a comfy stay”

My friend and I spent a night at Phnom Penh Katari Hotel and both of us loved this hotel! The staff members were very friendly and helpful. They offered us tea and cold towels while we were checking in. They explained everything (how to function these and those in the room) after sending the luggage to our room. The staff also assisted us to hail for a tuktuk to the airport in the early morning. The room is very clean and nearly new. For the breakfast, there were variety choices and the taste were good. Thanks again! We had a lovely stay in Phnom Penh :)))

Asian style business hotel”

The Katari hotel was a good choice for us for a 3 night stay in Phnom Penh. It‘s located in BKK1 which is a pretty hip district with lots of coffee shops and little shops, pretty close to many of the sights. We stayed in a corner room (Junior Suite I believe) on the 8th floor and the room was extremely large, had a nice view of the city and the bed was comfortable. The room however smelled ever so faintly of smoke, despite being a non smokers room. The gym at the hotel is small but located on the 13th floor with a nice view over the city. The pool set up is nice with some sun beds and also a nice view from the 12th floor. Good restaurants nearby, so we didn‘t eat at the hotel. Breakfast was fine, with hot and cold, Asian and Western options. Only negative at breakfast was the fact that two TVs were running simulatiously on different channels which made it hard to have a conversation.

AMAZING HOTEL TRULY!”

This hotel was completely unexpected. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the staff who were extremely friendly. My friend and I were backpacking to Cambodia but intended to stay at someplace nicer than the usual hostels, but for the price given, we certainly did not expect such luxury! The bell boy was an adorable and friendly young chap who gave us plenty of tips and advice. The reception staff were also very pleasant and were willing to help us despite their limited English. The room itself was AMAZING. We were thrilled to see how huge and well-decorated it was! Maybe because we had been backpacking so our expectations were kinda low. But having been to hotels of the same standard, this was truly one of the best. We had a welcome drink, cold towel to freshen up with, complimentary tropical fruits, and was blown away with the technology used for the switches in the room. Breakfast spread was decent. The pancake in particular was soft and yummy. But we were slightly disgusted by the insects that swarmed the vegetables and fruits. The only major complain I have is with the housekeeping. I'm not sure what is the system for housekeeping like in this hotel but for the 3 nights we were there, we were woken up every morning by the housekeeping staff even though we were not ready to head out yet. I understand that different hotels adopt different systems, but for a hotel of this standard, we expected better. To make things worse, even though we requested for them to come back later, they never did. For the entire duration of our stay, not once was our room made up, unfortunately. Thankfully we were very much pleased with every other aspect of the hotel, especially with the warmth and friendliness of the staff at the lobby, so we didn't kick up a fuss about the housekeeping matters. Location was great. Close to bars, eateries and even salons. A 24 hour minimart is also a short 2 min walk away, which was very convenient. Well done Katari Hotel!

I was very impressed with Katari Hotel. Not only the price was low, the facilities are clean and well kept. Staffs were very pleasant and always quick to help with any requests. The services are unbelievable that I should have stayed longer. I would not hesitate to book the same place if I ever travel to Phnom Penh again, and certain will recommend to families and friends that I know they will not be disappointed.

Very good business hotel in Phnom Penh”

I thoroughly enjoyed my second stay at Phnom Penh Katari Hotel. It is a very practical hotel, with all the necessary facilities in place. Two minor suggestions though: 1. Improve on their breakfast; and 2. Update the hotel & room interiors as they seem dated now. Other than those, it's worth a stay for sure.

Perfect birthday retreat!”

We loved our stay at Katari and thoroughly recommend it and would definitely plan to stay in the future. We live in Phnom Penh and our little birthday tradition is to have a mini-staycation at a nice hotel in town. My husband also told the staff when we booked that it was my birthday and the staff brought a lovely little cake and sang Happy Birthday to me! It was very special. The only downside to our stay was that it was a little too cool to utilise their lovely pool, but I had a delightful bath instead! :-) Loved it!

Value for money , clean and safe”

No regrets stay in Phnom Penh Katari Hotel. Safety and clean. Almost all the staff speaks good English. Mr Piseth , always appear to extend help when needed although he is the concierger. All personnel perform well which includes the kitchen staff. Andy L.

