Very nice, central and friendly guesthouse”
We stayed comparatively long in Nyaung Shwe and we couldn't have found a nicer guest house than the Mingalar Inn. The staff is super sweet and friendly, the pool is lovely, breakfast is great and it's well located within Nyaung Shwe...only a five minute walk from the market. We had the cheapest room, so not a room next to the pool, and the room only had a moskito net instead of a window. This made it quite loud in the morning and on two mornings the smoke of burning trash from the people who lived behind the hotel walls entered our room. That was the only set back. Apart from that, all was great and I a quite sure that this problem only occurred in this one room...

Great location, friendly staff, simple breakfast, ICY COLD swimming pool”
We chose to stay in Nyaung Shwe instead of some resorts on Inle Lake, because we wanted something to do after dark. Being stuck in some resort after dark, surrounded by cackling P.R.Chinese tourists, unable to escape anywhere without a boat, is NOT our idea of good travelling. So we booked this inn and were so glad we did. We love the location. It's within walking distance to so many good restaurants and a wonderful massage place. We love how peaceful the neighbourhood felt after dark. Breakfast was a simple but decent spread. However, the pool was ICY cold - swimming wasn’t exactly possible. The temperature Inle Lake area can drop to 8°C in the dark hours. I would also suggest arranging for the inn to pick you up from the airport. Damn airport taxi wanted 40000 Kyat and didn't have the decency to tell us there be toll of 1500 PER PERSON to pay. It's not much money, but no less annoying. The inn's car took us to the airport for just 20000 Kyat and NO toll. Get the hotel to pick you up.

Good location, great Staff!”
Arrived dusty at Mingalar Inn after trekking through villages for past 3 days. A thorough Hot water shower started our stay at the cosy little place, dinner at the highly reviewed San Ma Thu, just a few minutes walk away. And the next day breakfast fully recharged us to rent bikes at very reasonal price and with directions and map provided by their frontdesk, we rode to Khaug Dine and took the boat ferry across to Min Thauk Bridge then cycled back to Nyaung Shwe. Friendly front desk, who also serve us coffee and breakfast. Even helped us call bus company to double confirm a tuktuk was going to pick us up to shuttle us to bus counter. Excellent service!

I have spent almost a week at Mingalar Inn and I would come happily back. At start of my stay, I’ve got the regular travels food poisoning, probably from the night market or a food before arriving to Inle Lake. The stuff was so helpful, kind and caring. I can’t imagine going through the decease without their compassion. They serve a nice breakfast with great banana pancakes :) And the pool is really clean and cools one off in a hot day. The hotel is very close to good restaurants and the channel to take the boat ride on Inle Lake. Thank you again for the nice smiles, talks and great care!

Exceptional”
We loved the family run Mingalar Inn! The friendly staff team really bent over backwards to be of help at all times. The breakfasts were just monumental...delicious! Banana pancakes to die for and the best samosas I've ever eaten.... if you can cope with all that at 8am! Perfect calm location surrounded by great little restaurants and short walks to the lake and the town centre market and shops. Pool area made really attractive with beautiful, well-kept, plants and comfortable sunbeds. Standard rooms were clean and comfortable, if basic, but with everything you need. Very reasonably priced for a hotel with a pool at Inlay. It was not the "smartest" hotel we stayed in, but certainly our favourite. We highly recommend The Mingalar Inn!

