I loved Morning Glory Inn! I wanted somewhere that was a respite, and I certainly got it. Sitting on the porch overlooking the garden view to the mountains was EVERYTHING I hoped. The only reason I gave 4 stars for cleanliness was that my room wasn’t cleaned for the first couple of days; but then it was cleaned every day after that’s maybe a miscommunication, but I know that if I’d asked, it would’ve been seen to right away! The staff were all so friendly and generous. I didn’t realize until the 3rd day or so that they really do offer motorbike rides to where you want to go in town *totally free*! Now THAT’S amazing. If you’re looking for something tranquil just outside of town—not a fancy room but a spectacular view—and at a very good price (BIG breakfast included), I highly recommend this place!

We spent a couple of days in Kalaw at Morning Glory Inn and really enjoyed our stay. Best breakfast ever, never ending pancakes ! The family is incredibly kind and helpful. Highly recommended.

Cozy bungalow apartment with very friendly staff located in the quiet part of town”
We enjoyed the beautiful landscape from our bungalow apartment. The MG Inn is a 15 minute walk away from the Main Street where all the busses arrive and depart as well as a 5 minute walk from the train station. Away from the busy Kalaw main road you will be sure to have a good night’s sleep. The breakfast room is cold in the morning but there is a cozy fire place - we arrived early at 7 am and were assigned a table right next to the fire. They do not have a buffet but serve a variety of freshly prepared eggs, toast, fruit as well as coffee and tea.

Peaceful location, helpful staff”
We stayed three days which gave us the opportunity to relax and enjoy the peaceful location of The Morning Glory inn. In the afternoon, after a walk to nearby cave pagoda and temples, we could sit on the lawn and listen to the birds singing, as the sun went down. The rooms are situated in bungalows separate from the big house. I would not rate The Morning Glory as a hotel, our room was not serviced during our stay, but it is an excellent B&B.

Relaxing place to recover from trekking.”
Cottage-like rooms in an open field/garden on a hillside above the town, looking out over piney hills. The reception and dining area are in an older building, but the cottages seem relatively new. They have porches with chairs for sitting out. The room and bathroom are good sized. As usual, no shower stall, but a good supply of hot water at any hour. Small refrigerator, but no hotpot. No AC or fan, but not needed in March. Breakfast was good, but no buffet. Eggs on request. Staff was very helpful and competent, and laundry was quick and reasonable. A nice touch was that they picked us up from the bus station and also dropped us back when we left, at no charge. This is almost necessary, because the taxi situation in Kalaw is not good, and it is quite a good hike to get to the center of town from the cottages.

Relaxing retreat”
Arrived from bagan via bus and walked the 1.5km from the town to the inn fairly easily but slightly sweaty. The contrast between the busy town and this peaceful spot is great and worth the short walk, or slightly expensive taxis. The views from the inn are great and what I expected from this mountain town. The rooms do not have air con but this was not a problem as the temperature dropped to a nice sleeping temperature at night (in November). Nothing special about the rooms, they're basic but comfortable. The staff are really friendly and nice. The breakfasts are awesome. Especially when you get pancakes, fresh pineapple and fresh avacados from the trees on the property, there was too much good food for us to us to eat! The WiFi is slow and only available in the reception, but we were happy to use this retreat to get away from the likes of WiFi. I have been lead to believe that the WiFi is bad all over kalaw!

Exceptional”
I was at Morning Glory for a week and I loved it. It is away from the busyness of the town centre, yet close enough to walk there if you want a nice meal or do some shopping. There are also many nice walking trails around the hotel where you can enjoy nature and the fresh air. The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortably-furnished. Last but not least, the staff are excellent. They really go the extra mile to make sure you have a comfortable stay. I'll definitely come again ;o)

Amazing place run by local family”
This place is a great stay when you travel to Kalaw. The local family that runs it, will do anything to make you feel at home! Breakfast is amazing, the place has great views over of the mountains. Rooms are basic but convenient. Each room has a porch where you can sit, relax and enjoy the views. We arrived at 4.00 am but the owner made no problem of picking us up himself!

15 min's to the Kalaw center”
This hotel is located in the peaceful and green district, just 15 min's walk from the Kalaw center. The hotel is managed by the family. There is a free shuttle bus to the center every day at 17.30. They can organise trips to Inle Lake and elsewhere. Everything was perfect during our stay. We'll come here also on the next time.

Best place to recharge your energy”
Staffs are friendly and owner is very heloful too. Breskfast is not buffet style but they serve what you want to eat. Room is very clean and separate pantry area. The place is very cute, quiet and peaceful but walking distance to kalaw market and railway station. For sure, i will recommend my frds.

The staff was lovely and very kind. We asked to do an early check in, cause we arrived at 5 AM to Kalaw, and they gave us a room when we arrived without charging extra. Each time we wanted to go to the center (10 minutes walking), the owner gave us a ride. The breakfast was wonderful and varied!

In the walking distance of Kalaw center. Green and peaceful location. Good, versatile breakfast. They can arrange for you trips with their own car. You can eat in the breakfast-/dining room food made in the local restaurant. I would come here again.

I love this place! The set up is wonderful - each bungalow has a little patio, the garden is well manicured, and the view is beautiful!! The staff are also incredibly friendly and the breakfasts are nice (especially when they do pancakes!). I'd definitely recommend it to anyone passing through Kalaw.

Quiet chalet above town”
Morning Glory is a great place. Set in a pretty garden and just a 15 minute walk into town. There's a free shuttle service should this be too much of a leg stretch. The rooms a kept spotlessly and the breakfast is excellent. We extended our stay, we enjoyed it so much.

Hot water run out while showering!!!”
I love to stay here. This is my second time Breakfast is not buffet but quiet good. Hotel is quiet and very pleasant to stay. So many trees and shady and beautiful. The staffs are also very friendly and ready to help. But only thing was hot water run out while showering. As Kalaw is very cold, that was bad experience.

Nice bungalows with nature view”
For everyone who wants to get out of Kalaw (which is not the nicest town) and into nature! Good-sized, clean Bungalows with a porch and view into nature. Only the Bathtub could have been cleaner. Breakfast is tasty with wide variety. We also had dinner in the restaurant and food was OK. Staff very friendly. Would stay again.

They allowed us check in at 3am without even checking our hotel voucher. Which means customer comes first to them above all else. Very friendly staff and I love their breakfast. Decent and clean hotel for a good night rest. Nothing fancy but good enough to make you sleep well with a clean bed and a clean room.

A bit far from center and all day speakers from town and the mountain with religious noise. Sad. Can be a peaceful spot. However not the owners to blaim ofcourse. Not much to do in kalaw.

It was one of the best guesthouses that we had since 2 months of travelling in Asia. Breakfast is very nice and you won't stay hungry. Rooms (we had a deluxe double room) are very new (opened just a year ago) and clean asnd come wuth a balcony. View from ther receotion's terrace is very nice. The owners are gorgeous and go the extra mile (e.g. cooking us french fries at 10pm). We also got a free lift to the city centre with all of our luggage. It Is behin the railway station so it takes approx. 15min to the centre. If xou don't minf walking a bit than you should definitely stay here!
