"I booked this hotel for my parents. I don't really know what they look for in a hotel but I am as tight as a duck's bumble so booked this place for them. As you can see from the pictures, I'd assumed they weren't going to be hopping on the love boat but the room supposedly met with their modest approval. Their gratitude at not having to pay for the room certainly extended to at least not moaning about it too much. The location was apparently fine which was good because when I told them I'd booked a hotel in Leith you'd think from their response that I'd booked them into an open sewer in downtown Basra!"

"A bit shabby, but has everything you'd need...clean bathroom, tea+coffee set, 2 bins, beds made daily. Stayed for 3 nights: different receptionist every time we went in + out, all sorts of languages, very friendly. Let me phone home when my mobile broke. We phoned for pizza delivery at night and ate it under cover in the garden seating area, then made a coffee + had a smoke: nice, well-tended garden. Room key opens front door too, so no curfew. Leith Walk at end of the road has supermarkets + reasonably priced cafes + restaurants. At last-minute cheap rate we were very happy, good value."

"Hotel is located just outside the city, and opposite a large supermarket. It offers free parking for guests and there is no problem finding an available lot. There is a direct bus to the city from a bus stop just outside the hotel, hence it's convenient. Room is very clean and spacious and so is the toilet. We had a view of the city from our room and it was magnificent. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. There are quite many facilities/amenities available including a restaurant but we did not use those so we can't comment."

"Well appointed hotel, near very interesting area of Edinburgh (Leith), away from the bustle of tourists in the ciy centre. The Festival crowds can be daunting. The bus services were very frequent to the city centre and could take you to any of the attractions easily. If a family wished to travel around the city I would recommend a day ticket which would save finding change everytime you caught a bus. The bus services donot give change. My only criticism of the hotel is the bedrooms are very hot, very comfy beds and cosy, but too hot for us."

"Lovely spacious rooms. The hotel in general was clean and to an excellent standard. Beautiful location in Leith, within walking distance from a few nice restaurants and pubs. Its also just outside the quay which was just lovely to sit outside and watch. We didn't really have much contact with the staff, but they seemed polite during dinner."

" I selected the Park View House Hotel, 'coz it is not far from the City Center, only 10 minutes by bus (No.25 1.6 GBP). It is very easy to access/connect to the AirLink for airportfrom the Princes street. The location was very quiet, close to the park and Tesco store. All Staffs were very well with good service mind. Breakfast is not so much, but it is enough for 3 stars."