Great team managing a beautiful hotel, best breakfast!”
This was our favourite hotel in our 1 month travels through Myanmar. We were so comfortable here (and loved Nyaung Shwe) that we ended up extending our stay from 2 nights to 6! A super friendly, hard working team always working around the clock to look after the beautiful property and their guests. We absolutely loved their daily fresh lime juice they gave their guests and their breakfast was superb. Any kind of egg, pancake, fruit and other bits and bobs. I was always happily full after their yummy breakfast! The swimming pool is kept clean and a decent size (10m at least in length) to enjoy a good swim after a hot day out. We had the basic room which was perhaps a little old-ish, but it was comfortable with a lovely hot shower. We really felt at home! It's located really centrally in Nyaung Shwe, nothing is too far away and they also rent well maintained, good condition bicycles for 1500 kyat. Really can't complain and would definitely come back when we return to Nyaung Shwe! Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay in the Mingalar Inn very much. We had a room near the pool and it was very spacious and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We booked a boottrip over Inle Lake at the hotel aswell and we really liked it, we got good value for our money. It's so nice to jump in the pool at the end of the day (or the beginning.. haha), so hotels with a pool are a big bonus.

Lovely relaxing place with great pool”
The Mingalar Inn is a very charming and desirable option for Inle Lake area. The swimming pool is perfect for socializing and for relaxing (part of the purpose of being in Inle Lake). We stayed at the cheaper side of the hotel which was perfectly adequate, and sweetly decorated with its bamboo walls and stalks.

Junior Suite 3-Night Stay”
We stayed 3-nights at the Mingalar in a Junior Suite for (50$ US) per night. It was beautiful. Great balcony/terrace with a good interior, nice wood and small bamboo decorations, plenty of desk space with a small lounge area for writing with closed curtains so as not to disturb late sleepers. The value was tremendous compared to the budget traveller, small, style double rooms for (25$ US) per night. The pool lived up to all expectations, it was cleanand quite reefreshing after a day in the heat. The breakfast that was included each morning was the best 'free' breakfast we've had in all Southeast Asia. Eggs, toast, fruit (mangos/watermelon etc), juice, coffee/tea, pancakes, and fried breakfast samosas. The works. I'd recommend this place if you have some extra money and want to enjoy Inle Lake in style at a reasonable price.

Excellent value, super hospitality and a great location for exploring Inle Lake”
Rather small family run hotel in Nyaung Shwe. Peacefull surroundings and basic rooms. Limited but tasty breakfast. Working wifi. Service and hospitality was outstanding. We booked for example Inle Lake boat tour through the hotel. This was a great place to explore Nyaung Shwe and Inle. The value you get for the money is unbeatable. In terms of local resturants, we tried Chillax bistro (actually three times), Cosy Chicken shack and Star Flower, the teo latter being just around the corner.

A clean guesthouse with helpful staff”
There's two types of accommodation at this guesthouse - there's the 3 star accommodation near the swimming pool and then there's the more backpacker style rooms on the other side of reception. I stayed on the backpacker style side! The rooms are clean and the staff are helpful, plus they provide a very substantial breakfast. Pick up from airport is 5USD - around 5000 kyat - cheaper than if you just get a taxi on arrival to the guesthouse. They can also arrange for you to share a taxi and split costs if you are catching your flight from Heho, as it's expensive because it's quite far from Inle. It's 20USD if you get an airport transfer with Mingalar Inn and 15USD with them when returning to the airport through them. Their boat tours seemed reasonably priced too. On the whole, I found I received honest and reliable service at Mingalar Inn.

Don't even look elsewhere! Honestly!!”
We absolutely loved Mingalar Inn. We arrived at 6am in the morning off an overnight bus and were checked into our room straight away as our room was ready. The staff are absolutely wonderful and so very welcoming. We booked all of our tours and our bus onto Bagan through them and found their pricing extremely reasonable. The breakfast... oh my!! The food just keeps coming, fresh fruit, avocodo, toast, eggs, pancakes (I don't normally like pancakes but I couldn't stop eating them here!! Sooo delicious!!) and other items that differ each morning. The pool is extremely nice, clean and very relaxing. The room (we stayed in the junior suite upstairs overlooking the pool) was extremely spacious, the bed was comfortable and there is even a bathtub!! We absolutely loved it and would highly recommend to everyone!!

