    Impressed by QP ”

1). Room (size and amenities, incl. tv with HBO, ac, safe box, lighting, comfortable and contemporary, clean bedding, nice view), 2). Bathroom (shower within enclosed bath tub, roomy), 3). Location

I was very impressed with my recent stay at Queen's Park Hotel (QPH). Having just traveled throughout Myanmar, QPH was the perfect way to end my trip helping to leave Myanmar with a good taste in my mouth. To compare apples with apples, my earlier stay in Yangon makes QPH seem more like a 5 star hotel. From the moment you step foot onto their property, you walk onto a car port with doormen waiting to greet you and graciously introduce you into their facility. The lobby is clean and sweeping. At the front desk, you're attended to by friendly staff willing to do whatever possible to accommodate the needs of their guests. At every moment, the doormen eagerly anticipate their guests needs without being overbearing. I was impressed by my room which was pre-chilled with a quietly running ac. Aesthetically, the room was clean and contemporary without being impersonal. It was spacious for even two travelers. Suited with safety deposit box, hair dryer, refrigerator, tv with cable including movie channel in English, very comfortable bedding with clean linens, adjustable lighting, great views, etc. Overall it was quiet. The bathroom was wonderful based on my Western preferences. There was a legitimate shower within a bathtub with sliding glass doors. It was roomy with variable lighting options. In the morning, the free breakfast option was a bonus with both local and Western flavors. QPH was in the middle of downtown, surrounded by restaurants and stores, a few blocks from street marts and street festivals, 10-15 min walk from Botahtaung Pagoda and Yangon River, and a short taxi ride from most other sites. While technically not a 4 star due to a few technicalities (ie. elevator under repair, shower could have been warmer), QPH was an incredible value! I was so comfortable with both the staff and facility that I almost didn't want to leave. I HIGHLY recommend Queen's Park Hotel.

    Great centrally located hotel.”

Presidential suite was amazingly spacious with panoramic views of Yangon and Shwedagon Pagoda. Location is central downtown, very easy to get around from here. Lots of shops, minimart and markets close by. Internet when down stairs was great, in the room, only worked in certain parts of the room and had to keep reconnecting. I was on the top floor however, and this is normal in many hotels in Yangon. Quiet, good range of tv channels and plenty space. This was a great little find for what is a very long standing hotel. Would definitely stay again.

My favourite area in Yangon. The hotel offers great service and location. It is a midstream hotel and priced accordingly. Beautiful wood parquetry floors, luxe fluffy white towelling. It is not a high end hotel but good value for the price. Staff are amazing. I had an excellent meal at their AJ's restaurant.

    Staff, convienence, good atmosphere

I stayed at the QP hotel from the start then returned for the last couple of days on a month long trip to Myanmar. It is what to expect from a 3 star hotel balanced with cost and of course there is always room for improvement. The Staff where always there to help with a smile. Rooms where made up every day and very clean, some rooms are small but travelling alone that doesn't bother me. I plan to returned to Yangon next year and will stay here again.

This is a great hotel at a fairly reasonable price. This was one of the first hotels that actually had functional Wi-Fi during my stay in Myanmar. The staff are absolutely amazing and are very attentive to all of your needs. I strongly suggest you stay here and you will not regret it.

I wanted to be in downtown Yangon and the hotel was at the right place. The hotel is still under renovation at some floors and a bit messy. Anyway, the staff tried their best to accommodate the needs of customers. There are also some customers staying on long-term basis because it is considered a good one in Yangon.

I have reviewed this hotel previously recently. Unfortunately a second review must ask the owners/managers to address the recurring problem of unsatisfactory water supply to rooms. There is either no hot water, or no cold water, and some showers have no water at all. This is a very basic requirement for all guests at the hotel and I would suggest urgent attention. Great location and staff.

    Below our expectation, not recommended”

Decent breakfast, walking distance to the market,

We have concluded our Myanmar trip in Yangon, paying for the overnight stay in Queen's Park hotel, compared to elsewhere. We were well aware that that prices in Yangon will be higher then elsewhere, . We had the following on offer: room without a window, only cold water, clogged sewage in the bathroom which meant that the super quick wash up we did in a super short time due to the coldness of the water was enough to have ankle high water floating in the bathroom. Given that we went out late night to go to Shwedagon Paya returning close to midnight, we did not go bother going to the front desk to complain. Did this only next morning requesting to talk to the manager. He literally laughed at us, and said why did you not come last night. We were asking for a token of appreciation in a form of a refund or at least an apology. I asked him if he thinks it is fine that we as his guests pay for this type of a stay for which we laughingly confirmed, " Yes, I think the is a fair price for the windowless cold water room". This was probably the rudest manager I have met so far since traveling....the only nice thing was the breakfast

The hotel is very good and staff very helpful and friendly, BUT: - breakfast is extremely poor for western tastes - TV channels change on a daily basis, depending of the choices of the maintenance staff when they want to watch football matches instead of international news channels - windows are LOCKED in the rooms and you have to be extremely persuasive in order to have them unlocked.

Junior staffs - friendly and helpful Higher management "Reception supervisor and Operation manager"- ill ed manner irresponsible person. They won't entertain you after office hours. They reluctant to give me back my deposit because my check out timing is out of office hours. I have to lodge police report to get it back before I check out which is at 7.am. Hotel management is very poor. Only Operation manager have the rights to handle dollars. But he can only available during office hours. Travellers who which to stay there do not leave any deposits else you won't be able to get it back if your check out timing fall before or after office hours. GM and Director of the hotel, Hope you can review the management of the hotel. In my opinion, both supervisor and Operation manager never put customer first. They put their good night sleep first than customer. If your hotel keep this two staffs, your hotel reputation will go down must deeper. Agoda, Please investigate on this matter.

Repeat booker but disappointed this time ”

I book rooms here every month for business colleagues and this time I went to place a bottle of wine in the room. The hotel staff refused to provide wine glasses and an opener - very poor service considereing they have a bar in the hotel. I don't think 2 glasses is too much to ask for & was very surprised at how unhelpful they were

    Nice hotel”

Nice hotel with a nice staff! Great location, too! Only a couple of blocks away from my family. We would stay there again, when we visit Myanmar again.

    Noisy and expensive”

    Bed, view, cold fridge

They had me in a closet-like room when I arrived and then overcharged me to move to another room. They also fix the exchange rate at a high number to fleece customers. Staff was very noisy, slapping around in flip-flops and singing late at night as they passed door. Very loud streets with lots of honking. Noisiest hotel I've ever stayed at. They should reduce the prices. Front desk lady was reasonable and amusing.

Nice enough if one only wants to sleep in the room”

No window and very dim lighting made it hard to read or tell day from night! But breakfast was excellant and staff friendly. For the price and location it was ok for 2 nights.