Exceptional”

Really good service, and good value for the money. Everything was kept really clean. Breakfast was good, the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was some loud construction noise outside, and the staff upgraded us to the other side of the hotel, where we couldn’t hear it, and didn’t charge us any extra! Great views from the pool area, and the location was excellent - many restaurants and bars, etc. , were very close, and the markets and malls were not far (2 - 4$ in a Tuk Tuk). Plenty of taxis and Tuk Tuks around, and the hotel staff were good at getting one to take you anywhere around Phnom Penh. They could also arrange tours from the hotel. If we ever returned to Phnom Penh, I would rebook this hotel without a doubt.

First time at the Katari”

I visit Phnom Penh quite often and this is the first time i am staying at the Katari. The stay was pleasant, the hotel is nice and clean. Deco is alittle boring and dated, but apart from that, it is all good.

It was relaxing, comfortable, and enjoyable. Internet acccess is available either in the lobby or in the room. Food service is well served at the restaurant with a variety of foods. Coffee corner provides tasty drink. The sky bar is a wonderful place on the top of the hotel with a fantastic view of the city. The gym, spa, sonar, and swing poll are well served and equipped. All staff are helpful and friendly. It would be strongly recommended that it is considered one of the top recommended hotels in Phnom Penh.

High quality hotel in a convenient location”

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay in this comfortable, quiet (for Phnom Penh) hotel. Breakfast had a good variety and was relatively tasty. The main downside was the annoying elevator/ security system. The elevator required a room key card to operate, which is fine for one person in one room. If there are two people and only one card (our situation), be prepared for a lot of stairs. Or try to get another card:. Would stay here again...feels like 3.5-4 stars at 3 star price.

Comfortable hotel”

Katari was on the whole comfortable. I think we were upgraded to a bigger room altho the staff did not mention. The room looks more dated than expected. However, it is sufficiently clean. The lighting in the room is quite dark. My room was at the side of the hotel where heavy piling works were ongoing at the site opposite for the upcoming Novotel. This is not any fault of the hotel’s but the noise made it not conducive to relax at the hotel or use the pool in the day time. The pool was at 1.4m deep on the shallow end, which i feel is too deep. I enjoyed the hotel buffet breakfast very much. A few dishes were too salty for my palate. The neighbourhood has many cafes and restaurants and less rowdy than in the main tourist area.

An excellent experience”

We moved to the katari unexpectedly and loved it. The atmosphere was very welcoming. The staff were incredibly helpful. Our room was spacious, very comfortable, the bed was amazing, very clean and had everything we wanted. The pool was beautiful, so great for relaxing round after sightseeing. Excellent food from the sky bar. Didnt try the massage facilities this time. The location was perfect, close to everything and always a friendly tuk tuk driver waiting All in all a wonderful stay. No downsides. Thank you to all at the katari.

A charming hideaway in Phnom Penh”

What a delightful hotel. The rooms, the staff, the pool; all extremely nice. When I return to Phnom Penh I will certainly stay here again. Many walkable restaurants in the BKK area, tuktuks only 10000 riel to the riverside, but the best is the hotel staff.

Nice new hotel”

This hotel is in a great location and close to restaurants, pubs and other facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and really comfortable. Take a walk along the river around sunset and see how vibrant and beautiful Phnom Penh is.

Not charming but has everything you need & great location”

The Katari has the look of an old Chinese-style block hotel, but seems to have been nicely renovated: clean carpets, new bathroom fixtures, etc. Staff were lovely and helpful. The rooftop pool is a little unusual in that it's only partially open to the sky, so not great if you're looking to get a tan, but refreshing for a quick dip and reading with a beer. Location is perfect: tons of restaurants, massage places, shopping in walking distance.

We had great time at Katari Hotel. Pretty impressive customer service. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. They have nice pool on the top floor, isn’t so big, but big enough and comfortable. The breakfast was one of the highlights, they cook eggs and noodle if you want, and other things are very good as well. Clean everywhere. Highly recommended!

Wonderful Staff, Great Amenities, Good Value”

Our go to place when staying in Phnom Penh. Hate to write this review because we want to keep this place all to ourselves. This place checks all the boxes for us. Good breakfast, nice staff (service), nice amenities, great location.