Best value for money we experimented in the whole Asia”
Excellent hôtel in Nyaung Shwe, on a great central location but far from the main traffic. We had an amazing time here, where we spent 6 nights in total. Absolutely perfect after the trekking from Kalaw. What we loved : - The whole staff is so lovely. You got a fresh lemon juice each afternoon, by the pool or in the room - Buffet Breakfast next to the pool area. Abundant and, here again, the staff is lovely. - Rooms : had the standard room: really spacious, good bed, comfy mattress, a lounge corner, clean bathroom, etc... - Price : how could we find a better price for value here? We paid around 20$ per night and got treated like kings. We checked out at 11am, and they kindly let their guest chill by the pool when waiting for the late afternoon buses : that was awesome. Our favorite hotel in the whole Myanmar.

We ended up in Nyaung Shwe a night earlier than planned, and were able to book a standard room very easily. The standard room was exactly as it sounds, standard. It had comfy bed and blanket, towels, a small table and chair and not much else. But for $20 bucks a night and booked so last minute, we were VERY happy and VERY comfortable. The next morning we were able to check out immediately and check right in to our other reservation at the junior pool suite. It was amazing! HUGE bed, thick blankets, a couch, coffee table, TV, mini fridge, a small table and chair set out by a big window overlooking the pool, and a balcony with two lounge chairs. it was gorgeous. The bathroom had a large tub and toiletries for us to use. The staff were incredible here. We arrived at 1am and they were all awake and ready to assist us with check in and our bags. Breakfast was filling and delicious and the coffee kept flowing. They helped us book taxis and figure out how to get around the lake.

Budget option with good amenities”
Breakfast was great and the pool was really nice! When the power was on (Nyaung Shwe is subject to frequent power outages), the wifi was great. However, be warned that the standard rooms are rather shabby and look nothing like the gorgeous rooms in the new part of the hotel. We had no problem with this, as it was still great value for our money, but consider yourself warned. Also, heed the many signs and rules posted. We watched a foreigner from another hotel try and join a guest of Mingalar Inn by the pool, and he suffered the wrath of not one, but two staff members.

Friendly service”
We arrived at 3:30 in the morning after an a/c bus with reclining seats turned into reality...12 people crammed into a van for 6 hours overnight from Bagan to Naung Shwe. We were booked at Mingalar Inn for the next day but the kind gentleman who opened the door for us found us a room and let us stay early. We did end up paying a fee for extra hours of stay, but the sleep was worth it!

Receptionist was very accommodating and allowed us to check in earlier. Was given a spacious room with full height window glass panel. Awesome! Room was spacious and clean... and it comes with two lazy chairs on the balcony too. I had a very good experience staying in Mingalar Inn. Would recommend it to anyone visiting the ever beautiful Lake Inle.

I had a great stay at Mingalar Inn. The staff is sooo nice and friendly and prepare you a nice breakfast. Very good massage and cosy beds, a place whete you can relax. When in Inle Lake, i definitly wozld stay there.

A Beautiful Oasis in Nyaungshwe”
Mingalar was our first stop in Myanmar and provided the perfect place to lay our heads after 36 hours of travel. The beds are soft and the showers have reliable hot water. Note that we stayed on the "cheap" side of the hotel. They have a second building by the pool that's much nicer (and, I assume, more expensive). However, our room was very clean and spacious. Breakfast is fantastic, with a mixture of Burmese and Western options. Try the fried doughnuts if you get a chance! We didn't swim, however the pool area is very peaceful and nice after a hot day around Inle. When you return every day, they give you free lemonade! Hotel staff speaks good English and will arrange excursions for you at a fair price.

Wonderful place”
The Mingalar Inn is a lovely little inn near the centre of the town. The staff could not be nicer or more helpful. Any tour or information or flight we needed booked the manager did it efficiently and with a beautiful smile. The pool is small but a lovely respite from the dust and heat. Breakfast was lovely and served with the usual friendliness. It is the second time I have stayed at the Mingalar Inn and I would stay here again anytime.
