hotel with no heat until after I checked in. Food was fine but portions too small. Lovely courtyard. Wanted to like this place more, but the dark, cold room and frustrations with power/wifi really soured my impression.
