Confusing and disappointing?”

Great location to look at birds and hang out in nature. There were no water in the cabins from around 10pm onwards. We wanted to use the bathroom and shower, so tried to get the staff to help. The two men who were on duty at the time were completely unhelpful, told us to wait or go to sleep instead. They did not call their managers, and did not even speak to us politely. They only began to help when we ended up trying to fix the pump system ourselves. Still no water until around 7am. The front desk staff were apologetic, but come on, we need to be able to flush toilets, clean ourselves, and use water on our vacation. There was also kind of a gross graveyard of geckos and insects rotting inside the kettle when we tried to make tea. Yuck.

Nice place - but less facilities and cleanliness ”

Firstly I booked a double bed specially, they gave me a twin bed small room so on spot I have to pay more for a double bed and get a new bungalow ..,!! And the cleanliness was low, but the surrounding lakes and nature is beautiful .. x. Resort not worth for the cash you pay, there are better resorts nearby for better prices than this

Good place to go but no lake during the Hot season.”

The place is absolutely gorgeous and the staff is very nice. I have been there in winter and the place was amazing. You can take the boat and visit the wetland. This is why I decide to take a room recently there but the landscape changed. Instead of water, the lake was only land of earth in which buffalos were eating grass. The place is very nice but not as magical as I remember during the winter season. Highly recommended for watching sunset and sunrise. Birds and lotus flowers. Be careful when you made the booking during the dry/ hot season. Staff is very nice and welcome.

Detox weekend close to Yangon”

The wetlands are really calm and beautiful at sunrise and sunset. Apart from the boat tour there's not much to do, so if you want to get out of the crazy Yangon traffic, this is the place to be: No TV, no free Wifi - bring a good book or board games. Food is good, plentiful, and service is fast. Rooms are basic; the boat bungalows are overpriced in my opinion, though they have been recently repainted. Mosquito nets provided. Maintenance needed to replace broken boards on the walkways. The foreigner price for boat tour is too much: $15 per person (without a guide), though we enjoyed the early morning trip to the wetlands, watching the sun rise with only the sound of birds (and boat engine). Improved English would be a big help, though we did manage to communicate :)

Overpriced for what it is”

They are putting 4-star pricing on a resort that is really very basic (1 to 2 stars)in terms of rooms, food and so on -- and this is coming from a long-time resident of Myanmar and Southeast Asia. Not a bad place, set on the edge of a lovely lake with natural scenery that's a nice break from Yangon, though not spectacular. The staff are friendly and accommodating. They just charge far, far too much for everything, especially the boat tours. Our room had no real hot water and a shower that left the floor of the entire bathroom perpetually wet. These things are not unusual in provincial Myanmar, but one expects more for 70 to 100+ US dollars a night.

Poorly maintained with very poor customer service”

Good points are accessibility, quietness, nature and birds of course. Bad points are poor customer service, poorly maintained rooms, poor hygiene, poor facilities, not value for money stay. Recommendation - 1. Bring your own toiletries 2. Bring your own towels 3. Pack summer wear as it's way too warm in the room from 8am to 7pm.

Einfaches und authentisches Hotel mit sehr freundlichem Personal und einigermassen sauberen Zimmern. Wir hatten keine Viecher im Zimmer :-). Allerdings im Dunkeln mit dem Auto schwer zu finden.
